Your Safari begins with a warm welcome from a professional driver-guide from Mooi Adventures. After a short briefing, you will embark on a scenic road journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas. The drive, which may take approximately 8 to 9 hours depending on the sector of Bwindi, offers stunning views of Uganda’s ever-changing landscape. You will pass through busy trading centers, lush banana plantations, rolling terraced hills, and vibrant rural communities. Along the way, a lunch stop will be provided, giving you a taste of Uganda’s rich cuisine.
As the road meanders into the highlands of southwestern Uganda, the air becomes cooler, and the scenery shifts to mist-covered hills, tea plantations, and deep valleys. This landscape introduces you to the charm and natural splendor that makes Bwindi so special.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

The trek can take anywhere between two to six hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned to track. As you navigate through thick vegetation, steep slopes, and tangled vines, the excitement builds until you encounter the gorillas. Spending one precious hour in the company of a gorilla family is truly unforgettable. You will watch them forage, groom each other, and play, all while realizing the profound connection between humans and these endangered primates. Photography is allowed, provided flash is not used, enabling you to capture lasting memories of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Return Journey to Entebbe – End of Safari

After an early breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and begin the return journey to Entebbe. The drive back allows you to retrace Uganda’s rural beauty, passing through small towns, lush farmlands, and picturesque landscapes. A stopover for lunch will provide a refreshing break before continuing to Entebbe. Depending on your schedule, the safari can end with a transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight or to your hotel for an extended stay.
