Wonderful 5-day Mount Kenya Trek with a great team
I had a fantastic time doing a 5-day trek to Mount Kenya with Mountain Hiking Ventures. The communication with Irene during booking and pre-departure was smooth and she answered all of my many questions that I had. I met my excellent guide Kevin and porter Stanley at the office on the morning of departure where I also left my suitcase while going on the trek. We travelled by a shared minibus to Nanyuki where we also picked up the equipment I rented and then started the trek in the afternoon. The trekking itself was amazing with beautiful views. Kevin kept a good pace throughout the trek to help me adapt to the high altitude (I am an experienced hiker but I had not been to altitude above 2500 m before this trek). He was also always keen to tell me about the fascinating plants and animals we saw along the way (I am a biologist so this was very welcome!) and we had a great time chatting about life in Kenya. We reached the summit successfully which was amazing (but very cold and windy, even for a person who lives in Scotland!). The rest of the team, Stanley, Morris, and Naftari, were all super friendly and hospitable, always tried to make my experience as good as possible, and prepared some amazing meals for me (in fact, there was always more than I could eat!). I did the Sirimon Up and Chogoria Down version of the trip which I thought was a great choice with very good spacing of the camps along the elevation gradient and sufficient time to relax in the camps after hiking. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can absolutely recommend Kevin and the rest of the group to anyone who is considering doing this trek!

Professional
Overall the experience was excellent and we were lucky enough to see quite a lot of animals. Professional drivers and I also met other friendly tourists. Hotel is less fancy and has some power supply issues but it’s understandable given its location in the wild.

Amazing experience
I did the mount kenya by sirimon and chogoria road and seriously it was definitely the best experience of my life. Samy, Patrick, and John did the three-day hike with me and were incredible!! They took such good care of me, making sure I had everything I needed! Especially Patrick, who cooked me three excellent meals a day.
I will never forget it. Thank you again!!!

Considerration
It was great time and experience for me. To be honest, I worried about whether because it was rainy season and actually it was rain on the way. However, somehow We enjoyed spending the time on the way and on summit. All of us desired to see sunrise from summit, so I was really delight to share great moment with other members. I also appreciate supporting members such as porters, cooks and guides and at the same time I realized that they are so tough. Surely, It was difficult to accomplish the climbing schedule without them. At the end, I would like to recommend other friends who are willing to climb mountain in Kenya this tour company. Amazing tour with a great team!
I had an amazing tour in Mount Kenya with Mountain Hiking Venture. Our contact Emmah was very responsive, we communicated via WhatsApp. She organized the pick up in my hotel, transfer to Nanyuki by a shared shuttle (we had to wait until the shuttle is full before leaving, an African's experience!) and then the meeting with my guide Sam and his team (cooker+porter) at Nanyuki. Everything went very well. The food was great (vegetables, meat, fresh fruits, diverse meal). The landscape and the vegetation are amazing! I had my own tent ready at each camp. I took an extra day to acclimate to the altitude, which is also en excuse to stay longer and enjoy the mountain. I strongly recommend!

Great Safari experience on a budget
The value for money is really outstanding with mountain hiking adventures. Dot the organization and communication was really really smooth and our driver Alex was really motivated to show us as many animals as possible during the Safari. Everyone was very kind. The accommodation and the food were rather simple however, that was to be expected. Everyone was traveling on a budget. This is the perfect organization to choose.
Exceptional really well-organized mountain hiking trip
I recently enjoyed a fantastic mountain hiking trip in Mount Kenya National Park. The organization was top-notch! Thanks to a great guide Daniel and an amazing outdoor chef Patrick. The guide's friendliness and expertise made the hike rewarding, while the meals prepared by the chef were a delightful surprise. Flawless organization! Highly recommended!
