An awe-inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime trip
5/5

I cannot recommend Maasai Wanderings highly enough. I and my daughter travelled through Tanzania with them (organised by our excellent UK agent, Bushbaby) and everything was superb, from the organisation to the accommodation to what we actually saw (which was nearly everything). We went from Arusha to Tarangire, Ngorogoro, Oldupai Gorge and the Serengeti.

Our guide Chris was absolutely incredible. We really appreciated his kindness and helpfulness, his super knowledge of all the wildlife, his excellent, safe driving and his good humour. We felt very looked after; it was great to be able to hand over responsibility for the logistics so we could really enjoy everything. Chris even put up with our terrible singing without a word of complaint. The trip was a legacy from my mum whom we sadly lost two years ago, and it really was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We loved everything and had a truly wonderful time – even better than we could have imagined. We will remember it forever.

Thank you so much to Maasai Wanderings, and especially to Chris.

Incredible!!!
5/5

I would like to personally thank Maasai Wanderings for the thoroughness to every detail, the happy delightful
> staff at each camp that catered to our every need and to praise the competency and expertise of the skilled guides that helped to make this an incredible trip.
Everything went smoothly from the start to finish.
The camps were magnificent. The food scrumptious! The service and all the staff at each camp were pleasant, helpful and an absolute joy to be around!
I particularly want to complement Charles, the manager at Kaskaz Camp; Kasim at the Naona Moru Camp; Maria at the Plantation Lodge, and Desi (not sure of spelling) at Nimali Tarangire Camp and also the assistant manager Saimon.

Our Kenyan guide Silas, (I apologize for not getting his last name) and our Tanzanian guide, Simon Mayotte were exceptional! Having spent eight days with Simon gave me the chance to witness his proficiency in everything! Not only was he an expert of the animals, birds, plants, trees, climate, the terrain of the land, the handling of the vehicle but my camera as well! Simon was welcoming, warm, funny, interesting, with a great sense of humor and the patience of a saint escorting two older ladies on their first trip to Africa!
This trip was beyond my expectations. As a first time traveler abroad I cannot praise the efficiency of your company enough. Thank you for helping me to have this amazing experience! I will surely recommend
this company to anyone interested.
Asante
Susan

Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

Just returned from safari with my friend Susan. What a
fantastic trip! I cannot thank you enough for your part in this trip.
Let me first tell you Simon Mayotte was such an amazing driver and
guide! He made our safari absolutely perfect. His knowledge about
everything was so informative and enjoyable. We saw and learned so
much about the animals and places we experienced. I am missing him
now.
The camps and lodge were beautiful. The Plantation Lodge was a treat
as was the Nimali Tarangire camp. The Nasakia camps were unbelievably
fantastic. The staff at all of the locations were wonderful. Kasim
at Naono Moru was especially helpful while we were there.
I must tell you that Kaskaz Camp must be your next winner. This new
camp was of course beautiful, but the staff was outstanding. I still
smile every time I think of them. What a great group of young men!
Their songs and dance for us was such fun. They seem to get along so
well together.
Needless to say, if anyone asks me for a reference for a safari, I
will definitely be recommending Maasa Wanderings.
Many thanks to all for a successful trip of a lifetime!

Life Long Dreams Realised

Please pass on our sincere thanks to our Guide and Friend Issa
I had planned this trip to Tanzania well over a year ago as a surprise
40 years of marriage celebration for my wife. A safari to Africa was
something we had always dreamed of since we were children but it was
not until recent years that it became financially achievable. It was
more than we could ever imagined and this was in no small part due to
the knowledge and determination of Issa. We can never thank you enough
for making this such a special trip and hope one day that we may pay
another visit but always there will be part of us in those stunning
national parks.
During the safari Issa became a good friend and whatever the trip
confronted us with we were confident that together we would overcome!
The only problem was that it made the goodbye at the Serengeti
Airfield one of the most difficult partings we have experienced. We
take that as a measure of your kindness and friendship and will always
treasure our time together.

