Unforgettable Primate Safari Experience in Uganda and Rwanda!
My recent primate safari in Uganda and Rwanda was nothing short of spectacular! My partner and I embarked on this adventure with high expectations, and we were blown away by every aspect of our journey.
Our safaris planner, Nicholas and guides were exceptional. Their knowledge of the local flora and fauna, especially the primates, was truly impressive. Not only did they know where to find each species, but they also shared fascinating insights into their behaviors, habitats, and conservation efforts. We felt like we were in good hands throughout the entire trip.
In Uganda, we had the incredible opportunity to trek through the lush forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of mountain gorillas. Witnessing these majestic creatures up close in their natural habitat was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will stay with us forever. The hour we spent observing a gorilla family felt like mere minutes, as we were completely captivated by their interactions and gentle demeanor.
Moving on to Rwanda, we were thrilled to encounter the playful chimpanzees of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Watching them swing effortlessly through the trees and communicate with each other was both awe-inspiring and heartwarming. We also had the chance to track the elusive golden monkeys, which added an extra layer of excitement to our adventure.
Throughout our journey, the accommodations were top-notch. From luxurious lodges nestled in the heart of the wilderness to charming eco-friendly campsites, each place we stayed offered comfort, warmth, and a genuine connection to nature. The staff were incredibly hospitable, and the food was delicious, featuring a delightful blend of local flavors and international cuisine.
Our safari was a perfect blend of adventure, education, and relaxation, leaving us with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a truly immersive wildlife adventure in Africa. Huge thanks to our Great Explorers Safaris and guides for making this trip unforgettable!

Cheerful, polite and very helpful
Just returned from a brilliant 12 day tour with Great Explorers Safaris in Uganda. Our guide David was cheerful, polite, well organized and extremely knowledgeable on wildlife and all aspects of Uganda. Our close encounters with the chimps and mountain gorillas surpassed our expectations. This was one of the best trips we have ever done.

It was maverlous
Organized a family adventure together
We used Great Explorers Safaris for a family safari to start in Kampala, finish in Kigali, and include chimps, gorillas, Mweya etc. Overall they were very good. Nicholas who put the trip together was very helpful. He listened to feedback and adjusted the itinerary accordingly. The choice of hotels mainly was very good (we guided based on TA reviews). The guide and driver, Jules, was generally very good. He drove very carefully, was well-informed and very punctual. When asked he was very helpful. He could perhaps have been a little more interactive at times. I would recommend Great Explorers.

Our 4 days trip in Rwanda
Three friends and I took a 4 day tour with Great Explorers in Rwanda in February, primarily for the purposes of gorilla tracking. We were very pleased with the quality of the service we received. The company provided us with a comfortable, clean, and well equipped vehicle. The guide, David, was knowledgeable and professional. He was flexible and, once he had established what some of our interests were, he went out of his way to try to accommodate those. He was thoughtful and attentive and we really couldn't have asked for more from him

It was so good and lovely
Wonderful Gorilla trekking experience.
We recently visited this wonderful country Uganda and used Great Explorers Safaris as our ground handler. The staff are so timely, professional, and flexible and provided different options for us to choose from.
Our contact person Nicholas was exceptionally good, he was always timely and provided every details to help us plan and choose the best activities to do. We had game drives in the different parks and ended with the highlight of the Gorilla trekking in Bwindi, Oh My Lord, everyone should come see these amazing animals, and so gentle yet gigantic, it was the highlight for us.
The vehicle we travelled with was comfortable, clean and in good mechanical condition, , we technically didn’t have to deal with any break downs. Our guide Veronica was the best, Female yet doing a gentleman’s work, she literally went all the way to make sure we enjoy every bit of our safari, am sure next time we visit again, we would love to use her. A big thank you to the entire team especially Nicholas and Vero, Great Job.
