Unbelievable experience!!!
5/5

MTT is simply the best! Leslie is more than just knowledgable about Africa. She lives it and loves it. MTT provided me with excellent options and was able to arrange the perfect trip for my chaotic schedule. Her guest house, Cheza, was the perfect place to land when I arrived and before I left. It is fully-accomodated and extremely comfortable. The trip details were perfect. I didn't pay any more than if I had booked it myself, but Leslie took care of the headaches that go along with this kind of trip making my stay flawless!!! A world of thanks and I will be returning soon.

A complicated itinerary made simple and everything went smoothly right down to our airport transfers
5/5

We absolutely loved our trip. Leslie is an amazing agent. We felt very cared for and her suggestions made the trip
absolutely pleasurable. In three short weeks, we went from trekking Gorillas in Uganda, to going on safaris in the Mara and South Luangwa without a glitch. Her recommendation for each leg was excellent. Leslie is very responsive to our needs and she is very knowledgeable. We had an amazing time and unforgettable experience! Thank you Leslie.

Perfectly curated and executed for our group preferences.
5/5

If you are going to book a safari, book through Mama Tembo. We did a 3 week family safari driving through Zambia visiting national parks and taking in the culture. Leslie was able to perfectly consider the needs and wishes for our entire group (4 people aged 35 - 75). We all had the trip of a lifetime and were able to have an incredible shared family experience. We look forward to going back to more safaris in the multiple other countries where Mama Tembo organizes Safaris.

Leslie constructed the perfect holiday for us which was beyond our wildest dreams.
5/5

We contacted several tour companies who were very slow to reply before finding Mama Tembo Tours. Leslie listened to our requirements, considered our budget and very quickly came up with suggestions for our holiday. She was very patient, tweaking her original itinerary until it was just right for us. We were lucky enough to meet Leslie as our first night was at a camp near where she lives. The holiday was amazing. Every place we stayed was excellent and transfers between camps in the various parks smooth despite the long distances involved. If you are planning a safari holiday in Africa, try Mamo Tembo Tours, you will be delighted!

Touring Zambia by Car
5/5

I explained to Leslie of MTT that my husband I are different from other tourists, we actually want to see the country Zambia and not fly from one camp to another like others. We are interested in the people, the history of a country and we also wanted to see the animals.
Leslie arranged to have Paul take us all around Zambia over a three week period in a private car. Paul is a wonderful guide and a safe driver who seemed to know everybody in the whole country. We spent several nights in various bush camps and when camps were not available we pitched our own tents in the wild, helped Paul cook our own dinners and breakfasts. What a wonderful way to spend a holiday. We are thankful to Leslie for spending the time and effort to make our trip a memorable one. We have been in many places in this world, but Zambia stands out as the best place to see animals without the heard of tourists in your face.

Outstanding safari
5/5

I visited Zambia for the first time on a MTT tour with my mother, and could not have been happier with our experience. Leslie from MTT organized a unique safari where we were able to incorporate two different National Parks (South Luangwa and Kafue) and visit some very special areas off the beaten track. The vehicle that was provided for the safari was lovely, and our driver for the duration of the trip was wonderful. Leslie was prompt in all of our correspondence and nothing was left out in the organization of the trip. She has such a wealth of information and experience, and provided us with a truly tailor-made experience. I would recommend MTT to anyone considering a safari, and I will certainly travel with MTT again in the (hopefully near) future.

A personalized 'tailor made' safari
5/5

Based in DRCongo, I wanted to visit neighboring countries but did not have time to do all the research myself - I knew I wanted to go to Victoria Falls, and then on a safari. When I contacted Leslie, with these few details, she came back to me within 12 hrs, with a couple of options and clearly was able to understand what I wanted. She followed up closely and we were able to wrap up the trip quickly (it was rather short notice!). Leslie suggested Muchenje Lodge in Chobe, Botswana (had not thought about Bots in the first place). Although it was a bit beyond my budget in the first place, I followed her advice: going out of busy Kasane, and do not regret it for a second! It was a fabulous trip and I enjoyed every bit of it. It was all very different experiences, South Luangwa in Zambia, Chobe in Botswana and Vic falls ...quite unique - Seeing the falls at high water is fabulous.
The two parks were also different, Kafunta Lodge in South Luwangwa NP in Zambia, is lovely, a beautiful surrounding, with great, long game drives. The ones by night are also surprising (first time I got to do that). I was lucky to see leopards on each game drive! The night Hippo concerts are also unique.
Chobe is different: there are very large elephants groups. Muchenjee Lodge is really nice and friendly particularly with that large table. Both teams were really nice, and knowledgeable.
Zig Zag Lodge in Livingstone is definitely good value for money (probably the best), the team is also very helpful and keeps this easygoing feel. I did enjoy staying there and the freedom of planning my own programme there. Just like I enjoyed having everything organised in the lodges.
Leslie knows how to get around this part of the world and offers very good advice according to your wishes.

It was absolutely amazing.
5/5

This safari surpassed all expectations. It was my second safari with MMT and my granddaughter's first. This safari was in Uganda and the first one was in Tanzania. We both still talk about Uganda. Leslie was very prompt in answering all our queries, the service was excellent, and the experience was superb. I wouldn't hesitate to make another booking with MMT.

Experienced, responsive, and straightforward
5/5

Leslie took on the job of arranging a logistically challenging safari for my husband and me to Gabon and she did an outstanding job. All along she was very straightforward with us about what to expect and very responsive to our questions and requests. She is extremely knowledgeable about Southern Africa and very resourceful in dealing with the logistical challenges of getting her clients to and from less well traveled destinations. She is also passionate about protecting Africa's remaining wildlife. I would recommend her highly, and especially to those adventurous travelers looking for the road less travelled.

The trip of a life time!!!!
5/5

When my husband and I first started planning our safari, we contacted a couple of companies but none really put the effort into finding out what we really wanted to see and do. Then we were fortunate enough to be referred to Leslie of Mama Tembo Tours and everything fell into place. Leslie gave us options and called us so we could communicate by phone which was much more productive. She arranged everything to perfection and even when we were late arriving, our driver, Lyimo, was waiting for us.
Leslie has surrounded herself by quality employees. Lyimo's knowledge of the wild life and birds of Africa is amazing. Each day we learned so much and were in awe of his ability to locate animals for us to view. Thanks to him, we got many amazing pictures.
Safety is another big issue and it was easy to tell that Leslie stressed this to her employees. We never felt threatened by any situation (animals or camps that we stayed at). Each camp had staff who would walk you back to your tent after dinner in case there were animals about.
Some of the highlights of our trip were visiting the Leaky museum at Oldupai Gorge, hunting with the bushmen and of course watching the wildebeest crossing the Mara River. We got up close and personal with so many animals, it would take a whole book to describe these events.
The only disappointment in the whole trip was the fact that the fridge in our land cruiser wasn't working so we had to drink warm water. In the grand scheme of things, this is a very small negative but it was the only one I could think of and when doing a review, it should include both positives and negatives.
Needless to say, my husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Mama Tembo Tours!
