On The Go Ethiopia Tours is a locally owned tour company founded by Kenaw Ayalew, a passionate Ethiopian tour guide and travel expert with deep roots in the country’s cultural and historical heritage.
Kenaw was born and raised in Lalibela, one of Ethiopia’s most famous tourist destinations, known for its rock-hewn churches and spiritual charm. Growing up, he worked alongside his father in a small gift shop, where he developed a natural love for meeting travelers and sharing stories about Ethiopian history and culture.
Inspired by his interactions with visitors, Kenaw pursued higher education in History at St. Mary’s University in 2008. His curiosity and enthusiasm for travel led him to become a licensed local guide in Lalibela, where he gained firsthand experience in leading cultural and historical tours.
Recognizing the rapid growth of tourism in Ethiopia, he moved to Addis Ababa to further his education in the field, graduating from Lion Ethiopia Tourism and Hospitality College in 2012. Over the years, he guided tours across all corners of Ethiopia—from the ancient wonders of the north to the tribal diversity of the Omo Valley and the natural beauty of the Danakil Depression.
After gaining years of professional experience and a strong reputation among travelers, Kenaw founded On The Go Ethiopia Tours in 2016. The company is built on his vision to provide authentic, responsible, and personalized travel experiences that showcase Ethiopia’s rich culture, history, and landscapes.
Today, On The Go Ethiopia Tours offers a wide range of tailor-made itineraries including cultural, historical, adventure, and nature tours throughout the country. With a commitment to quality service, local expertise, and genuine hospitality, the company continues to inspire travelers to discover the real essence of Ethiopia.
