Write a User ReviewWe stayed in an extremely comfortable and large chalet, surrounded by undisturbed expanses of Karoo. It can get very hot in the day, but thankfully there was a pool to swim in, which was regularly visited by local birds.

My trip was before lion were reintroduced and the Park re-stocked - so game viewing wasn't particularly great. However, the Park itself is beautiful with great accommodation that lifts your spirits.

I visited this as the Karoo certainly has its own type of Harsh beauty, and there are certain fauna and flora that you simply dont get anywhere else. It is not for your casual tourist, as you wont get that big game wow factor, but if your serious about natural beaty and rare fauna and flora, and deafening night silence under an amazingly clear night sky, then you'll truly appreciate it's harsh uniqeness

Our morning in the Mountain Zebra Park was great, there is not as many animals as in the north of the country but I was surprised to see so many.
There is less animals but there is also less tourists, we went in November and we were nearly the only ones in the park which was a much appreciated luxury.

Very quaint Chalets , along the rise ,facing towering Mountains and Valleys.
Dinosaur walk , plant Identification walk. It is the Park most used by tourists , coming from the Cape or going to!
But a short stay will yield many bird and animal species

Karoo National Park is a scenic gem in the heart of the arid Karoo. Wildlife is quite limited and mostly comprises various antelope species but it has a unique character and fascination. Accommodation is typical National Parks self catering chalets and there is an on-site restaurant. A fossil trail and various guided and unguided walks are available. It can get very hot in summer.

Fantastic views and beautiful scenery but wildlife is limited mainly to different antelopes and zebra and baboons some drives around the park suitable for ordinary cars even tho not tarmac
