Cape Town to Vic Falls (Accommodated)
4/5

My partner and I did the 20 day Cape Town to Vic Falls trip and were very happy with the overall experience. We made enquiries with a number of companies, but Gelle at go2africa was by far the most helpful and responsive. In addition, after we booked she answered a myriad of our random questions with speed and expert advice.

The trip itself was wonderful, our group only consisted of 8 people so we had lots of space in the truck and our tour leader (Shadwell) and cooks (Saima and Norman) were really kind, informative and professional. The range of accommodation was dependent on the varying places we visited, however, it was always very clean and well maintained.

The highlights of the trip for us were Okavango Delta, Chobe national park, Dune 45, Deadvlei, desert walk, night game viewing at Etosha national park and Fish River Canyon.

We would strongly recommend anyone to do this tour, as it is an amazing experience.

Flawless, hassle free, friendly service
5/5

Hello,

We had the most amazing time at Anantara in Bazaruto. Everything was organised and went without a hitch. We felt like royalty, in no small part I am sure, thanks to Mary Keet's "behind the scenes" organising. The service was so good, we could not fault any part of the trip.

There were special surprises everywhere for us and we were spoilt to the point where we were almost considering not going home :-)

I would recommend your excellent service to anyone that wants to travel within Africa. It was a delight working with you.

Amazing safari, absolutely wonderful holiday
5/5

We are just back from our honeymoon in South Africa. We arrived at King Shaka airport, Durban and headed for the Bidvest car rental agency. The process was easy and stress free and we were soon on route to Lalaria Lodge, Salt Rock.
The guest house was amazing, lovely gated accommodation with amazing views from the terrace over the Indian Ocean. The room was lovely with a sliding door out to the pool area. We stayed one night before setting off on the 4 hour drive to Makuze Falls Private Game Reserve.
If we had been wowed the first night then Makuze Falls Game Reserve wowed us even more. A beautiful complex in traditional Zulu style set in the bush just an unfenced step away from the wild animals. The game drives were amazing. With Jonathan our driver and guide, and Elliott our spotter (I was determined to spot something he hadn't - he was amazing!) we set of on a really comfortable and well equipped open Toyota Jeep. We saw a pride of lions on our first drive, no further that 10 m from us, lazing in the sun after a kill. Then it was Buffalo, Zebra, Elephants, Croc's, Warthogs and Giraffe, not to mention the antelope, birds and spiders. On each drive we stopped and had some hospitality- Biltong and drinks in afternoon and Tea, coffee and snacks morning drive at 7am. When we arrived back from the first afternoon drive around 6pm, we found a bottle of Champagne, flowers on the four poster bed, and a hot bath (again with beautiful flowers floating on the bubbles). All in all, the whole safari experience was amazing, the surroundings and staff at Makuze were absolutely brilliant.
After 3 days of game drives, we drove 4 hours to Canelands Beach and Spa Resort, Salt Rock. A very clean, airy but modern building. The ocean view room offered the most amazing views of the beach and ocean literally 50m away. The location was lovely but there were one or two things that let our stay down. The main problem was that our room (room 4) was above the open plan lounge, reception and were the coffee machine was. Every morning at 6.45am we were woken by staff making tea and coffee. I've never noticed how much noise real coffee machines make before. The stairs to our room was also open plan, not closed in, so it sounded as if they were actually making coffee in our room. The other problem was two couples that had young children who allowed them to play football amongst the tables whilst other guests were having breakfast or sitting having a drink. They did nothing even when the ball hit people eating breakfast.
Other than that, Canelands was a lovely spot as close to the ocean you could get. The staff were really good and friendly.
All in all, I would recommend Lalaria Lodge and Makuze Falls Private Game Reserve and say 11 out of 10, Canelands an 7.5 out of 10.
Go2Africa's Rikke Williams was brilliant from start to finish with advice and timely emails, she dealt with my initial doubts about the safety aspect of holidaying in SA.. thank you Rikki for a wonderful itinery.

Olonana is 7Star
5/5

So Anja at Go2Africa was set a brief of getting us the Kenyan experience of a lifetime and she delivered. The way in which it was delivered was over and above our expectations, from the faultless transfers and travel arrangements to the simply superb accommodation.

We stayed at the Olonana Sanctuary in the Masai Mara and it was breath taking. Excellent location on the river where a family of hippo resided. Tented accommodation that a king or queen would have been proud of. Main game lodge that had more style that the Paris fashion week but what really set this place apart was the service of all that worked there.

Being picked up by a friendly informative guide in Niarobi (provided by gamewatchers) and transferred to Wilson Airstrip for our SafariLink flight to the Mara was seamless, which in light of events in Kenya was what we really wanted.

