Day 2

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive (approx. 5–6 hours) to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of East Africa. The journey takes you through the lush countryside, traditional villages, and beautiful tea plantations. Stop in Fort Portal, a charming town nestled near the Rwenzori Mountains, for lunch before continuing to your lodge. Check into your luxury lodge overlooking either a crater lake or forest canopy. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon, perhaps with a nature walk or a drink overlooking the crater rim.

Day 3

Early in the morning, head to Kibale Forest Headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee tracking adventure. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll trek into the rainforest to locate one of the habituated chimpanzee communities. Once found, spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching them feed, groom, and play.
After lunch at the lodge, visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed reserve known for its biodiversity. Walk along raised boardwalks through the wetland to spot colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and over 200 bird species, including the great blue turaco. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening and fine dining.

Relax at the lodge in the evening, enjoying panoramic views over the savannah or the Rwenzori Mountains.

Start your day with a sunrise game drive, an excellent time to spot predators like lions, hyenas, and possibly leopards. Look out for large herds of elephants, buffalo, and diverse antelope species.
Return to the lodge for brunch, followed by an afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This 32-kilometre waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of hippos, as well as crocodiles, buffalo, elephants, and spectacular birdlife, including African fish eagles, saddle-billed storks, and kingfishers.

Day 6

After breakfast, drive south to the Ishasha sector, the remote southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 2–3 hours). This area is famous for its tree-climbing lions, which often lounge in fig trees during the heat of the day. Enjoy a game drive in this scenic and less crowded region.
Continue your journey through rolling hills and misty valleys to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park—home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your luxury lodge nestled in the forest by afternoon. Unwind with forest views and prepare for the following day’s life-changing experience.

This is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll then begin your gorilla trek, accompanied by expert trackers and guides.
The trek can take 1–6 hours depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. Once found, spend a strictly regulated 1 hour observing the gorillas—an awe-inspiring and deeply moving experience.
Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, enjoy optional activities like a massage, a forest walk, or a community visit to meet the Batwa pygmies and learn about their ancient forest lifestyle.

Day 8

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and head toward Lake Mburo National Park (approx. 5–6 hours), one of Uganda’s smallest but most charming parks. Known for zebra, impala, eland, and topi, this park offers unique opportunities for walking safaris and horseback safaris.
Arrive in the afternoon and check into your luxury lodge built into the hillside, offering sweeping views of the park. Head out on a walking safari or a sunset game drive, guided by a park ranger. This up-close experience is ideal for seeing wildlife from a different perspective.

Enjoy a peaceful breakfast overlooking Lake Mburo, and perhaps take part in a final morning bush walk to spot birds and plains game. Then depart for Entebbe (approx. 4–5 hours). On the way, stop at the Equator Line in Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs.
Arrive in Entebbe in the afternoon. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy lunch or a day room at a nearby hotel before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight home, bringing your incredible journey to a close.
