Was great, life into the wild. The atmosphere was one to experience although the journey was long it was worth doing it. Meeting different people and different cultures all together . Can't wait to do it again!

What an Excellent Safari experience;Kudos Wildrace Africa and The Team
I can't compare the service offered by Wildrace Africa Safaris with any other company since we are not first timers in Africa and Kenya to be specific. We volunteer in Kenya every year and at the end of it we have to take a break and adventure tour Kenya before flying back home. But this other time round this company just crack it all. What else would one want in a safari/travel agent if not reliability, quality services and satisfaction? We felt overall that it was not close to perfect but more than perfect and the team,staffs and guides are just but excellent infact.... Wildrace Africa from the word go are the overland safari Magicians in we've ever met in east Africa.
My friends and fellow collegues chose to travel with wildrace Africa because, when I contacted several potentials including the ones we had once trusted to offer us their best. Simon was the only person who answered the questions I asked and was very first in his responses, he could reply our mails like he was just waiting for it to land on his mail box,he was very help full and flexible throughout the booking process, offered plenty of advice since we were a big group of 26 persons. He met us just before the safari and fully explained everything, was readily available during the trip if we had any questions or concerns (not that we did).
The guide George took us across Kenya from Samburu , lake nakuru, naivasha,Masaai mara, amboseli to Tsavo West. Believe me when I say this company is accompany of qualified professionals, he was an exceptionally good in all, safe driver which is incredibly important on some of those very dangerous highways, not to mention dirt tracks through the safari parks. Very knowledgeable, fluent in English and to top it all he speaks like seven languages which is just incredible. We saw a lot of animals among other awesome activities..., would highly recommend wildrace Africa for anyone who would really want to feel the true taste of being in an African safari and sure we will definitely be using them for our next trip for migration 2014.

Magical Kenya Safari
I had the pleasure of using WildRace Africa Safaris for Kenya and Tanzania trip for my guests that arrived 4th to 10th November 2014 and they had great adventure. They provided a real Africa experience, with professional staff like Simon and great tourist understanding. I would like to Thank Simon and his team for giving us the most amazing African holiday! They took care of our every need and we felt safe with them the entire time. Our guide Gordon was a wealth of knowledge, there was not a question I asked that he didn't know the answer to or wasn't able to find me the answer. He ensured all our accommodations where adequate and to our liking. (Traveller's remember the accommodations in Africa are not the same as your used to, ask lots of questions and never assume anything as this may lead you to have unrealistic expectations, in our eyes this is what made things more authentic) The Massai Mara was full of adventures and fully lived up to our expectations, Gordon spotted us the Big Five all in one day and much much more! We also had the luxury of having a ride along guide intern with us for the first half of our trip and Jeffith always ensured I captured every moment by offering to take our picture and videos in all locations/ events of the days. We visited a Masai village and learned of the traditional ways of their people, it was a very eye opening experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience more of Africa. In Amboseli National park we where given the honour of having our meals prepared by a private chef Alan and every meal he impressed and ensured we where fully satisfied :) When we crossed the boarder into Tanzania the transfer was smooth and both guides ensured we where comfortable. Ozy our guide for Tanzania could spot any camouflaged animal from miles away and took the time to sit at certain spots ensuring we saw different animal interactions that we didn't anticipate such as the lion mating routine. (Always account for travel time and traffic, all these parks are amazing but they do require a bit of travel time to get there.) I cant say enough about the personal touches that going with Wildrace offered us, Simon took the time out of his busy schedule to pick us up at the boarder and accompany us for the final day, driving back to Nairobi from the Tanzania boarder and even some shopping and our final dinner at the Famous Carnivore restaurant. One of my crazy requests was to ride a camel and on the last day my dream came true as we went to a Masai camp out of the original plan and I was able to ride a Camel!! Wildrace far exceeded my expectations and as first time visitors to Africa made me feel more then at home, my advice for any traveler going to Africa would be to plan your itinerary with a local company to ensure you get the real African experience ( Not being put in a large bus with 20 other people like we seen of many large companies) be flexible and just enjoy the moments. Thank you again Simon and your great team, I can't wait to plan our next adventure visiting the Gorillas of Uganda with you and feel truly grateful to have met each and everyone of you!

Awesome itinerary and service!
We used Simon's tour company when my wife's family came from the US to visit us in Kenya, their first trip to Africa! We really needed a memorable trip, as this was a once-in-a-lifetime visit for them, and Simon really delivered. They got us to everywhere we needed to go on time, and sent us two vans to accomodate us all comfortably - even though we didn't request this - and didn't charge us extra. The drivers/guides Gordon and Simon were really fabulous, very knowledgeable during the game drives and helpful during the car rides. They also put us up in a great lodge - Sopa Lodge. Simon will give you both a great price and a great experience.

