The Wildside Safari Company is a full Destination Management Company specializing in photographic and general interest safaris into Central Africa, Eastern Africa, Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, and more specifically in the 11 “Bucket list” safaris featured in their published book, “ Africa’s Ultimate Safaris “. The Wildeside Safari Company can facilitate the planning and booking of any trip to Africa. Travel in Africa is about knowing when, where and how to travel. Most wildlife activity and behavior is dictated by weather patterns and the seasons of nature, which in turn impacts on feeding and breeding. Being aware of what happens and when, enables one to capitalize on the best possible wildlife viewing to maximize a seven to ten day safari experience.
The company was founded by Ian Thompson and Shirli Carswell who both have years of travel experience in Africa, and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with associations to various partners to facilitate bookings of any of the 11 Bucket list or Ultimate Safaris, or to tailor make safaris on request.
After 20 years of traveling the African continent on filming and guiding expeditions, Ian Thompson and Shirli Carswell of the Wildside Safari Company have compiled a book that captures their favourite safari experiences entitled “Africa’s Ultimate Safaris” to give clients an idea of the best way to experience Africa.
The Company also actively supports Wildlife conservation projects through their "Spread the Word" Campaign.
