Your Kilimanjaro On Foot safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. This morning, you’ll set off on a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive along good tarmac roads to Tarangire National Park. Named after the Tarangire River, the park provides the only reliable water source for wildlife during the dry season.

Famous for its massive elephant herds, Tarangire offers unforgettable opportunities to watch these giants gather along the riverbanks. The park is also home to giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and an impressive variety of predators, including lions and leopards. With one of the world’s richest bird diversities and ancient baobab trees—some estimated to be over a thousand years old—Tarangire is a photographer’s paradise.

After breakfast, you will drive from Serengeti National Park to the Ngorongoro Crater. At first sight, the crater feels like a hidden world, tucked away behind towering volcanic walls. This pristine wilderness features vast savannahs, pockets of acacia forest, and sparkling lakes and swamps. Formed when a massive volcano collapsed 2 to 3 million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is a geological wonder.

Descending into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once on the crater floor, you’ll be surrounded by abundant wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. The crater also offers a rare chance to spot the endangered black rhino grazing in the open grasslands.
