1. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once Dakot Kenya Explorers receives a deposit and issues a written confirmation (email/WhatsApp).
Clients must provide full names as per passport/ID, travel dates, and any special requirements.
All quotations are subject to availability at the time of booking.
2. Payments
Deposit: 30–50% (varies by season and lodge policies).
Balance: Payable 30 days before arrival.
Bookings made within 30 days require full payment.
Payments can be made via:
Bank Transfer
M-Pesa
Online/credit card (if applicable)
Bank or transfer charges to be borne by the client.
3. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing. Penalties apply as follows:
More than 45 days: Full refund minus bank charges
30–45 days: 30% of total tour cost
15–29 days: 50% of total tour cost
Less than 15 days or No-Show: 100% of total cost
Some lodges/camps have stricter policies, which supersede the above.
4. Amendments
Changes to travel dates, number of guests, or accommodation are subject to availability.
Price differences due to seasonality or room availability must be paid by the client.
Last-minute changes may attract an administration fee.
5. Pricing & Inclusions
Quoted prices include only items listed under Inclusions in the itinerary.
Prices exclude:
Visa fees
International flights
Tips & personal expenses
Travel insurance
Prices may change due to:
Park fee adjustments
Tax changes
Lodge/camp policy changes
Currency fluctuations
6. Child Policy
Children’s rates vary by lodge/camp.
Proof of age may be required at check-in.
Parents/guardians are responsible for child safety at all times.
7. Safari & Travel Rules
To ensure safety and conservation:
No standing or sitting on vehicle roofs.
No feeding or disturbing wildlife.
Obey guide instructions at all times.
Night movement within lodges/camps requires escort where applicable.
Dakot Kenya Explorers will not be liable for injury caused by ignoring guide instructions.
8. Travel Insurance
Clients are strongly advised to carry comprehensive travel insurance, covering:
Medical emergencies
Evacuation
Lost baggage
Trip cancellation
Dakot Kenya Explorers does not provide insurance.
9. Force Majeure
Dakot Kenya Explorers is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by:
Weather
Natural disasters
Political unrest
Strikes
Flight delays
Government actions
Refunds in such situations depend on suppliers’ (lodges, airlines, parks) policies.
10. Liability
Dakot Kenya Explorers acts as an agent between clients and service providers (hotels, airlines, parks).
We are not liable for:
Illness, injury, death
Loss or damage to property
Delays or service failures caused by third parties
However, we always strive to provide support and alternatives in case of any disruptions.
11. Transport
Safari vehicles are 4x4 Land Cruisers or Vans depending on the package booked.
Vehicle sharing may occur unless a private safari is booked.
In case of mechanical failure, a replacement vehicle will be provided as soon as possible.
12. Health & Safety
Guests must disclose any medical conditions or disabilities at the time of booking.
Some destinations (e.g., high-altitude or malaria zones) may require special precautions.
13. Complaints
Any complaints must be reported immediately to the guide or office team so corrective action can be taken.
Post-trip complaints must be submitted within 7 days of tour completion.
14. Governing Law
All disputes are governed by the laws of Kenya.
