A Christmas Surprise Safari!
December 25: My wife and I live and work in Uganda. I planned a 33rd anniversary surprise for my wife by having our children and their spouses fly in from the US for a week's visit. I contacted several tour companies, and Kate was the first and most efficient/professional in her response. She and Shafic, from Bushman Safari's, picked up our children from the airport while I set up the surprise in the hotel restaurant. I told my wife to expect a culinary surprise, but when the blindfold came off, instead of a table of food there sat our children! She was quite surprised: said she didn't know "whether to scream or cry!" After lunch Kate and Shafic took us to see the equator, which was a first time visit for our children's spouses, took many photos, did some memory making!
The next morning it was off to Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop to see the rhino sanctuary. Shafic was an excellent driver, while supplying us with much information/history of Uganda and its native wildlife. After seeing many animals on our way in to Pakubah Lodge, we all had an excellent dinner and nice, clean comfortable rooms for a good night's sleep. After a 0530 breakfast, Shafic took us to all the places where he knew the animals were hiding out! Leopard, lion, elephant, hippo and the giraffes, which are so graceful and elegant to watch! Took a boat ride up to the Falls, and later trekked up to the top of the Falls for a great view! Shafic knew exactly where to go for each place, everything was taken care of and went so smoothly! Kate, cooked up a surprise for our anniversary by having us (not the children) transported to another Lodge for the night, for a special dinner and a flower petal-decorated room just for us! It was well done and much appreciated! The next morning we saw even more animals, especially elephants as we headed to our residence in eastern Uganda for the conclusion of our time with Bushman. It was a great trip all the way, as Shafic dropped us off right in our driveway!
If you are looking for a superior tour company that will give you a great experience touring Uganda then I highly recommend Bushman Safari's without reservation! Kate handled every detail, and was very quick in responding to all the issues/questions that I had. Shafic was excellent in driving, we always felt safe, and he possessed a wealth of knowledge of all we experienced! Overall, a great time of memories for us and our children!

Holiday of my dreams
The team at Bushman Safari went above and beyond to make sure our time in Tanzania and Uganda were amazing. Our tour guides Camillus and Steven are skilled drivers, friendly, kind and so knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to ensure each day is adventurous but also make sure you are safe! Kate did an amazing job assisting us with organizing the travel plans and ensuring we get the best experience possible. Our safari experiences were incredible each day topping the one before! It just kept getting better and better! Our gorilla trekking was jaw dropping. I look back at my pictures in aww that they really happened. We highly recommend booking bushman safari for your safari / gorilla trekking dreams. You will not be disappointed!! Trust me!

Kate was incredibly helpful with our planning - accommodating our numerous individual requests and working with us to resolve questions or challenges with regards to planning. She was very quick to respond in communication and was eager to tailor the trip in order to meet our specific desires.
Our tour guides, Camillus (Tanzania) and Steven (Uganda), were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They kept us well informed throughout our experience and were a pleasure to have accompanying us.

The days were filled with a lot different things to see, nice places to stay at, breathtaking nature and a lot of wildlife. All the people we met throughout our travels were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
- Shafic was an amazing driver and made us always feel safe on the african roads. He has a lot of knowledge about nature, culture and animals (especially birds). He was always caring, flexible and funny.

Kate is amazing.
Kate arranged a fully Kosher 12 day safari including 2 full days fishing in Murchison Falls. We traveled with a new set of pots dishes and cutlery and in every lodge the chef cooked a kosher meal for us. It was all arranged in advance and it worked beyond our expectations. Kate called us many times before the trip to help plan all the little details and when we told her that we wanted to eat local dishes she invited us to her home for the first night dinner. Shafic our driver guide is incredibly knowlegable in all fields and lucky for us is an experienced birder which is one of our hobbies. Many times he stopped on the highway to see a bird on a pole or wire. He is a great driver and now I would call him a good friend.

Stephen is willing to go the extra mile!
Our tour started with a very long drive! Since I was able to sit up front, I had the opportunity to ask many questions. Stephen was ready to answer anything I could ask! Anything about the homes in different areas to the animals we would see on our safari. He was very knowledgeable and never seemed to mind being asked anything.
Our driver, Ronald, was amazing! He could navigate the roads like the professional he is. Always willing to help with packages or assisting me into the van, I felt comfortable and in good hands.
We had very nice rooms to rest after our evening safari. Our tour did not disappoint. Our group was split into 3 groups. Stephen was in my van. How fortunate for us! He could spot a lion or leopard from so far away! This would be my third safari, but I was still excited. I'm thinking what in the world could I see that would be different. Wow! All I can say is wow! Stephen found lions (male & female) with lion cubs. We saw a lion stalking its next meal then spring into action chasing it. We found leopards sleeping in trees, elephants with babies walking beside the road. Giraffes were galloping and playing - their long legs stretching so gracefully as they ran. There were monkeys and baboons, and tons of their babies close by. Upon calling it a day there was only one animal remaining that we had not seen. We were a bit sad but so very thankful for all we did get to enjoy. At dinner Stephen gave us the time to be up and ready to leave. He also informed us that we were going to find a hyena the next morning! He followed through on his promise and boy did we see a hyena then another and another. Running along the road. We were able to capture it all on video! Needless to say, Bushman Safaris delivered the full package! From the delicious food, the nice quiet restful nights and the excitement of seeing the magnificent animals, Stephen made our trip an extra memorable one! I will treasure the memories always!

Fully trustworthy, well organised safari company which delivers an outstanding trip
Just returned from a fantastic 12 day safari in Uganda with Bushman Safaris. We visited the Gorillas, of course, and also Chimpanzees and Golden tailed monkeys. A real privilege to get up close to these animals in their natural habitat and to be able to compare how they live and act together. We also travelled extensively on the usual tourist trail from Murchisson Falls (very impressive) in the West to Mgahinga in the far South. A beautiful country, very safe for tourists and where everyone we met was very welcoming.
We booked through Bushman Safaris which turned out to be an excellent choice. We had to cancel in 2020 due to Covid, and again in 2021, before finally managing to make the trip in 2022. Kate, in the office, was extremely helpful during this period, refunding money, making alterations to the trip as necessary to cope with changes to lodges and the availability of the primate licences. With her help we were able to personalise the trip to take in the activities we particularly wanted which was an added bonus.
The trip itself went very smoothly from when we were first met at the airport by Kate and Ayub, our guide and driver, until we were dropped back off to catch our return flight (at 0100 am!). Ayub was extremely knowledgable about the country, its flora and fauna, and worked hard to make it a fun trip for us all, even arranging an impromptu tea picking experience for us on the road as we drove past plantation which was great fun. We stayed in some fantastic lodges, all chosen by Kate, while Ayub made sure everything else ran to plan.
We were very much a mixed group; I am in my late sixties while my two sons and my daughter in law are in their thirties. The trip was superbly designed so that it was accessible and engaging for all and we have created some very special family memories in Uganda!

Best Safari EVER!!!!!!
This safari was the best part of my trip to Uganda. The guides are extremely knowledgeable, Katie helped me organize a last minute trip within minutes (I don’t know how she does it!), super fast communication, reliable, but the greatest part is the team’s hospitality and warmth. We did a multiple day tour across several regions with a few guides, Ayob, Arshley, Arnold, and each person was so special. It was like exploring Uganda with new friends. So memorable. I really did not want the trip to end. I hope to come back soon.
