Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

Wild Secret Safari is truly deserving of the 5 star recommendation. Me and my friend engaged them recently for our safari great migration trip in Tanzania. It was worth of our every dollar. We took the camping style accommodation. Musa (director) and Rashid (secretary) was so detailed in planning the itinerary that there was no hiccups. This agency also catered halal meals for Muslim travellers too.

Our guide, Elia Edward was truly a brilliant guide. He has a great understanding of animals behavior. He was able to anticipate that the lion will looked back over his right shoulder and told my friend to standby for her camera as it's gonna be a nice shot. In wildlife photography, every second counts.

Rama, our cook who tagged along with us throughout the whole trip was amazing too. He prepared for us delicious food everyday and I'm not exaggerating lol. I'm still amazed on how he can cooked so well in the wilderness. On our last night, Rama went an extra mile to cook dinner base on our request. Rama and Elia helped us in setting up our tentage too. They took good care of us throughout the journey.

Thank you Wild Secret Safari and the whole team for making our safari trip a memorable one.

Wonderful Adventures in Africa
5/5

My 2 brothers and I have just returned home from our 7 days safari adventure with Wild Secrets Safaris and it has exceeded all our expectations. Everything went perfectly from our communication with Rashid, timely transfers, the actual trip, our experienced guide, wonderful accommodations, comfortable and spacious vehicle..... even the weather was great.
Our itinerary took us to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Nathan as our driver and guide. The number of animals that we saw on tour was insane. Nathan knew the parks like the back of his hand and every where we turned there was something wonderful to see. By the end of our safari we had seen hundreds of elephants, more than 5 prides of lions including some that were mating in the Serengeti, lots antelopes, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, numerous birds and beautiful African landscape. Our balloon ride over the Serengeti was a great experience too watching the animals from above.
We are very grateful to Rashid and your team at Wild Secrets Safaris for the wonderful adventure in Africa.

8 Day Tanzania Safari and 4 day Zanzibar Beach Holiday
5/5

The following is a very thorough review of our 5* safari holiday, majestically delivered by the Wild Secret Safari team! Without a shadow of a doubt, the best family holiday I have had.

The Safari

We were a family of 5, including 2 Children. Rashid organised everything for us from the hotels/camps/lodges to airport transfers. As soon as we arrived in Tanzania we were met with our tour guide Nathan at the airport. We stayed in Arusha for one night, then our Safari begun to Tarangire national park to get a flavour of whats to come before moving onto the beautiful landscapes of Serengeti. We visited Central and Northern parts of Serengeti and witnessed the amazing Wildebeest Migration, including the river crossing on 2 separate occasions! Nathan was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He took us on game drive routes not many other tour guides were familiar with, due to his vast experience. He could spot animals from quite a distance and we were able to see Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Baboons, Wildebeest, Buffalos, Hippos, Crocs and Hyena, including exotic birds and much more! He also made us the best hot chocolates!
We had some awesome encounters with Lions and Elephants, something we will never forget! The roads are quite bumpy and dusty in Serengeti just be aware. Nathan was an excellent driver though, he tried to make the journey as pleasant as possible. We met him every morning with a spotless car and good banter!
Moving on to Ngorongoro crater was a very memorable experience, the number of animals we came across in a short amount of time was amazing. We even had a nice picnic lunch and took some incredible pictures! Lake Manyara we visited on our way back to Arusha, which was a nice national park but with less action compared to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Halal Food

With our safari package our food was catered for, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. After breakfast at the camps/lodges we were out for morning game drives.
Our lunches were prepared for us every day by the camps/lodges in our picnic boxes which we would eat outside in designated picnic areas located in the National Parks, or in our Jeep. Lunch boxes were made to order by telling the staff in the lodges our chosen options for the day.
Dinner- we were always back at the lodges/camps in time for dinner which was usually served around 7/7.30pm.
All the food was Halal in the camps/lodges we stayed in, which was amazing. Stress free! The owner of the Ole Serai camps is a Muslim himself so we were at ease.

Accomadation

All our camps and lodges were luxurious with beautiful views of sunsets/sunrises. We enjoyed every moment in them, including the gourmet Halal food. They exceeded our expectations! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We would definitely choose Ole Serai again in our next visit!

Massai Village

During our stay we had a chance to visit a Massai Village, for an extra cost, not included in our package. It is a $50 entry free to visit them, charged per family. You are able to see them dance and take as many pics/videos of them. They will show you around, where they live and show you inside their huts. The chief will tell you about their culture, lifestyle, religion etc. You can even join in on their dancing if you would like and then at the end they will show you their hand crafted items for sale. This felt a bit unpleasant as we felt we were pressured to buy something to support them, even though we had already paid them an entry fee. Also, their prices are crazy, so haggling was required. At the end we were told to leave because another family were here-which left us a little disappointed. Overall we didn’t feel like it was worth it as it wasn't really an authentic encounter, better off visiting a real massai village.

