unforgettable trip

We were staying for 2 nights at Lalibela Hidmo Cozy Place, where Desta and his family are running. The guesthouse was really cozy , very quiet with a wonderful view from the terrace , offering an excellent dishes, cooked by his wife. The family members were always attentive for the needs of the guests.

Desta’s guide in Lalibela was also marvelous and extraordinary with his knowledgeable explanation. He told us that his grandfather was working in a St Maria Church on the top of the mountain as a responsible priester, so we could have an opportunity to visit a hidden room which is usually closed. We also noticed that he was very much respected by the local people because of his family history also of his generous personality.

Owing to Desta and his family, our trip in Lalibela became a life experience which we’d never forget in our life.

He told me Desta Lalibela Tours also organizes a tour in different sites and spots in Ethiopia. This time we couldn’t manage, but we’d love to visit this country again in the future , a land of profound cultures with lots of layers of discoveries.
And the people here are very pure and friendly.

My husband and I spent three days in Lalibela.
Desta and his family were very welcoming and friendly.
He recommended the best restaurants in Lalibela and he was always concerned about our well-being and safety.
In addition, he took us to an incredible tour around the churches.
The room had a beautiful view of the mountains and the breakfast was wonderful. Besides we had the honor of witnessing a true coffee ceremony.
We had an unforgettable experience.
We are gratfull for all talks, explanations and funny moments.
We highly recommend Desta Tours.

Perfect experience, could not have been better

I had the most wonderful experience. I stayed at the Hidmo Cozy Guest House, and then was connected with Desta as a guide. I visited during a very quiet time in Ethiopia, so it was just Desta and I. But it was perfect, he tailored the experience to what I wanted to do and see, and the trip could not have been more perfect. He is knowledgable, confident and kind, and the tour and service was amazing, and well worth it.

Two days tour in Lalibela

Desta organized everything and it was a such a great experience. The accommodation was perfect with incredible view from the balcony. As a family business they made me to feel like a member paying attention to a details even outside of the tour program.
Now I proudly can say that I have friends in Lalibela!

We stayed at Desta’s hotel in Lalibela and he took us on a tour of the churches. The accommodation is fantastic, the best place to stay in Lalibela. Wonderful food and service. Desta’s tour of the churches was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable, with perfect English. Definitely the best way to see Lalibela.
