There aren’t really enough stars to write a review for Tansafari. There level of service is quite unlike anything I’ve experienced before. DO NOT waste your time going to a foreign travel agent when these are the guys who know your holiday inside out and upside down. We had 5 nights safari, 4 in Zanzibar including our 2 children who are 14 and 11 so it was pretty important to get everything right (it’s a bit daunting the prospect of taking your young family half way across the world on a holiday like this!). Jonas, ‘the boss’, who arranged the holiday totally understood what we wanted out of our time in Tanzania and all the choices of safari, hotel etc were superb and very good value. Billie in the office answered every minute detail and question we had from the moment we booked to the moment we went home almost instantly. Both of them even came to see us during the trip to check how things were going. Alfred our guide is probably the most experience ranger in Tanzania (15 years!) and such a lovely, humble, kind, knowledgeable, helpful guy – he was so flexible and had a complete sense of how we could make the most out of every minute we spend in the Tarangire, Ngorogoro and Serengeti. Honestly, they all feel like friends, not travel agents. I just can’t recommend them enough, they made our holiday a once in a life time experience without a moment of stress. Thank you everyone!

So many positive things to say about Tan Safari (Jonas and his team). From the very beginning I felt this was going to be a great experience. Jonas listened carefully and asked the right questions. He carefully drafted a 24 day trip that balanced my husband’s love of birding and our passion for safari while ensuring we had time for rest and relaxation. Our experience has typically been that other companies try to tell you what you want or over promise and still run you through their circuit; but guaranteed Jonas will plan with you a holiday that will fit for you and your budget.
We have travelled a fair bit (independently and private tours; with two self-drive safaris in the mix) and this is one of two companies we have ever worked with that have listened to what we were looking for and delivered beyond expectations. Jonas knows what it takes for a true safari experience.
Working together on an itinerary was seamless and delivery was better than hoped for. Tan Safaris’ service from point of contact to going home was second to none.
Our safari guide Alfred was incredible. He was not only great at drafting our daily game drives & birding itinerary, but he ensured things were going as we hoped, handled our camp check-ins, made wonderful suggestions, was courteous and of course ensured we had a fun and a safe journey.
The safari experience from seeing game to accommodation, food, etc. was all better than expected, and we know it’s due to the guiding. We went to 6 parks (Mkomazi, Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Parks; and Ndutu within Ngorongoro Conservation Area) and Lake Victoria. In our adventures we were fortunate to see the following:

- 10 cheetahs
- 5 leopards
- 2 rhinos
- 47 hyenas
- 300+ bird species
- 1000’s of wildebeest & zebras
- 100’s Cape buffalo
- 100’s of other antelope species and of course 300+ birds)

Dream tour, Alfredo made the trip!!
Our trip in Tanzania would not have been the same without our driver and guide. He was professional, calm, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire journey.
What stood out most was his awareness - he knew when to share insights and when to give us quiet space to enjoy the experience. He drove safely, handled everything smoothly, and always made us feel comfortable and well looked after.
Honestly, without him, the trip would not have been nearly as good. I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Tanzania.

The best safari ever with ukadi from tansafari tours
We had an amazing safari with the guide ukadi from Tensafari, he took care of everything for us and helped us with a suitcase that was delayed on the flight, he took us to the most amazing places on safari and knew how to find the most special animals, I'm sure without him the safari wouldn't have been as amazing as we had, we recommend him wholeheartedly, score 11 out of 10

Jonas and his team were just tremendous - really
made us feel welcome in their country. Our driver / guide JJ was very knowledgeable and pointed out many animals and birds to us. Five hours watching the wildebeest migration was amazing. Accommodation chosen was all lovely. We especially enjoyed Anantya Serengeti - we arrived late and the prepared a 5* dinner for us.
Jonas was very responsive to all our queries during the planning process and ensured we were comfortable about visas, dietary needs etc. Definitely would book again with Tansafari

Incredible trip of a lifetime to Tanzania and Zanzibar
We used Tansafari to arrange our two week trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar in October of 2024 for our family of three (two adults and one teenage girl). We live in Germany and the planning of our trip was over the course of a year. We had been to Tanzania before so we wanted to do a trip that was a bit off of the beaten path and Jonas sure delivered. We were able to stay in places that had few tourists. Communicaiton with him was fantastic from the start. We had so many questions, concerns, specific things we wanted to do and he was with us for the entire process. He always responded to us very quickly and paid careful attention to our wishes and put together a fantastic, memorable trip. We stayed in seven different hotels or lodges and all were fantastic. We had a fabulous guide, Myk Walcott for the week in Tanzania. He was calm, knowledgeable, took care of all of our needs, was a safe driver and an excellent game driver. We had a fantastic pop top game truck. We always had fresh cold drinking water, we were able to tailor the trip to our needs and wishes even when there. We got to go to a local market in Arusha and requested to visit an orphange near the Tarangire National Park to drop off supplies, that was a special experience. Every detail was pre-arranged and we had fantastic food, luches on the go, did a hike near Kilimanjaro, had unforgetable game drives. We always felt safe and like we were in good hands. With so many tour safari operators it is difficult to select one, know you will be in good hands with Tansafari. We already want to go back! They are highly recommended. We even got to meet Jonas in person during our trip.

Perfect experience...looking forward to be back!!!
I should mention that this was my third safari with Tansafari. The experience was perfect: Jonas is an attentive and precise person who takes great care of his clients. The guides (we were 2 jeeps and therefore travelled with Richard and Ukadi) are prepared, attentive, able to seize the moment and guide travellers to discover the landscape and the animals, offering detailed and thorough explanations. We went to Tarangire and Ngorongoro and in both parks we saw plenty of animals: Ukadi was able to spot any animal within the park!!! Also, the price is really honest. I really hope there will be a fourth time!!!
