Day 1

Your safari begins with an early morning drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its dramatic landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees and the life-giving Tarangire River.

This park hosts one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations, often seen in large herds roaming the open plains. During your game drive, you’ll also encounter lions, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the park, allowing you to soak in the wilderness.

As the day ends, you’ll drive to a public campsite near Lake Manyara or Mto wa Mbu, where your camp crew will set up tents and prepare a delicious dinner. Enjoy the magic of camping under the vast African sky, surrounded by sounds of nature.

Day 2

Mto wa Mbu to Ngorongoro crater

After an early breakfast, you head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend approximately 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest volcanic calderas.

The crater floor is a wildlife sanctuary supporting an incredible density of animals including the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and black rhino—along with flamingos, hippos, and diverse birdlife. Your day will be spent on a thorough game drive, stopping for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot like Ngoitoktok Springs.

In the late afternoon, you’ll ascend to the crater rim and camp at Simba Campsite, which offers stunning panoramic views and a chance to hear nocturnal wildlife. The campsite is basic but comfortable, providing an authentic wilderness experience.

Day 3

Your final day takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller but ecologically rich park famed for its tree-climbing lions and spectacular flocks of flamingos that often color the soda lake pink.

The park’s varied habitats include lush groundwater forests, open grassy plains, and the lake’s shoreline, attracting hippos, baboons, elephants, and a huge variety of birds. After a morning game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll begin the return journey to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.

This marks the end of your camping safari, leaving you with lasting memories of Tanzania’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
