Day 1

From Nairobi to the Wild Plains of Masai Mara

From Nairobi to the Wild Plains of Masai Mara

At 7:30am, you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your safari adventure begins in a private 4x4 Jeep as you set off towards the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

Travel through the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment, pausing at scenic viewpoints before descending to the valley floor. Passing through Maasai country, you will enjoy glimpses of the vibrant local culture as herdsmen tend to their cattle.

By midday, you will arrive at your chosen lodge or tented camp, where a warm lunch will be served to you. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across the Mara's endless savannahs. This initial safari offers a thrilling preview of the wildlife to come — elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and, with some luck, the big cats.

Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Exploring the Treasures of Masai Mara

Exploring the Treasures of Masai Mara

Awake early for a day of adventure in the Masai Mara, home to some of Africa's most abundant wildlife. After breakfast, set out on unlimited game drives across the golden plains, dotted with acacia trees and alive with movement. Keep a lookout for the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino — along with countless other species.

If visiting between July and October, you may witness the world-famous great migration, as thousands of wildebeest and zebra thunder across the Mara River, where crocodiles wait in ambush. The drama and sheer scale of this natural spectacle are truly unforgettable!

You can also enhance your day with optional activities: soar above the reserve at sunrise on a hot-air balloon safari, or visit a local Maasai village to experience their vibrant culture and traditions.

Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the wild beauty of the Mara.

Farewell Masai Mara and Return to Nairobi

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge or camp, enjoy your final moments in the wild before checking out. Your driver-guide will then take you on a scenic journey back to Nairobi in your private 4x4 Jeep.

Along the way, admire views of Mt Longonot, an extinct volcano rising dramatically from the floor of the Great Rift Valley. You may also opt for stops at Lake Naivasha for lunch and excursions, or at Kiambethu tea farm for a guided tour and buffet lunch (available at an additional cost).

By the afternoon, you will arrive in Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of your unforgettable safari in the Masai Mara — a journey filled with wildlife, landscapes and cherished memories.
