Kipruto Safaris is a privately owned, owner-led safari company based in Kenya, specializing in authentic and personalized safari experiences across Kenya and Tanzania.
Founded by Winston Kipruto after more than 15 years of experience in the East African tourism industry, the company was built on a simple but meaningful philosophy: safari should feel personal, genuine, and deeply connected to the people and landscapes of Africa.
Unlike large-volume tour operators, Kipruto Safaris intentionally focuses on quality over quantity, working closely with families, couples, honeymooners, photographers, and small private groups seeking thoughtfully crafted journeys and authentic African experiences.
At the heart of the company is Winston himself, a safari advisor and tour leader who remains personally involved in nearly every guest journey. Having personally met and worked closely with the vast majority of guests hosted by the company, Winston believes that meaningful hospitality begins with relationships, trust, and attention to detail.
The story behind Kipruto Safaris is rooted in generations of Kenyan hospitality. Growing up in rural Kenya, Winston experienced firsthand the joy of welcoming international travelers into his family home during safari stopovers. Those early experiences shaped his lifelong passion for sharing Africa with the world and inspired the warm, relationship-driven approach that defines the company today.
The name “Kipruto,” which traditionally means “traveler” or “one born during a journey,” reflects both Winston’s heritage and the spirit of exploration that guides the company’s vision.
Today, Kipruto Safaris designs tailor-made journeys that combine wildlife, culture, conservation, and comfort, from the iconic plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve and elephant-rich landscapes of Amboseli National Park to the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The company works closely with trusted local guides, camps, lodges, and communities to ensure that every safari not only exceeds guest expectations, but also positively contributes to local livelihoods and responsible tourism across East Africa.