The flight was a tremendous hopper that flew around 8000ft giving awe inspiring views of what lay ahead for our 4 day Easter Weekend.

Upon arriving in the Mara we were met by Benson and one of our Toyota Land Cruisers to be used throughout the Safari. Benson took a great deal of pride and attentiveness from the get go. This is where the 7 star status really took off.

Our short transfer to the lodge was brilliant, Beson informed us of everything thing around us and stopped for the first of 64gb of photos I took in 4 days.

Arriving into the Olonana Sanctuary, we were greeted by Richard, a Masai Elder who played traditional music as he lead us into the camp and to the main game lodge. This place is sublime. Furnished to within an inch of its life to ensure only the highest standards, my hat goes off to the interior decorator, architect, location finder, as these people did good.

Walking through the large open plan dinning and 1 of 2 living spaces you got a real sense of pride of the staff working there. You also got the sense of just how spectacular this was going to be.

Stepping out on to the multi level veranda we were given a welcome drink and introduction to the Olonana and the time we were spending there. The view from the veranda along the river to the hippos and beyond was great. The noise of the running water brought a sense of calm and serenity to the whole proceedings.

We were then allocated a helper per tent, that would take of our ever need, not that I ever needed for anything as the Olonana team had beat me to the thinking.

We were also allocated a guide, Lucas was ours for the next 4 days and boy did this guy know his stuff. Not only that but he knew how to have fun, he knew his guests and fitted in. Every drive he catered for our needs and wants and delivered the big 5 against all odds (as other groups weren't as lucky)

Lucas was the real star as most of our days were with him...his friendly natural way was truly epic customer service.

The food and drink at the Olonana was incredible, Big John (the chef) would make whatever the customers would want but the food on his menu never left need to question. He has such a skill at understanding flavours and combinations that we thought he had been classically trained in Europe only to find out no he was a local lad from Nairobi.

Top tip try the pinotage
Try and get room 2 through 6 (best view of the Hippos in my opinion)
If you get assigned Lucas... Epic!!!
Dollars are preferred as tipping currency or buying currency at the Masai village

Absolutely incredible, especially as a first time visitor to Africa!
5/5

2.5 weeks prior to my visit to Africa, I wasn't sure where I wanted to go, or what I wanted to do. Over a Google search, I came across Africa as a destination, specifically Tanzania. Within an hour, I did a little research on some camps and reached out to Go2Africa in the process. Their response was fast and within 4 days, communicating only via e-mail, I had everything booked in exceptional camps (Nomad Serengeti Safari and Lamai), including all transfer flights, within the budget I was targeting. The process was completely seamless and given a number of unknowns for a first-time visitor to Africa, Lauren from Go2Africa made everything so simple.

A little about the camps I stayed at... My first camp was Nomad's Serengeti Safari which I was staying at for the Migration season. I actually had never camped before either and Nomad's camp was so easy to adjust to. The accommodations were nice, staff was friendly, the other guests were fantastic, and the food was incredible! Most of all, Ian showed me a great time on my game drives, ensuring I was able to make the most of my time there to see all the animals! My second camp was in the north at Lamai Serengeti. As soon as I arrived, I was shocked at just how beautiful the place really was. The pictures online simply don't do it justice. Overlooking the plains, Lamai has probably the best location for miles around with some of the most luxuriously rooms. The management team and staff were really friendly, and it was always a treat to catch up with them after a long day. My guide was Laz who was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. When I landed, I told Laz I really wanted to see a Rhino to complete my big 5 and he was determined to show me one, which he delivered! Overall, a fantastic experience which I highly recommend to anyone!

A safari that surpassed all expectations!
5/5

I want to thank Shelley and the Go2Africa team for a safari experience that surpassed all my expectations. The first thing that impressed me is that Shelly took the time to ask me what kind of experience I was looking for and what I hoped to get out of the trip. Based on the fact that I would be traveling alone and wanted something comfortable but not too over the top, she recommended Chapunga Tent Camp in Thornybush Private Reserve. I really did not know what to expect but she was spot on! Everything about the trip was perfect from the flawless travel arrangements to the accommodations to the safari itself. The staff at Chapunga were as nice as can be; the rooms and grounds were lovely and comfortable, and the food absolutely delicious. I loved the intimacy of 16 max guests (we only had five -- even better!). Best of all was the safari itself. I cannot say enough about Kilmon (our guide) and Oscar (our tracker). Their passion for the animals and Thornybush was clear and they really knew what they were doing. We saw everything we could have wanted and then some. The highlight among so many was tracking leopards and driving straight through the bush in order to find a mom and her son somewhat hidden in the bush. We saw them "munching on lunch" and then followed them as they went to the watering hole for a drink. It was just amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have memories to last a lifetime and can't wait to come back. You can be sure that when I do I'll be calling you to help make my arrangements!

