My friend and I booked a 5 day safari with Khalanga and were absolutely BLOWN away!! Shoes was our guide, and from the very first contact we were so impressed with his professionalism. He helped coordinate our private safari via email, he was very quick to reply and so helpful coordinating and planning a safari exactly to our meet our requests/desires. When we arrived and started the tour with Shoes we quickly realized that there was no one better than Shoes!! He was so very passionate about the beautiful park and animals, he taught us so much about the flora and fauna and shared with us his knowledge, expertise and passion for conservation. We were so grateful to learn about his ancestral land and the Khalanga peoples. Shoes is such a lovely and joyous personality! He is also an incredible cook!! This trip was truly the best vacation of our lives - it was so much better than our wildest dreams. I recommend Khalanga safaris and Shoes 100%!!!! Amazing Adventures with Khalanga
Wow! What an amazing adventure we had with Shoes from Khalanga Safaris in Kruger National Park. During our 5 days we saw all big 5 along with so many other interesting animals. Shoes was an excellent guide- he could spot animals that we never would have noticed- big animals at a distance, a snout poking out of the water, an owl hiding in the shadows, a chameleon crossing the road. He also knew EVERYONE and got tips that helped us find snoozing lions, rare birds nibbling in the grass, a leopard munching on an impala in a tree and more! He was interesting to talk with and shared his extensive knowledge with us about all that we were seeing. He cooked us delicious meals and his hospitality helped us enjoy all the moments of our experience. Thank you so much for your guidance and for sharing this time with us. HIGHLY recommended!
Perfect 5 Days Private Tour
From the airport pick up to the safari in the Kruger including the return trip everything was well organized! Everything was as discussed by email; all of our questions were answered right away and we felt well looked after.
The Soweto Tour on the first day was very impressive and our guide helped us understand the history of South Africa. On the way to Kruger we discovered that Panorama Route Highlights were included in our itinerary – this is a great landscape worth a visit!
On the safari, Dereck our guide shared his vast knowledge of the animals and their natural environment in South Africa with us. The absolute highlight was a group Lions sleeping on the river bank. We saw almost all of the Big Five except for the leopard, but we spotted many animals up close (giraffes, zebra, elephant, etc.)
A safari with Khalanga Safaris by Dereck and Shoes is highly recommended! They compiled a perfect package for us and always made sure we had a wonderful journey.

Khalanga Safaris is definitely a 10/10 in our books, so much so that I was already planning the next trip with my partner prior to the tour finishing. Our guide Shoes was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and really took the time to teach us about all types of wildlife and their habitats. The trip was very affordable and planned incredibly well where we were able to venture for bushwalks, check out different camps and stay in different bungalows and even have bush braais/BBQ’s and meals at Krugers restaurants, all while getting up close and personal to the worlds most beautiful animals roaming free and happy.
It was nice to have some traditional home cooked meals made by Shoes and also a big thanks to his wife Johanna as well for going through the effort to bake us some delicious FRESH hot German bread and soft lemon cookies for our game drives which were an absolute treat! On a personal note I had accidentally left my headphones behind after the trip and Johanna was incredibly helpful in finding them and posting them to me. Thanks again and looking forward to our next 6 day tour

Amazing safari
Can only recommend Khalanga Safaris. Our 5 trip with Shoes as field guide was fantastic. Shoes has a great knowledge of wildlife, birds, landscape and fauna. Driving with Khalanga Safaris is never boring. Shoes is friendly, really funny and has a great knowledge. We really like watching birds, Shoes know a lot about birds, and did a lot to show us new species and different experiences.
Our 6 trip with Khalanga Safaris must include overnight stays in the park.

Incredible and interesting experience
The tour with Shoes was the best experience in our vacation. He is really knowledgeable and have a lot of experience. We learned a lot and could explore the Kruger-Nationalpark in our own pace. He did the extra miles and tried everything to give us a wonderful and stunning experience. The all in all price performance is perfect. He has an answer for every question and is communicative.
The two days where awesome and we can definitely recommend this company to everyone.
