Wonderful Experience
I recently completed an amazing Botswana tour with Africa Uncovered Safaris.
Right from the start Archie was very helpful, with his emails being prompt and professional.
I had make an adjustment to their standard itinerary to fit my schedule and this was no problem.
On the tour our guide was Norman, such an enthusiastic and cheerful person who made the journey extra memorable.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Africa Uncovered Safaris and would not hesitate to join one of their tours again if I return.

Couldn’t fault our trip!
I found this small but excellent company through safari bookings. It was exactly the trip I wanted without having a long drive from Windhoek or Johannesburg. Don’t be concerned that it’s not one of the bigger tour operator names - the company is long established and it being smaller and more local means the itinerary can be flexed and adapted so that it’s perfect for you.
You can pick any date to go - and we ended up having it to ourselves which was amazing.
All the accommodation was great - Elephant Sands an absolute highlight but it was all comfy, clean and good facilities.
The jeep was comfy (needed when on some Botswana roads!) and had regular stops on the long journeys.
Excursions also good - we added on the delta flight which we loved. The Delta night stay was fascinating. We saw loads of animals across the game drives and river cruise.
Food and soft drinks included - and not just ‘you can pick from three options’, you have choice of the whole menu and just pay for any alcohol.
The people of Zimbabwe and Botswana are the kindest we have ever met - always greeting you with a smile.
And then to our guide Norman - what a joy. He had his 25th birthday with us in the Delta so we shared a few beers. We learnt so much from him about Botswana and Zimbabwe - a complete font of knowledge. Great fun too - we had lots and lots of laughs with him and we will definitely stay in touch.
He asked us on the last night how he could improve - we honestly had nothing to say - couldn’t ask for more. We’re already thinking about our next trip to Southern Africa, and Africa Uncovered would be our first choice.

Great safari experience in Botswana
We had a wonderful safari experience in Botswana with Uncovered Africa. The service was excellent throughout the entire trip, and our guide, Norman, was a big part of what made the experience so enjoyable.
Norman was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and extremely patient. He stayed with us throughout the trip and took great care of us, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience. His enthusiasm and attention to detail made our safari both relaxing and memorable.
The only downside for us was the camping experience. While it was certainly an authentic safari experience, sleeping in a tent and the overall camping conditions may not be the most comfortable option for older travelers. For younger or more adventurous travelers, however, it could be a great experience.
Overall, we were very happy with Uncovered Africa and especially appreciated Norman’s excellent service. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable Botswana safari.

Incredible memories – trip of a lifetime
Our 7-day Botswana Magic and Incredible Victoria Falls trip with Africa Uncovered exceeded our expectations.
The booking process was very smooth, and Archie replied instantly to any questions we had. When we arrived at Victoria Falls, we were picked up by our guide, Tafara. On our way to the hotel, he recommended that we visit the Victoria Falls early the next morning, offered to pick us up, and even organized a guide for the falls (thank you, Peace, for your explanations!). That was an amazing start to our holiday!
Following that, we had days planned at Chobe National Park, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans close to Nata, the Okavango Delta (our highlight), and later Elephant Sands. We saw a total of 5 lions, as well as many elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, flamingos, ostriches and many more animals. Our highlight was the overnight camping experience in the Delta, with the walking safari and the Mokoro ride. Our guide, Ottis, was very knowledgeable and showed us his skills in animal tracking. Thanks also to the entire camping team for the good food and the overall organization!
Our biggest thanks go to Tafara. Tafara always made sure we felt comfortable and shared many insights with us about animals, culture and nature. We cannot thank him enough for how engaged he was and how much he cared about making this a memorable trip for us!
The hotels were well chosen, and all activities were well organized. Tafara accompanied us to all meeting points and always checked in with us when we returned from our activities.
Thank you Africa Uncovered for making this a trip of a lifetime!

