Contract variations
The prices listed on our website may be altered without prior notification; nonetheless, we will strive to uphold them. Should there be any modifications in Government Taxes or Levies that impact the stated rates, Journey Quest retains the authority to transfer any increases exceeding 5% to either an agent or a client.
Payment Policy
A payment of 35% is necessary upon booking. The remaining balance is to be settled 45 days prior to the start of the tour program. In cases where the reservation occurs within 45 days of departure, the full amount is required at the time of confirmation.
Children Policy:
Children under the age of 3 who share a room with an adult will be accommodated free of charge, with a maximum of two children allowed. For children aged 3 to 12 years, the charges are as follows: they will incur a fee of 50% of the adult rate when sharing a room with two adults, 75% of the adult rate when sharing with other children, or 100% of the adult rate when sharing with one adult. Please note that no discounts apply to holiday rates or other supplements. This policy may differ between properties, so we recommend confirming the details with us.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations are required to be submitted in writing. Since all suppliers impose cancellation fees, these charges are subsequently transferred to us. Reservations that are cancelled, shortened in duration, or have a reduced number of occupants will incur cancellation and no-show fees. Below is the schedule for cancellation charges.
_ 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35days prior to arrival
_ 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.
_ 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24hours prior to arrival
Itinerary Changes:
While we strive to adhere to established schedules, it is essential to recognize that hoteliers in Kenya may occasionally need to modify safari routes due to unforeseen circumstances. Such circumstances may include seasonal rainfall impacting bush tracks, airfields, and game areas, as well as game migrations across regions or complications related to airline and other reservations. Journey Quest will promptly notify you of any adjustments to your itinerary or accommodation.

Per-person rate (P/Pax): This is the expense incurred for a client sharing a twin or double room with another individual.
Single Room Supplement (SRS): If a client desires to occupy a room alone, an additional fee must be applied to the "per person sharing" rate.
Tipping: Gratuities are not factored into the overall costs; however, the following schedule serves as a guideline for guests who may wish to express their appreciation for the services provided by the staff.
Suggested gratuities are as follows:
Waiters: USD 1-2 per table for each meal (lunch and dinner)
Porters: USD 1-2 for every two guests per porter
Driver/Guide: USD 3-5 per person per day
Baggage:
The baggage allowance for domestic flights is limited to 10 kilograms per individual, which encompasses hand luggage. It is recommended to use soft-sided luggage or duffel bags rather than hard-shell suitcases for ease of storage on safari vehicles and aircraft operating within East Africa. Suitcases exceeding the dimensions of 24 inches by 17 inches by 7 inches cannot be accommodated in vehicles or on aircraft and should be avoided. Please note that all baggage and personal belongings are the responsibility of the owner during the tour, and it is highly recommended that participants obtain baggage insurance.
Accommodation Pricing:
The quotation is provided based on the assumption of double occupancy, with an additional charge indicated for single room usage. The rate encompasses lodging at the hotels and lodges specified in the itinerary, utilizing standard room accommodation.
Holiday and seasonal supplements:
Many hotels and lodges in East Africa impose an additional fee during the Easter, Christmas, and New Year holidays. In return, they offer special festive meals, entertainment, or similar amenities, and may also mandate a minimum number of nights for booking confirmation. Nevertheless, evening entertainment is infrequently available in safari lodges and camps, as excessive noise can disturb the local wildlife.
NOTE: - It is important to be aware that certain reservations may extend across two different seasons, rendering the seasonal rates for accommodations inapplicable. In these instances, we encourage you to reach out to us for customized quotations that accommodate both seasons.
