Seamless!
Nuhu has been a great safari game ride guide and driver. We were lucky to have seen the big 4 in our 2 days game drive, plus the commentaries given were superb. Frank the Alphard driver between Morogoro train station to Mikumi drove us safely. The accommodation crew at Lilac has given us A+++ service. Merice es the admin lady has been great organising the whole trip for us, party of 6 - 4 adults & 2 kids. So overall it aas SEAMLESS. Thank you all!

Nice tour operator
This was a nice tour operator. I've experienced a few safari operators over the years, both in Kenya and Tanzania, and this was one of the best. We didn't see african wild dogs, but I don't blame the guide, he really tried his best. We saw lots of other wildlife.
The walking safari on the last day was a bit of a silly infotainment show however.

Calm, heartfelt bush lodge in early development – spacious tents, lovely crew and true safari feel.
Our stay at this lodge has been a wonderful mix of comfort, warm hospitality, and a genuine bush atmosphere. The six large tents are surprisingly spacious and well-equipped, offering air conditioning, mosquito nets, a private bathroom, and a wide balcony—far more comfort than one would expect in such a remote setting.
The crew is exceptionally kind, motivated, and attentive. Every wish was accommodated with genuine care, and we always felt truly looked after. Meals are served either on the balcony of your tent or near the communal fire pit, creating a peaceful and intimate dining experience. At night, a Maasai escort guides guests between the tents and the main area, which adds safety and charm, especially given the wildlife roaming the area. We regularly saw warthogs and impalas just outside.
The lodge is still in development, which is visible in a few places: the pool and restaurant are not yet finished, and some additional road signs would make the arrival easier for future guests. Still, the atmosphere already feels wonderful. The cheerful “Hakuna Matata” welcome song for new arrivals adds a lovely touch, and the whole place is calm and relaxing. You can hear the nearby road at times, but that’s typical for the region.
Overall, we truly enjoy being here. It is peaceful, heartfelt, and offers a remarkable level of comfort for a lodge in the middle of the bush. We look forward to seeing how this place grows and are already happy to recommend it wholeheartedly.

Outstanding
We had an amazing 3 days / 2 nights at Camp Lilac. From the start, communication with Merice was outstanding : quick, kind and always helpful. The luxury tent was super comfortable, with the best bedding we’ve had on a trip, and the food was great. Our guide Michael made the safari unforgettable with his passion and knowledge. Excellent value for money, highly recommended, 5/5!

Simply wonderful!
We booked a three-day tour at very short notice. The pre-trip communication with Marice from Lilac Camp was fantastic. She made everything we had planned possible.
The drive from Dar es Salaam to the camp was fantastic. Our driver made a short stop during the trip so we could see giraffes and monkeys along the road.
When we arrived at Lilac Camp, we received a very warm welcome. Our lodge was wonderful! Surrounded by nature, completely isolated. The lodge was simple but with great attention to detail.
Our trip to a Maasai village was unforgettable. The tour through the village, the stories, and also the customs – wonderful!
On the second day, we went on a safari early in the morning. Our guide and driver made it possible for us to see all the animals up close. It was a tour just for the two of us, which made it all the more enjoyable! The whole drive left us speechless.
The third day was a truly special one. We drove to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Here, too, we were well looked after throughout! Our guide told us so much about the national park and left no questions unanswered. We'll certainly never forget the view of the waterfall!
We will always remember the entire experience. Highly recommended! Thanks to the entire team!

Rough land but warm and gentle people and luxorios rooms – Magic
From the moment we arrived at the camp, we were treated like royalty. The staff were absolutely incredible – warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our stay unforgettable. Every tent had its own dedicated Maasai guard, watching over us day and night, adding both a sense of safety and authenticity to the experience.
The tents themselves? Pure magic. Built with natural bamboo, high ceilings, and thoughtful design touches – like being able to watch the sunset from the bathtub or toilet! Waking up to views of the distant mountains, surrounded by the wild sounds of nature, was something I’ll never forget.
Meals were a highlight in themselves – delicious, fresh, and served in the most breathtaking setting imaginable. One day we dined in the middle of an open field in the savannah, with just our small group of four. You couldn’t even see the other tents, which made it feel like we had the whole of Mikumi to ourselves.
Evenings were spent around the campfire, dancing and singing “Hakuna Matata” under the stars – a moment of pure joy and connection.