Archie is very easy to work with and very flexible and helpful
My Husband, daughter and myself visited Zimbabwe and Botswana for about 12 days and we had the best experience ever.
We started planning in May which was a little late. I contacted Archie after reading excellent reviews online.
Archie from the beginning was very easy to work with and gave good suggestions and booked excellent accommodation .These accommodation by themselves very so good that we felt we should have spent 2-3 days in each of them.
We missed connecting flight in Addis Ababa and went 1 day late to Zimbabwe. Archie quickly rearranged the Itenery, so in the end we did not miss anything that we had originally planned.
Muza , our guide took the experience to the next level. He is a very reliable and knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to make our trip as comfortable as possible. His passion for what he does is commendable. We felt very safe with Muza.
Thank you Archie and Muza for making our Zimbabwe and Botswana experience a memorable lifetime experience . I will definitely recommend Africa uncovered to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Responsive and fun
My husband and I completed a 6 day safari with Africa Uncovered last week and we still cannot believe how good it was. From the very beginning of planning our itinerary, we were impressed with Archie’s responsiveness. He got back to us quickly and always offered to meet our expectations. He was able to build an itinerary which was exactly what we wanted.
Our guide Tafara met us at the airport and as it was a late night arrival took us straight to our accommodation, which was lovely. The other family who were supposed to join our group had cancelled, so we ended up with Tafara all to ourselves for the full week. How lucky were we? He gave us some suggestions for the next day, to make the most of the time we had and that first day was amazing. Tafara suggested we had enough time to cross the border into Zambia, so we took the opportunity to and so glad we did. We were taken to a reserve where we saw elephants, giraffes, and most importantly white rhinos.
We had 2 days in Victoria Falls, then 2 days in Hwange, and 2 days in Botswana. All our transfers and border crossings were done with a minimum of fuss. Some of the drives were very bumpy, but that’s not the company’s fault. Just relax and enjoy. And if you relax enough, you may even doze off, as I did.
Our safari drivers were very good, always safe and mindful of the animals we were watching. All our guides were friendly and obviously enjoy their jobs.
We are already planning a return trip to visit other countries on Africa Uncovered’s menu. We can highly recommend this company and Tafara in particular as a guide.

High quality seamless safari
I did a trip to Zimbabwe and Botswana with Africa Uncovered Safaris. It was my fourth safari in Africa but my first time with this company. I was very impressed from start to finish. Archie made the planning aspect very easy and let me change the itinerary to suit my interests. The choice of accommodations was fantastic: everywhere was extremely clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The game viewing was excellent, I saw lions in almost all of the game drives I did, alongside elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, giraffe, hippos, buffalo, crocodiles etc. I didn’t see any leopard or cheetah but it’s the wild, not a zoo, so these things cannot be promised. I saw loads of interesting birds and wished I had bought a bird book with me to learn more. The boat cruise on the Zambezi river was a highlight for me. I was actually intending on skipping this but Archie really recommended it and I’m so glad I did it. I did a day trip into Zambia to see rhinoceros in a protected area which was lovely.
As a solo female traveler I felt extremely safe with my guide Norman and under the care of Archie. One of the guides in Hwange called Simba was fantastic too. During the Victoria falls tour, I had a female guide named Peace. She was brilliant. She told me that Africa Uncovered Safaris had specifically sought a female guide for me, knowing I am a female solo traveler, without me even asking - I was so impressed by this attention to detail.
The quality of the food was very good throughout the tour. Most of the food was halal. Everything ran on time and I knew exactly what to expect.
I would not hesitate to book with Archie again and I was delighted to hear he can also arrange safaris in Namibia and Zambia, I am already planning my next one. For this region I have found my ‘go to’ safari operator with Africa Uncovered Safaris.
If you are a solo female traveler please don’t hesitate, you will feel totally safe.
Tips and advice: the game drives are in open sided vehicles and it gets very cold in the early morning and evening so bring layers and a light down jacket!

Outstanding guide and company
I had the joy of being partnered with Norman for a custom 11 day itinerary from Victoria Falls to Botswana's Okavango delta and back. Arranging the itinerary was smooth and efficient and my preferences and requests were immediately incorporated. Norman was an absolute treasure! He chose restaurants to adjust to my meal preferences, made sure I was able to do any extra activities I wanted and always made sure I was satisfied with accommodations and experiences. We also had excellent conversations during the drives, and I left with a new friend. The entire experience was exceptional!
