Company Profile

Kilimanjaro International Tourism & Safaris is the premier experiential safari company operating primarily in North America and across the globe. We have extensive local ties to Tanzania and its surrounding islands in particular, and to East Africa in general. Each of our excursions is tailored to the interests of our clients while remaining mindful of and loyal to the interests of the local environments and communities in which we operate. Likewise, each of our business and investor partnerships leverage our extensive contacts and relationships within the North American travel market and Tanzanian government agencies.

Our founders are local by birth and upbringing. Our local safari experts have been groomed in African environments and settings, growing up next to safari parks. Our physical offices in Dar es Salaam and Arusha, Tanzania and Washington D.C. in the United States support each other, delivering world-class services to every client who decides to travel with us. Being a local company, almost all the funds a client pays are directly injected into the local Tanzanian economy—local banking, and local spending, which benefits local families through fair wages and operational consumable goods and services.

Kilimanjaro International Tourism & Safaris is related to Kilimanjaro International Corporation Ltd and Petrogas Field Services Ltd—both Dar es Salaam-based companies formed and existing under Tanzanian laws. That’s how we got our start in tourism and safaris. It was a natural offshoot to flying in many international development experts, corporate oil executives, and management consultants, and ensuring that they’d fully enjoy their Tanzanian trip. As many of them brought their families along, we helped them with guided tours and safari planning. Formed 25 years ago, Kilimanjaro International has operated in Africa implementing numerous international development projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development, Millennium Challenge Corporation, African Development Foundation, World Bank, United Nations Development Program, United Kingdom Department for International Development, Swedish International Development Agency, and African Development Bank. Over the past few years, we saw rapid growth in new sectors, outside of but linked to the international development industry. We have since expanded into Tourism, Safaris, Hotels, Resorts, Tented Camps and Hospitality industries.

When you book an African adventure with Kilimanjaro International Tourism & Safaris, you, too, get the full white-glove treatment that our million-dollar executives expected—without the million-dollar price tag. From the minute you touch down in Tanzania to the moment you leave, we take care of everything so all you have to do is fully immerse yourself and enjoy the unforgettable, lifetime memories in the making. When your trip ends, you’ll take Africa home with you as it’ll forever be a part of your very essence. That’s our promise to you.
