Letaka Safaris is a mobile safari company specialising in non-participation, semi-luxury scheduled and private tailor-made safaris including birding and photographic safaris. The focus of our company has always been on the quality of our guides, hence our close association with African Guide Academy, a training facility which we created to elevate the standard of guiding in Botswana.

Fantastic small group safari company
Amazing organisation, great to be in a small group of 6 , made the experience much more intimate. Such a skilled tracker, guide and driver, his skills were awesome! Great tented camp , three course meals every night, comfortable beds and camp moved every few days to a different reserve. Fantastic range of animals seen and experienced at such close quarters. Cant recommend Letaka highly enough.

I have travelled many times with Letaka Safaris and found the organisation team, the safari guides, the support team and incredible cooks and the leadership of Brent and Grant to be second to none. I have been on many safaris all over the world and yet return again and again to Letaka for the full package of confidence in all the organisation, the friendliness, care and attention in the field and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the guides. Letaka Safaris is able, every time, to find off -grid new adventures, new learning of the wildlife and exciting experiences in my favourite Africa destinations. Drinking a sundowner G&T, overlooking a huge African sky before a delicious 3 course meal conjured magically from an open fire and finally retiring to a well appointed comfortable tent is a must for every wildlife enthusiast. I'm planning my next trip already -look out Letaka!!!
An outstanding Safari.
I had the pleasure of going on a Northern Highlights safari in Mach this year (2024). The Safari started at Xakanaxa airstrip and encompassed stays in the Moremi , Mababe river and Chobe game reserves.
There were six of us in the party, one couple had been twice before on safari with Letaka, another once before and this was the first time for my wife and I.
Our guide and team leader was local to this region and he is an extremely knowledgeable man with a great sense of humour. We all thoroughly enjoyed his company and learnt a lot from him. He showed us great tracking skills and was able to get the game viewer into position where the animals would pass giving us fabulous photograph opportunities! His knowledge of the flora and fauna is awesome, as is his passion for his job!
Botswana is blessed with a huge variety of flora and fauna, we saw many different species and filled several memory cards on the camera's!
We camped in very comfortable tents and loved the delights provided by the cook from his bush kitchen - the magic created from an open fire and various metal boxes is oustanding! We moved every three days and had incredable sightings at all of our camps, at one point seeing the formation of a super heard of Elephant.
The whole team looking after us has a wonderful attitude that was very infectious, we will be coming back to do another trip with this company - this is genuinley a great Safari company and the fact that people come back is in itself the best reccomendation.
Truly the best company and only way to safari and see the delta
This was my second Safari with Letaka as I just had to come back. This time I bought my mother along for this Safari and I chose Letaka as I wanted a company to take great care of her and they sincerely did. Just like they did for me on my first safari. I again booked direct with Letaka and not through a agent. As the communications from the start of booking all the way through to the end of the Safari were exemplary. Any queries or issue's were always answered promptly no matter what they were. The actual safari was amazing saw plenty of animals from elephants to lions, wild dogs to leopards and many more. I can honestly say its true what the company prides itself on "the quality of there guides". Our guide was amazing he always went out his way to find the amazing wildlife sightings, from the tracking to observation of surroundings. The service and other camp staff were amazing, there dedication and there quality, plus the quality of the safari, the enjoyment me and my mother had was just as good as my first trip with them. So no matter how many times you go with Letaka the service and quality is always maintained which is nice to see unlike with some company's. I would not hesitate at all in recommending Letaka Safari's as I know you will not be disappointed.

We have every reason to recommend Letaka Safari to anyone we know or we don't know.
First of all, communications regarding booking were efficient and we always got prompt, helpful, and sincere replies. Not many companies can achieve this, so we saw the difference there already. As we were not too familiar with the Safari in Botswana, good communication with helpful information meant a lot to us.
The safari voyage itself went super fun and exciting while we had comfort and safety provided by the professional staff/guide. We had nothing to worry about, the staff prepared everything, the food was delicious, and afternoon tea and coffee every day with freshly baked cakes from the bush oven! Our tent was comfortable, with a private shower and bathroom. Tent safari was a great option, to be close to nature! Everything the staff did for us was special and welcoming energy every time we returned to the camp from safari was joyful. It still makes us smile. Our guide was very professional and knowledgeable. His confidence and performance all together was excellent. Not forgetting to mention driving skills in the rough road! We enjoyed it fully as a full package! Absolutely no complaints! We will definitely return with Letaka Safari!
