Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant town located at the gateway to Lake Manyara National Park, is a cultural melting pot representing over 120 Tanzanian tribes. Known for its agricultural richness, the town produces a variety of crops, including rice and the famous red bananas.

A half-day guided tour offers visitors an authentic experience of local life—interacting with farmers, artists, craftsmen, and painters. You’ll also get the chance to sample traditional banana beer, giving you a true taste of the region’s culture.

The town’s cultural diversity is reflected in its entrepreneurial spirit—from a Kigoma farmer making palm oil from trees brought from Lake Tanganyika, to Rangi artisans crafting colorful mats and baskets from local papyrus.
