Amazing experience!!!
As there are many companies organising safaris in Tanzania, the first thing that caught my eye in Simbaland Magic Tours' s brochures was the different quality of the accommodations, which were all far more appealing! After I reached out to them for more information, I was amazed by the professionalism, the attention to the detail and the constant aim to satisfy us. Mariam is a miracle worker, the person behind the scenes who takes care of everything and adjusts the plan to one's needs. Our guide, Mr Msemo is so kind, respectful and has deep knowledge and experience in his domain. Although the long hours of game driving he never lost his spirit, always providing information about the animals, the people and the way of life in Tanzania. The lodges exceed our expectations and the food was excellent! Also as my luggage was lost between connecting flights, and I started the safari without it, they managed to retrieve it and send it to me during the safari, which was incredible! We had an amazing time, an experience of a lifetime and we are so grateful to have been so well looked after! We recommended Simbaland Magic Tours with all of our hearts!!!

Terrible car, trip hugely impacted
My 5 day safari with Simbaland Tours was mostly amazing - our guide was exceptional and showed us all of the animals we wanted to see in a limited time, including seeing the great migration in the very front row by the river.
However, the car that we were provided was visibly older and in worse condition compared to the other cars from other operators. The car had no front mirror (it fell off), there were cracks on both left and right side mirrors, and a long crack in the front window. No air conditioning, which meant we were breathing so much dirt dust when we had the safari roof closed.
Second day morning, the right side foot rest of the jeep started falling off from our ride from Tarangire to Serengeti. We had to stop twice on the way - once to try to keep it attached to the car (by tying it with a rope), and a second time to take it off and hang it on the roof of the car. This foot rest was hanging on the roof of the car from 2nd day lunch to 3rd day lunch during the game drives.
On the 3rd day lunch, we had to stop outside in a town of the Serengeti gate for 1 hour 45 minutes to fix the car - to put back the right side foot rest in its original position. We spent 20 minutes eating lunch while waiting, and rest of the time we were standing behind a tree in the heat.
Then, right after we passed Northern Serengeti gate, we had a flat tire. It took 1 hour to fix the tire. We could not do a game drive at Northern Serengeti this day, because we spent almost 3 hours fixing the car.
On the 4th day, stopped at a town to spend another 30 minutes fixing the tire.
On the 5th day morning, the foot rest that we fixed on day 3 was falling off again. We spent 30 minutes taking it off and hanging it back up. Because of this, we couldn’t fully close the roof all day.
Then, on the way out of Ngorongoro, we had a car accident as the driver was turning a curve and were stuck in the sand. We had to have another jeep pull our car out. Afterwards, we stopped again for 30 minutes to fix the tire again, which is when we started to worry about missing our flight back to Canada. As a result, we had to drive on the opposite side of the road very dangerously & fast for 3.5 hours before getting to Kilimanjaro International Airport extremely late.
All in all we stopped 8 times because of issues with the car, lost 5+ hours that could’ve been used to do game drives or spend time at the lodges. The car used to operate the safari by the company hindered our experience and we felt that we had to sacrifice a lot of our travel time here because of all the problems that the car had, that could’ve been avoided had the car been in a better condition and properly checked prior.
Unfortunately the car diminished the value of our trip. Having flown 30 hours for this once in a lifetime experience, it hurt to wait outside in the sun during the repair shop stops or wait in the car with no air conditioning in 30 degrees weather... I wanted to leave a honest review as I think it is important for anyone considering which safari operator to choose to have more visibility - as I don’t think anyone deserves the experience I had on their safari.

