Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We depart today for Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch, driving through the open plains south of Arusha. During the dry season, May to October, Tarangire hosts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife outside the Serengeti, and its lush southeastern wetlands attract more than 300 bird species.

With fewer visitors than many other parks, Tarangire’s rolling savannah, scattered with ancient baobab and acacia trees, offers a true sense of wilderness and solitude.

Enjoy a full-day game drive before dinner and an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge or a similar lodge.

Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the famous hippo pool before a final game drive and return to The Retreat at Ngorongoro Lodge for the evening.
