Samburu is home to the unique “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Day 3

After breakfast, depart Samburu and travel south toward the Laikipia Plateau. Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in time for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive across this conservation powerhouse. Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The conservancy also shelters the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. Beyond its conservation role, Ol Pejeta boasts a high density of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and even wild dogs.

This morning, depart Ol Pejeta after breakfast and drive south into the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the freshwater lake to spot hippos and watch African fish eagles snatch prey from the water. Later, take a guided walk on Crescent Island Sanctuary, where giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelope roam freely against the backdrop of the lake and volcanic cliffs. Naivasha’s lush landscapes provide a peaceful contrast to the savannahs.

Dedicate a full day to exploring the Mara’s diverse landscapes. Begin with an early morning drive, when predators are most active, followed by a day-long safari with picnic lunch in the bush.