Your Adventure with Expert Guidance
5/5

I usually book my own travel for my wife and I, but I was so overwhelmed with options on this one I turned to Go2Africa, and I am extremely glad I did. The top three reasons why they are awesome: 1) It was my trip. I never felt like I wasn't in control of what I was going to do and they listened to exactly what we wanted to do. 2) They are experts both in the service providers and in Africa. The level of communication ahead of time and during was excellent. All my questions (even the crazy ones) were answered quickly and with an expert response. They worked with us to craft exactly the trip we wanted. 3) They really do want you to have a good experience and are available to make last minute bookings and help out if anything does go wrong. Having that resource really helped keep the vacation mindset going.

Suggestions for those considering booking a trip to Africa. 1) Use a travel agent, preferably a local one like Go 2 Africa. Having somebody to make the phone calls for you, and who knows the specific areas and operators is really beneficial. 2) Do your own research as well. Look into the details of the bookings, verify the locations and inclusions are in line with what you are expecting. Ask questions and be comfortable with your trip far ahead of time. 3) Make the trip your own

Piece of Mind on a trip far from home!
5/5

When we decided we wanted our honeymoon to be in South Africa, I didn't know where to start. Neither my husband nor I had ever been that far outside of the US and the skeptical and shocked faces of our friends and family when we told them about our plans were starting to make us a bit apprehensive! I stumbled upon Go2Africa after countless hours of scouring the web for reputable travel agencies that were willing to work within our budget. Several agencies had actually told us it was not possible to honeymoon in Africa with the modest budget we had provided. Within only a few hours after my initial inquiry to Go2Africa I received a detailed email with suggestions for the most ideal destinations for our price range, activities that would meet our interests, and luxury-on-a-budget lodging for our honeymoon! They also made sure to ask us exactly what we were interested in doing on our honeymoon so that they could tailor the agenda to our personalities. They entire experience start to finish was incredibly customized and during almost a year of planning they were ready to help every step of the way - even offering to assist with restaurant reservations. We really had to put full trust in their agents to book our flights, our hotels, our transfers, and daily activities. They put together the perfect 12 day honeymoon and every single detail went as planned. The best part of their service was the piece of mind that we had someone looking out for us while we were so far away from home. When we arrived in Africa after 19 hours of travel, we found out that our bags had never left the US. We immediately contacted Tanya at Go2Africa and she not only tracked down our bags but she even arranged for them to be transferred to our next destination in Cape Town. We enjoyed 2 days in Zimbabwe (taking an elephant back safari and visiting the beautiful Victoria Falls) and found our luggage waiting for us in our room when we checked in to Welgelegen guest house in Cape Town! Our Go2Africa agent made sure to check in with us every step of the way and made sure to rearrange and rebook our activities when weather wasn't ideal. To top it all off, she made sure everyone knew we were on our honeymoon and had personalized notes and gift baskets at every hotel we checked in to. Booking our trip through Go2Africa was the best decision we could have made. Our trip to South Africa was life changing and we know we'll be back to this beautiful country - when we do we'll absolutely be contacting Go2Africa to make all of our arrangements!

2 weeks in Zambia organised by Ramona
5/5

We decided to book our very first trip to Africa with Go2Africa, because we had read quite a lot of positive reviews, and were not disappointed. Ramona managed to plan a trip according to our budget and needs. We spent one week in Lower Zambezi NP in three different but equally wonderful camps. We saw a lot of wild animals and wonderful sights. People were very friendly and knowledgeable. Most of all, we told Ramona that we wanted to visit Livingston/Victoria falls, but after the hustle and bustle of the place, we wanted to relax in a secluded but luxury hotel. She managed to find a wonderful hotel by the Zambezi River, so we went back home having been able to rest before going back to work. A tremendous experience, probably our best holidays ever. We would definitely recommend Go2Africa.

My wife and I used Go2Africa to help plan a safari/beach trip for our honeymoon.
5/5

Go2Africa and specifically Ms. Liprini were an excellent resource in helping me put together an African component to our honeymoon. Traveling to Botswana for safari and then to Mozambique for a relaxing end to our vacation on the beach was well-organized and allowed us to choose from a variety of different locations/outfitters, etc... As such, we were able to tailor our trip in the direction in which we wanted it to go (camping for safari but relaxing on a remote beach for the back-end of the trip...) Lisa was incredibly helpful for the entire process, from introductions to flying home, and I do think she was instrumental in helping me put everything together. I would recommend her services to anyone thinking about making a trip like ours.