A very professional yet caring service provider
I must confess that it was very pleasant dealing with Simon from the onset. Simon ensured that he was constantly in touch with us during all stages from initiation/ planning to the culmination of the trip. All concerns/ suggestions were promptly taken care. Accommodation at Amboseli and Masai Mara were excellent; Nakuru accommodation was satisfactory.
However, there remained few concerns which surfaced because of Naivasha accommodation and also a 2 hours waiting period before start of Masai Mara trip as plan to induct another group was not properly planned. After raising these issues to Simon, he apologized immediately and took sincere care that any more problem is not encountered and remaining trip remains spot-less. Based on the feedback, he ensured that Naivasha accommodation was not repeated for any more tourist.
In all, I can say that he was a very professional and caring host and I will surely recommend him to all my friends.

Great safari adventure in Tanzania
The safari brought us to the unequaled beauty of wildlife in four parks in Tanzania. The guide was very knowledgeable l and fun to be with. We encountered a few mechanical problems with the jeep, but the guide was able to resolve them without overly impacting our excursions. The lodges were very nice and comfortable. We loved the trip.
The one thing that was unexpected was that the manager of the safari office wanted US$ cash payment for the balance due before we began the safari, but we had been told that credit card payment was acceptable. As we had limited cash, we were able to agree on both a cash and credit payment, but this was inconvenient and not right.

Amazing experience for 5 day safari Amboselli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara
We booked a private mid-range 5-day trip to Amboselli, Lake Nakuru, boat trip on Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara.
Booking experience: The booking experience was easy, and Simon Milambo was very helpful in organizing everything and accommodating to our dates changing, picking us up a little later than usual, and provided multiple payment options. Note, there is a 5% fee if you want to pay by credit card.

Guide: Our guide Obama was amazing! He was both our guide and driver, so there was no separate driver or tracker in the package.
Despite having to work extra hard doing both jobs. He really went out of his way to make sure we saw as much as we could on our 5 day trip. He woke up early every day to start our game drive before anyone else so we could catch the animals in the early mornings around 6:30am when they are more active. He was prompt, very friendly and always made sure that we were happy and comfortable during our entire trip. He is a very knowledgeable guide and was eager to answer any questions we had. Amazingly we managed to see the big 5 (all of them very close up) as well as the wildebeast migration and the crossing of the river!

Car: Since we booked a "mid-range" tour, our car was a 2-wheel-drive minivan with a pop-up roof and we opted out of the 4x4 which was an additional $250 pp. Although our minivan was noisy and we almost got stuck in the ditches a few times and had to detour, Obama did his best to maneuver the vehicle around the ditches but without his good driving skills we would have not been so lucky. We would 200% recommend booking the 4x4! We wished we were given more information about the cons of the van and pros of booking a 4x4.

Camps:
We stayed at 3 camps during our trip:
Kibo Safari Camp.
- By far the best one. We were very happily surprised with the accommodation here, everything was great. It is a "tented" camp but it basically felt like a very nice hotel. This camp also had a show of the Maara people dancing.
Lake Nakuru Lodge.
- This is a more "hotel-style" lodge. Despite being proper hotel rooms, It didn't feel as luxurious as the Kibo Safari Camp. However the food here was incredible, and we were able to hear the lions roar in the early morning. This is about the comfort we expected from a mid-range tour. This camp had a fire acrobatics show in the evening, although we didn't attend it being so tired from the Safari drives.
Enkorok Mara camp.
- This was the only camp we stayed at for 2 nights and by far the worst of the bunch. It was also a tented camp, but we were disappointed as everything about it felt budget and not at all "mid-range". The food was decent but the shower was very very dirty and there was nothing particularly noteworthy or interesting about the camp. I will say the Maasai people who work there were very friendly.

Driving: In total, we ended up doing more driving between the parks than actually being in the park. We spent most of every day driving between the parks, about 5-7 hours between each destination, on very rough roads. This was quite tiring so if you have the luxury of being able to choose more days we would recommend at least 2 nights at each park. However we only had a few days for the trip and we were happy we got to see Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara.
You definitely need at least 2 nights in Maasai Mara or it will not be worth it. You need to drive for many hours into the park to see the exciting wildlife like lions, leopards, cheetahs, etc which requires a full day game drive.

The Maasai Village. On the last day of our trip, we were taken to a Maasai village. We were told the entrance fee was 3,000 KSH. Again being new to Kenya we didn't know that was a price per person and not per group, so for just the 2 of us, the entrance fee was 6,000 KSH ($60 USD). They did a traditional dance for us, showed us the inside of one of their huts but the rest of the time was spent trying to sell us cheap souvenirs at steep prices at the marketplace area built specifically for tourists. We ended up buying a necklace and a wooden bowl for them which they wanted 5,500 KSH for around $55. We negotiated it down a bit.

The itinerary. The itinerary laid out sounded very exciting but it was just impossible to do it all in the time we had. Our guide was honest with us and helped us choose the best things to do and we were very happy with the experience we got! :)
