Fantastic trip with an amazing guide!
5/5

Bush Craft Safaris organised an excellent trip for us, seamless from the airport greeting to the final day. Our guide, Mark, was outstanding. He is passionate, deeply knowledgeable about Uganda, and engaging to talk to.

Mark truly wanted us to have the best time possible. He went out of his way to find the best wildlife sightings on game drives, and even on long travel days, he added in great short stops to break up the drive. His attention to detail was immaculate (even ensuring washrooms were up to standard!). Highly recommend Bush Craft Safaris and Mark for an unforgettable safari!

Really excellent, going out of their way to ensure the best experience for their customers.
5/5

Gorilla tracking in Uganda has always been top of our bucket list, but we also wanted to see the best that Uganda could offer. Our guide, Mark and trainee Joel went out of their way to make sure our experience lived up to our expectations. They became more than just tour guides and ended up as friends by the end of the trip. The gorilla tracking was of course the highlight, but chimpanzee tracking and the boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, where we saw over a hundred elephants along the riverside, were also incredible. All of the lodges were wonderful, with excellent service, food and amazing scenery. Mark was a much more than a fabulous tour guide, always phoning ahead to make sure everything was sorted for our arrival. Bush Craft Safaris did a great job all round and I would thoroughly recommend them if you want a value for money and personable trip to Uganda whilst taking in all the sights this amazing country has to offer.

From affable professional to new friend on the trip of a lifetime
5/5

If you are reading this, trying to decide if you should book a safari with Bush Craft Safaris, allow me to allay any apprehension. BCS provided an absolutely amazing safari experience for my wife and I. We booked a 12 day safari with them. Our guide was Allan, and he was absolutely incredible. Allan was incredibly knowledgeable about the fauna and flora in his native national parks, often pointing out details and bits of information about the animals we saw that heightened the experience for us. Furthermore, he was an excellent driver and had deep knowledge of the parks we visited, which I believe helped us to see some things we might not have otherwise. Allan took excellent care of us, making sure we got everywhere we needed to on time, while also allowing us to spend as much time seeing the sights as we wanted. He was incredibly amenable to any slight alterations to the schedule we discussed with him. Also, he made sure we always had water and snacks (every day is a banana day). The accommodation that BCS booked for us was absolutely lovely, with nearly every location providing an experience that really immersed you in the feeling of being on an adventure and being so close to the surrounding natural beauty of Uganda. The food at every location was good, with some places having truly excellent dinners and lunches available. There was a nice mix of local cuisines and western food available nearly everywhere we went. Locals and staff we met were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The children were very cute and hilarious, often eyes going wife and shouting “mzungu!” excitedly and then waving emphatically. As far as wildlife, we saw nearly everything we could have hoped to. We were able to see the Big 5 and so many elephants, hippos, giraffe, crocodiles, monkeys, antelope, zebra and birds. Not to mention the countless other encounters of other wildlife ranging from mongoose to civet. Then of course the trekking days to see the chimpanzees, gorillas and golden monkeys were the highlights of the trip for us. Being able to see these majestic beings was truly something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The only negative I can think of is that the trip was truly over too soon.

As an extra note I would like to add that we visited during the recent Ebola outbreak. I feel it’s worth saying that Uganda is truly doing an excellent job to contain the outbreak and ensure the safety of its citizens and tourists alike. Nearly everywhere we went there were temperature check stations, and hand sanitizer/hand wash stations were readily available. Obviously everyone must make their own risk assessments, but it was our own personal experience that the risk was low and well controlled.

Truly I cannot say enough about how amazing with trip was. 10/10 rating and Bush Craft Safaris provided an experience second to none.

An Unforgettable Adventure
5/5

An Unforgettable Adventure with Bush Craft Safaris!
We recently returned from an incredible Uganda safari with Bush Craft Safaris, and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless, professional, and deeply memorable.
Our guide, Allan, was absolutely phenomenal. He did a superb job throughout the entire journey. His knowledge of the landscapes, culture, and wildlife is unmatched. Allan has an incredible eye for spotting wildlife; he managed to find so many animals that we would have completely missed on our own. Thanks to his expertise, dedication, and passion, we saw everything we had hoped for and more.
If you are planning a trip to Uganda, we highly recommend booking with Bush Craft Safaris and asking for Allan as your guide. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!

Amazing gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
5/5

It was a fantastic safari! It was amazing to be able to see the gorillas from such close up. Contacting the operator before booking was straightforward. Our questions were answered quickly and important information was shared in good time. We arrived a day earlier and were picked up in a private car at the airport, despite our late arrival time. We were also able to arrange the hotel for our first night in Kigali easily and cheaply through them in advance. Our fantastic guide Bruce accompanied us throughout the trip. Along the way, he told us more about the life, culture, and rich history of both Rwanda and Uganda – always with a big smile and a sense of humour. He constantly checked whether we were still enjoying ourselves, if we wanted to take photos, or if we needed anything. He also helped us with all the formalities at the border, so we could continue our journey quickly. Thanks to him, the long journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park flew by. The accommodations were as shown, all high-quality and chosen for their stunning views and excellent locations – especially the boat trip to the lodge on Lake Bunyonyi. The lunches en route and the dinners at the lodges were also delicious. Don’t forget to bring some small change so you can tip the staff. In the end, we were allowed to spend an hour with the gorilla family. The rangers did everything they could to ensure we found the family quickly (within an hour!) and that we could see the animals as clearly as possible from just a few metres away. Even when we had to cross the river, the rangers didn’t hesitate to get their feet wet for our sake. A truly wonderful experience and service! We enjoyed every moment – thanks in large part to our guide Bruce – and would recommend it to everyone.

Fascinating experience
5/5

Our 3-day/2-night gorilla tour in Uganda.
An unforgettable experience.
The communication, organization, and availability from Bushcraft were excellent.
Bushcraft took care of booking everything: gorilla permits, accommodations, transportation with a driver, and local guides.
Our travel companion (driver), Allan, proved to be a wonderful person. Always ready to answer our questions, always there for us in various situations. Very friendly and never intrusive. We had a great time together.
The transportation was well-maintained and provided with water and banana chips (every day is a banana day).
The accommodations for the two nights, one in the mountains, the other on the lake, were stunning with beautiful views. The welcome, the room, the staff, the locations, and the atmosphere were excellent.
The highlight, the sighting and being in the company of mountain gorillas, was a unique experience.
The Pygmy folklore, with its songs and dances, was equally as impressive.
The boat ride on the lake was wonderful, with numerous sightings, including the splendid gray crowned crane.
We recommend this company and their driver.