Posted on Sep 22, 2025Dear Amy
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your safari with us. We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed the guiding experience and that your guide was able to provide you with exceptional wildlife sightings, including the unforgettable Great Migration river crossing.
At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered with the vehicle during your trip. We fully acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the unexpected mechanical issues, repair stops, and the discomfort during transfers. This is far from the level of reliability and quality we strive to provide, and we regret that these interruptions took away valuable time from your safari.
We also wish to clarify that throughout your safari, we remained in regular communication with your guide and made daily follow-ups to monitor the situation. We understand that network coverage in the Northern Serengeti and other remote areas is often limited, and unfortunately, we only received complete feedback on the extent of the issues towards the end of the trip. This limited our ability to arrange a replacement vehicle in time. While we know it was not your responsibility to report these matters directly, please be assured that we did our best to follow up consistently, though the information reached us too late to take immediate action.
As you experienced, the roads in Tanzania’s national parks particularly in the Serengeti can be extremely rough, with rocks and potholes that sometimes cause breakdowns and flat tires, even with new and well-maintained vehicles. In your case, the flat tire and the damaged side step were unfortunate incidents that your guide attempted to address promptly. We would also like to emphasize that our safari vehicles are not old; the one used for your safari was manufactured in 2017, and we remain committed to keeping all our jeeps in excellent condition through regular maintenance.
Your feedback is very important to us, and we take it seriously. We are currently reviewing our vehicle inspection procedures and have introduced additional measures to minimize the likelihood of similar issues in the future.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and are grateful that you recognized your guide’s dedication despite the challenges. Your trust means a great deal to us, and we will use your feedback to further strengthen our service so that future guests enjoy a seamless and memorable safari experience.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies, and thank you for giving us the opportunity to host you in Tanzania.
Warm regards,
Transportation Manager

Unforgettable Safari in Tanzania
My daughter and I chose Simbaland Tours after careful consideration and after meeting with them and other companies in person in Arusha, as we were spending some time in Tanzania and had the chance to do so, rather than booking online only. From Heavenlight, we received fantastic communication and clear answers to all my questions. After visiting their office in Arusha, my daughter didn’t want to go with anyone else. Even though we had some unexpected issues at the beginning, they were fixed promptly, thanks to their clear communication and service. I am happy we chose Simbaland Tours. We were also glad to meet the boss, David, who was very clear in communication (something that is very important to me), and we had a great time on safari with Dominicks and Owen, who were fantastic and very knowledgeable guides. Plus, everyone was wonderful with my 7-year-old daughter, who loved her time on the safari. We would like to personally thank everyone at Simbaland Tours again. Thank you very much

What a life memory...
We searched at Google on May 2025 for safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater for August 2025 and we random found Simbaland Magic tours...From the first contact through WhatsApp we impressed of the kindness and professionalism of miss Miriam. She organized everything till last detail in order everything to be perfect. We spend 2 days at Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater with our driver Samuel. He was beyond and above and due to his experience 2 times the lions passed exactly in front of our jeep when same time the other jeeps drivers were searching for them with binoculars. Needles to say that we saw all big five and more from very close distance, which made that a life memory. In addition our stay at Suricata which was arranged by miss Miriam was above of our expectations. Thank you for everything and we appreciated your best efforts for our 2 days safari...

Fantastic experience, highly recommended, unforgettable experience
We took a private 7 day tour covering four national parks, including the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. From start to finish, the trip was absolutely incredible. Heavenlight was fantastic, she helped tailor our itinerary to match exactly what we wanted, and her communication throughout the planning process was excellent, making everything smooth and stress free.
Our guide, Meddy, was exceptional. He had a relaxed, flexible approach that allowed us to structure each day to our preferences. We saw an incredible variety of wildlife, far more than I expected, and often from just a few meters away.
The accommodations exceeded all expectations, there was even a spa in the heart of the Serengeti. Truly unforgettable!

An Unforgettable Safari Experience with Simbaland Magic Tours
We had an absolutely incredible safari with Simbaland Magic Tours in July — a truly unforgettable journey through the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. From start to finish, everything was well organized. The agency was always reachable and quick to resolve any minor issues along the way, which made us feel well taken care of throughout the trip.
Our guide was not only friendly but also extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife. Thanks to him, we learned so much and were able to spot an incredible variety of animals in their natural habitat — a dream come true!
The camps we stayed at were clean, safe, and offered delicious food after long days full of adventure. Every detail of the trip was thoughtfully planned, and we always felt comfortable and in good hands.
This safari will remain in our hearts forever, and we wholeheartedly recommend Simbaland Magic Tours to anyone looking for an authentic and well-organized safari experience.
