After breakfast, your Kilimanjaro On Foot safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation. This morning, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-and-a-half-hour journey along good tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the only reliable water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, offering incredible opportunities to observe these majestic animals gathering by the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, while predators such as lions and leopards are often nearby.

The park is renowned for having one of the highest diversities of bird species in the world. Ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old, dot the landscape, creating a truly iconic African scenery. A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site inside the park.

The park’s namesake, a shallow Salt Lake, expands and contracts with the seasons, attracting thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and more than 500 other species.

As you explore, you may spot baboons and elephants in the lush evergreen forest and keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions that make this park legendary.

In addition to your game drive, enjoy a thrilling treetop walk, taking in the spectacular scenery and wildlife from a unique perspective.
