Amazing Addis Ababa City Tour & Cooking Experience
I spent 2 days with Liyu Ethiopia Tours and honestly it was such a great experience.
I booked a city tour and a cooking class in Addis Ababa. Everything was smooth from the beginning—both days the guide arrived on time, and the driver was very professional. The car was clean and comfortable, which made a big difference.
The cooking class with Mahi was one of my favorite parts. She is very friendly and explains everything in a simple and clear way. I really enjoyed the time with her—it didn’t feel like a class, more like cooking with a friend.
On the second day, I did the city tour with Oli, and he was an excellent guide. I learned a lot about Addis and Ethiopian culture, and he made the tour very interesting and relaxed.

Expert-led Harar tour
The tour with my local guide Niki, who has extensive knowledge of Harar, was a wonderful journey that allowed me to experience the vibrant present of Harar, learn about its rich history, and gain insight into its future development. As a Japanese traveler, I came to like Ethiopia even more through this experience. My driver, Tobie, was also very kind and helpful.

10 days in Ethiopia: an experience of a lifetime with Liyu Ethiopia Tours
Ethiopia is an incredible country, full of contrasts and deep cultural experiences. The rock-hewn churches of Lalibela are simply stunning – faith and history are tangible here. The visit to the Omo Valley was a real journey through time. The way of life and traditions of the tribes living here touched me deeply. And the Danakil Depression is as if it were not on this planet – the colors, the salt lakes and the heat are both extreme and beautiful.
Enjoying the wonders of Ethiopia with such a well-organized program was a real gift. Our tour guide was extremely prepared, attentive and friendly. You could feel that he did his job with his heart and soul.

Wonderful Ethiopia

It was a completely unknown and distant country for me. When I had the opportunity to travel here, I didn't think about it for a minute, go for it. Its area is 12 times larger than Hungary. Its population is around 130 million. More than 80 ethnic groups live here. And the rest and the rest. These are the dry facts.
But I was given:
· to see the lights of Addis under the evening sky,
· to wander through the thousand-year-old temples of Lalibela,
· to see the improbable colors of sunrise reflected in the salt desert,
· to travel for hours on the endless and at the same time incomprehensibly diverse volcanic landscape,
· to rise and fall between 2,500 meters above sea level and 120 meters below sea level,
· to experience the 47-degree heat - which can be 70 degrees in summer - when I sweated, the salt and sand stuck to me while the only way to clean myself was with a wet towel,
· to sleep on a mattress under a starry sky,
· to see the endless poverty of nomadic people, but they cling to their traditions and do not move to areas that seem more habitable to me
· to live the selfless helpfulness,
· meeting tribes, getting a glimpse into their everyday lives,
All this in complete safety.
