Amazing experience
We’ve just returned from two wonderful weeks in Uganda with Ananias from Prime Safaris.
Our trip got off to a flying start with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where we came face to face with rhinos on foot.
We then drove on to Murchison Falls National Park, where we admired the waterfall both on foot and by boat. During the boat trip, we were given detailed information about the flora and fauna to be seen in and around the banks of the Nile. The game drives in the park also lived up to our expectations: on the first day, we saw buffalo, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, giraffes and… a leopard! Ananias really did his best to ensure we could see all the animals.
Our next stop was Kibale National Park, where, whilst searching for chimpanzees, we were rewarded with a close encounter with one of the primates. Ananias had briefed us thoroughly on safety during this visit, so we didn’t have to worry at any point.
We then set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we spotted a sleeping lion immediately upon arrival. Later, thanks to Ananias, we also saw the famous tree-climbing lions in Ishasha.
As we naturally wanted to see more primates after the chimpanzees, we decided to go gorilla tracking as well. Ananias had told us beforehand that it could be a long trek and prepared us for that. The hour we spent with the gorillas then flew by and was a real highlight of the trip for us!
The penultimate stop on this trip was at Lake Bunyonyi. There, we had the chance to relax a little more.
Afterwards, we drove on to the final national park on our trip, Lake Mburo. Thanks to Ananias, we were already able to spot a shoebill stork here.
Finally, we headed back to Entebbe, the starting point of our trip. On the morning of our departure, we went in search of the shoebill stork once more and were able to observe this impressive bird up close.
Throughout the entire trip, Ananias made sure we got to sample the delicious local fruit and food. He drove carefully on the challenging roads, so we always felt safe with him in the jeep. His enthusiasm and sense of humour helped make for an unforgettable trip. Thank you, Ananias!

Super safari tour
We had an absolutely amazing safari experience from start to finish. The organization was excellent throughout the entire trip, and everything was planned and executed perfectly.
Our guide, Jerom, was exceptional. He has an incredible amount of knowledge about safaris, wildlife, and nature, and he was always happy to share interesting information with us. Beyond his expertise, he was very kind, open-minded, and easy-going, which made every day enjoyable and relaxed. His passion for nature and wildlife truly enhanced our experience.
The accommodations exceeded our expectations. Every lodge was of outstanding quality, offering comfort, great service, and beautiful surroundings. The food was delicious everywhere we stayed.
Most importantly, we felt completely safe during the entire journey. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to fully enjoy the adventure without any worries.
We highly recommend this safari company and especially Jerom to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us!

Very attentive and extremely helpful and knowledgeable .
Cate at Prime Safaris was incredibly helpful in booking this trip ( one month beforehand). I did a 10 day private Ugandan safari tour with a couple of friends. Joseph our private guide and driver was very friendly and knowledgeable as well as being a very safe driver. The trip was truly amazing and unforgettable. I did another safari 10 years before with a different operator to Kenya and it cost a lot more money . I am all ready beginning to plan another safari tour in about a year from now to Tanzania and Kenya, Cate at Prime Safaris will be the 1st person I contact to make this happen .

Outstanding.. organized, professional, interesting and accommodating
Our group of 6 traveled to Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda in Nov-Dec. 2025. From the start, 9 months before we arrived in Africa, Cate was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly responsive to our questions/queries responding promptly and patiently and offering suggestions that enhanced our trip. Her organizational skills and knowledge of various sites and activities were truly amazing and she was readily available to us throughout the trip and was able to provide excellent guidance when we faced an immigration mixup. The 3 drivers/guides we had, Alex, Ernest & Ananais, were incredible. Each shared their love of their countries through knowledge, interesting places to stop, food, and music, and all went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves and got the most out of the experience. I highly recommend using this company. You won't be disappointed.

Prime Safaris delivered a warm, seamless, and unforgettable adventure.
Our group of six travelled through Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda with Prime Safaris in Nov/Dec 2025, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. Coordinating a multi‑country trip can be complex, but Cate’s exceptional support—both before and during the journey—made everything run smoothly. Her help was especially invaluable when we encountered unexpected issues with our visitor visas.
Our drivers—Alex, Ernest, and Ananias—were outstanding. They combined professionalism with deep knowledge and pride in their countries, always going the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and engaged. We appreciated the personal touches they each brought to the trip: sharing local food and music, finding the perfect vantage points for wildlife viewing, planning a surprise sundowner, and even singing Christmas carols together. These moments made the experience truly special.
Prime Safaris delivered a warm, seamless, and unforgettable adventure. We highly recommend them.

amazing experience
We booked a 14-day trip to Uganda with Prime Safari, a company recommended to us by friends, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience! Planning the trip with Cate was easy and stress-free — she was always available, attentive, and made sure all our wishes were taken into account.
Our local guide, Jerome, was fantastic. He was extremely helpful, polite, knowledgeable, and truly the best driver we could have asked for. We felt completely safe and well taken care of throughout the entire journey.
All the accommodations were excellent. We would absolutely travel with Prime Safari again anytime!

Very responsive and supportive.
Great experience. Cate from Prime Safaris was very helpful, informative, and responsive. The tour itself was great: the driver (Jerome) was very punctual and friendly and drove safely. We did the chimpanzee trekking at Kibale Park. Everything worked well: our accommodation at the crater lake (nice lodge), the trekking itself, and our return. I guess we were also lucky because it was rainy season, but it didn't rain the day we spent at Kibale and we could see the chimps (many of them) up in the trees nearby and the on the ground very close to us (three meters).

Exceeded all expectations
I went on a 5 day gorilla safari as a solo female traveller. Prime Safaris was professional, friendly, and organized every step of the way. I have nothing but positive things to say about the guides, lodge, and day tours.

Hands down, the best safari company and tour guides around
My family contracted Prime Safaris for our dream safari to Uganda. From the moment we began speaking with Cate at Prime Uganda, it was clear we were in good hands. Cate worked with us to craft an itinerary that provided daily one-in-lifetime experiences: gorilla tracking, walking safari, channel cruise and more. I don’t think I’ve ever seen *so many animals* in such short time. From the minute we entered Queen Elizabeth National Park, we spotted a leopard, warthogs, elephants, mongooses, hippos and water buffalo. Literally, within 15 minutes of each other!
Joseph, our guide, was an absolute masterclass in hospitality. He worked with every ranger, lodge concierge and porter to make sure we, our food, our rooms and our luggage were given the utmost care. He even spoke with the gorilla trackers to assign us to the closest confirmed gorilla family, as my mom was in poor health and otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to track them with us.
In fact, we had to push our trip a full year due to a health scare; Cate was unbelievably kind and respectful of our situation. She worked with the lodges and the government to get all of our deposits applied to the following year, with no money lost despite the cancelled plans. She and Joseph made this trip the best adventure we’ve ever taken.
If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and book with Prime Uganda!

The Best
My sister and I were guided by Joseph Nyanzi through Uganda to see the chimps and the gorillas. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. My sister had traveled with them in 2018 so it was automatic to use Prime Safaris again. The experience that Cate Makanga planned for us was exactly as we had requested and a great value. The accommodations were the very best; location, comfort, service, security, food.
The experience with the chimps and gorillas was awesome. I never imagined we would be so close to the animals and that we would see so many. I had dreamed of this trip for so long and it did not disappoint.
If you plan a trip with Prime Safaris, request Joseph Nyanzi as your guide. Joseph is very experienced. He seems to know everyone in Uganda and is eager to share his knowledge and patiently answered our endless questions. Everyone we met was warm, friendly and proud of their country and of the nature that they protect.
