Sekanka Safaris founded in 2014 is a citizen-owned mobile safari company originating and based in Maun, Botswana_ within the fimbriae of the unique world-renowned Okavango Delta. The founding team members were born and raised in Maun and Kasane and growing up they knew no other source of employment other than the widespread bush camps, lodges and mobile safaris. After more than 25 years of garnering experience in this industry, it is our pleasure to show you our HOME with great authenticity!

Magical trip with experienced and dedicated team able to respond and deal with just about anything
I was initially very nervous about camping out in the wilderness like this. I had never camped out like this and has such immediate access to wildlife. The feeling of waking up surrounded by the natural environment is unlike everything I had ever done. I was traveling solo so I was combined in with groups and we had a great and laid back experience together. Talo (our guide) was very knowledgeable about the animals and particularly birds, of which we shared a mutual love, and determined to give us a great experience while also respecting the wildlife. I always felt safe, the camping was way more comfortable than expected and the meals were all incredible. Over the course of the trip I did, in fact, see the big 5 and while nothing is guaranteed the scenary was always beautiful and to me every game drive we well worth it. My itinerary was a mixture of camping and hotels/modest lodges and while I was definitely grateful for a full bed every once in a while I think I would recommend you camp as much as possible.
I would definitely recommend Sekanka. Many tours to Botswana would have been out of my price range but with them I was able to visit a number of different places and different types of environments. For me the mark of booking with a good and experienced team is also how they respond when things do not go to plan and how well they are able to respond. Anything can happen when the roads are rough and you are so remote but even when things did crop up we were always safe and usually back on schedule within a couple of hours. I am so grateful that I got to take this trip and I hope to travel back one day soon in the future and explore even more of Botswana.

Our Safari vacation with Sekanka Safaris was highlight after highlight from start to finish. From the moment we inquired about our dream trip, everything was incredibly well organized. Anna and Tepo answered all of our questions and did a fantastic job making us feel comfortable.
When it was finally time to fly to Botswana to start our trip, we felt the whole itinerary was carefully and perfectly organized. We got see a lot of animals, including all of the Big Five. We were truly amazed by the special experience of camping in the Okavango Delta - falling asleep to lions roaring.

I could not recommend Sekanka enough for a safari tour in Botswana. We originally planned to book the Maun to Kasane tour, but also really wanted to see the meerkats, and the team were incredibly accommodating in helping us bundle everything into one package.
Throughout the safari, our guides were fantastic. Macha was with us the whole time and was an absolute wealth of knowledge. He took the time to explain everything we saw and was determined to make sure we experienced all the hard-to-spot animals (including lions and cheetahs)!
A big shout out as well to Monpati, Creature and Mr Booga for helping with transport, camp setup and the amazing food throughout the trip. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Real Botswana at its BEST!
We booked a Victoria Falls – Zambia Rhino Tour – Chobe River and National Park – Okavango Delta (Moremi) private tour!
It was perfectly organized and tailored to all our wishes. It was so easy to turn our “dreams” into reality. The lodges met our expectations—small, family-run businesses, exactly as we wanted! Great food and, above all, friendly people. Everywhere we had excellent private safaris and very well-trained guides. And every stay was optimized exactly as we wanted it.
At Victoria Falls there was an organized helicopter tour. In Chobe we had a private boat safari and great game drives. In Moremi we stayed in a tented camp—amazing! And every night there was a concert of the wilderness!
Organizing the trip was incredibly easy! Even when the road to Maun was closed following some heavy rain showers, a flight was arranged on short notice. We recommend Sekanka without reservation—local professionals who know Botswana inside out.
So great! We saw two leopards. It was incredible!
Moniqua was the best safari guide, he woke up at 4am every morning to get us out to see all the animals, especially leopards.