Amazing Safari with Maasai
5/5

We had an amazing five day Safari with Maasai over Xmas. Mohammed our guide was so knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and a superb driver. He really knew his stuff and always seemed to get us to right place at the right time. We covered a distance of 2500 km over the five days but it was fine as we saw literally every animal possible and had such a great adventure. All of the lodges we stayed in were fantastic, great staff and great quality accommodation. I would really recommend this company very highly, and thanks to Mohammed for making our trip so fantastic.

Maasai Wanderings - excellent from start to finish.
5/5

I was with a group of 10 -Team Lammergeier- who recently climbed , Kili and followed up with a short safari.
I honestly believe that the 8 of us who made it to the summit, did so because we were so well looked after by the Maasai Wanderings guides and porters. They were just extraordinary- so hard working, dedicated and most of all, kind. The food was excellent and plentiful. The organisation superb. They have a sixth sense about how each person is feeling and fairing at any given point- and I always felt that my wellbeing was their number 1 priority. I can't thank Holson, Bahati, Gerald, Hezron and Emile and all the mgumu enough... for the experience of a lifetime. 'Mama' will never forget them!
Also, Issa who was our Safari driver and guide was excellent.
No need to look further. I would recommend Maasai Wanderings to anyone travelling to Tanzania.

Wonderful safari!
5/5

We used Masaai Wanderings on a recent trip to East Africa and can't say enough good things about them. They put together a wonderful 7-day itinerary in response to what we were looking for and included parts of the Serengeti, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Lake Manyara. Our guide Chris was very knowledgable about the region and the wildlife which greatly enhanced the trip. The accommodations were all unique and added so much to our experience. The company was very easy to work with and responsive throughout the entire planning process - I highly recommend them for any future trips.

The Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

From the first contact when planning our safari, what we were wanting was the most important thing for Maasai Wanderings. Donna worked out a fantastic 10 day safari for us which included Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and two parts of the Serengeti. From start to finish everything went like clockwork. Chris was an absolute fabulous guide. His friendliness, knowledge, driving and professionalism were top notch and he made our trip. The welcome in the camps we got was fantastic and the staff made us feel at home from our first moment with them so thank you to Pietro, Expedito, Hassan, Muddy and all the others who made us feel so special. The food was terriffic so thank you to those wonderfully trained chefs. On top of all that we also got to tick off another bucket list item with a balloon flight over the Serengeti - just wonderful. And then there were the animals of Africa. Just superb. I don't know how many safari guests get to see 3 cheetahs take down a three quarter grown wildebeest but it is an experience that even the nature shows can't prepare you for.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Maasai Wanderings as a superb company to do a safari with.

Fantastic safari experience
5/5

We booked a 6 day Tanzania safari with Masai Wanderings and would highly recommend them. When researching the trip we investigated many different companies, but Masai Wanderings stood out for their very friendly, honest and knowledgable service. Our guide Kwaru was great and with him we toured Tarangire (staying one night at the lovely Sangaiwe tented lodge) and then Ngorogoro crater (staying at Endoro lodge, a lovely lodge set in beautiful grounds). We then caught a small plane to the Northern Serengeti to stay at Kaskaz Mara, the highlight of our trip. This is a perfect "Out of Africa" setting, with luxury tents (with super comfortable beds and hot showers) overlooking the plains. At night the wildebeest and animal noises ensure you don't forget you are in Africa, and the staff (Charles and his team) are friendly and very attentive. We were not expecting much from the food given the camp's remote location, but the Chef consistently prepared delicious and inventive meals. Our guide John took us on game drives in a fantastic open top vehicle, stocked with cold drinks and beer ! He was flexible enough to work around our requirements, and we were lucky enough to see the wildebeest migration across the Mara river. We wished we could have stayed longer but left promising to return, and won't be forgetting this trip for a long time to come. If you are unsure about whether to book with Masai Wanderings - don't be. Donna and the team will ensure you have the trip of a lifetime.
