After registering and securing entry permits, take time to explore the local market if schedules allow. Continue to the park gate and start trekking along dramatic escarpments, surrounded by unique flora and breathtaking views. Along the way, spot Gelada baboons, klipspringers, bushbuck, and colorful bird species. By late afternoon, arrive at Sankaber Camp (3,250m) for your first overnight stay in the heart of the Simien Mountains.

Day 2
Trek from Sankaber Camp to Gich Camp
Trek from Sankaber Camp to Gich Camp
After breakfast, set off on a full-day trek (about 15 km, 6–7 hours) from Sankaber to Gich. Walk along the escarpments with sweeping views over deep valleys and foothills. Pass through heather forests and highland vegetation such as Abyssinian rose and globe thistle. Wildlife sightings may include Gelada baboons, bushbuck, klipspringer, and—if lucky—even leopard. A highlight of the day is the Jinbar Waterfall, plunging 500 meters into a dramatic gorge, the tallest fall in Ethiopia. Continue your trek and arrive at Gich Camp (3,600m) for an overnight stay surrounded by striking highland scenery.

Day 3

Begin early with an ascent of Mt. Imet Gogo (3,926m), one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Simien Mountains, offering a breathtaking 360° panorama of jagged peaks and valleys. Continue through high-altitude grasslands dotted with giant lobelias and Erica trees as you make your way to Mt. Innatye (4,070m), known for its dramatic cliffs and thrilling drop-offs. Along the trail, encounter Gelada monkeys, Walia ibex, and soaring birds of prey. By late afternoon, descend into the scenic valley and settle at Chenneck Camp (3,620m) for the night, surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes.

Day 4
From Chenneck Camp to Mt-Buahit and Return to Gondar
From Chenneck Camp to Mt-Buahit and Return to Gondar
After an early breakfast, begin the challenging ascent to Mt. Buahit (4,430m), Ethiopia’s second-highest peak. The climb takes around 3 hours, rewarding you with sweeping 360° views over the rugged Simien landscape. Along the way, look out for Walia ibex, soaring vultures, and unique alpine plants such as giant lobelia and everlasting flowers. Descend back to Chenneck Camp for lunch, then drive back to Gondar, where the tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
