You’ll pass through Fort Portal, a charming town nestled at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, where you’ll stop for lunch. Upon arrival in the Kibale area, check into your luxury lodge, which may offer stunning views of crater lakes or forested hills. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a short nature walk, some birdwatching, or simply relax on your private veranda. Rise early for an unforgettable morning of chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. After a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, you’ll venture into the dense tropical forest in search of one of the largest populations of chimpanzees in East Africa. The walk can last 2–4 hours depending on the troop’s movements, and once located, you’ll spend an exhilarating hour observing their social interactions. Return to your lodge for a late lunch. In the early afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetlands, a community-run eco-project rich in birdlife and other primates. Later, begin the scenic transfer (2–3 hours) to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, check into a luxury safari lodge set along the park’s northern sector. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation time. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise is a highlight of the park and offers a close-up view of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and hundreds of bird species along the shore. Enjoy breakfast before driving south through the remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is famous for its population of tree-climbing lions, often found lounging in fig trees during the heat of the day. After your drive, continue through picturesque countryside and local villages toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The road winds through misty hills, and the scenery grows more dramatic as you approach the forest. Arrive at your luxury rainforest lodge in the afternoon. Today is the highlight of your Ugandan journey – gorilla trekking. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla etiquette and safety. You’ll be assigned to one of the habituated gorilla families and led by expert trackers and rangers deep into the forest. Trekking can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location and the terrain. Once found, you’ll spend a magical hour in their presence, observing their behavior, communication, and social structures. This close encounter with our great ape cousins is one of the most emotional and unforgettable wildlife experiences on Earth. After the trek, return to the lodge for a hearty lunch and well-deserved rest. In the late afternoon, you can opt to visit a local Batwa or Bakiga community to learn about indigenous forest cultures and conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight at your luxury lodge.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, a compact yet wildlife-rich park located midway between Bwindi and Entebbe (approx. 5–6 hours drive). En route, you’ll pass banana plantations and traditional cattle farms. Arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive or a guided walking safari, one of the few parks in Uganda where you can explore on foot. Expect to see zebra, impala, topi, eland, buffalo, and many bird species, all set against a backdrop of rolling hills and acacia woodlands. As this is your final night on safari, enjoy a peaceful evening with a bush dinner, drinks by the fire, and the sounds of the wild under the stars.