Shopping

There are a small shops on the sides of the road while driving out of Arusha or into Manyara. You can ask the driver to stop by to do some souvenir shopping. Just to warn you, you will need to do a lot of negotiating and haggling at these places since they will start off with the crazy prices which will leave you feeling very frustrated. E.g. $10 for 1 keyring.

Tanzanite (this part was written by the Mrs!)

If you want to buy some tanzanite please ask your guide to take you to a genuine place, like the Safari Galleria, or some places have tanzanite counters inside hotels. There is discounts and haggling involved in buying tanzanite as well, if you want the best quality choose AAA+. They are pricey but they are beautiful gems!

Zanzibar

We stayed at a beautiful resort for 3 nights – all inclusive food. The beaches in Zanzibar are incredible with white sands. This a really nice place to come and relax after your hectic safari trip.

Overall our Safari was amazing, Africa is a beautiful country. We would 100% come back again through Wild Secret Safaris.

A near perfect experience!
5/5

I stumbled across this tour provider through a google search and was intrigued by their halal safari offering, as we were a family of four travelling with 2 kids. From the outset, the tour administrator (Rashid) was very professional and answered all our queries. Certain accommodation that we requested was sold out but Rashid made suitable alternate arrangements.

When we arrived in Kilimanjaro, Mussa our Tour guide and driver, was there to greet us as arranged, early in the morning at 5am. From there on, it was a near perfect experience. Mussa made sure all our requirements were taken care of, from personally handling all our luggage, making sure all our accommodation was ready for us, dropping us off at the end of each day and being there ready and waiting for us in the morning.

The safari experience was excellent and we covered three main attractions over three days - Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. We saw quite a few animals at Tarangire including lions, zebras and elephant but Lake Manyara was a bit disappointing since barely any animals were out that day - I think the trick is to be there at around 630 am or just after sunrise so find a lodge as close to each reserve (or within the reserve) to minimise travel time.

Saying that, the accommodation that was arranged for us was excellent. Osupuko Lodge being a sublime and beautiful lodge with warm and welcoming staff in the middle of the wilderness. We were escorted to and from our rooms by the Masai after dark which was an experience in itself. Our room's patio was overlooking the wilderness where we could see animals crossing while having breakfast outside.

The other two lodges (Farm of Dreams and the Airport Planet Lodge) were excellent as well. The quality of food was good throughout where we got to sample local cuisine (halal beef and chicken).

We seemed to be the only group on the safari that had hot packed lunches. Mussa laid out a neat and beautiful picnic table each day, with cutlery, at the designated picnic spots in the park. We had chicken curry, fresh cut fruits, steamed veggies, rice, noodles, pasta, fries, beef curry over the duration of our three-day safari whilst the other tour groups seemed to have simple cold sandwich boxes!

Mussa's driving was smooth and the jeep itself was good enough, being a customised old school Landcruiser fitted with an opening top and padded around so you could stand up and stick your head out of the room and get fresh air in your face during the rides in the parks. Especially awesome on the climb to Ngorongoro and of course the drives in the park. There was a power socket extension the vehicle as well where we could charge our mobile phones and cameras (don’t forget to bring your 3 pin multiplug). Mussa gave us interesting informational tidbits about each animal that we saw in the parks, which added to the depth of our experience. He was flexible in us stopping on the way to and from the parks, for coffee breaks in local coffee spots or pharmacies etc.; however, it's recommended that you try and get to the parks as early as possible.

We highly recommend this company and plan on using Wild Secret Safaris and hopefully the same team on our next trip (for the Serengity) - if you have the budget and can book early, aim for accommodation within the reserves themselves or as close as possible so that you can minimise travel time and aim to be there after sunrise.

6 Days Northern Tanzania family Safari
5/5

Our family of 4 went on the 6 day Northern Tanzania Safari with Wild Secret Safaris to Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti.
Our guide and driver was Mussa. was very experienced and had vast knowledge on all the animals we saw. He was also very good at spotting the animals and had the sense to know where they would be. We saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, vultures, buffaloes, and 2 leopards in 2 different spots, however the highlight was the wildebeest migration. By the end of the 6 days, Mussa had become like part of our family.
I highly recommend Wild Secret Safaris.

Amazing SafariAdventure in Tanzania
5/5

I went with my family on a 7 day safari to Tanzania with Wild Secret Safaris. Out trip took us to Serengeti, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater. I visited their website and I had an easy time navigating. I was directed to contact Rashid and he was easy to work with. This was the first time that we were going on safari and I didn’t know a single thing about safaris. Rashid gave me extensive information on Tanzania and its sites and helped me select the parks we would go to and created an itinerary for us. He also answered all my questions with a lot of patience.
Mussa, our guide and driver picked us up at the airport the moment we landed in KIA. He was very friendly and amazing with the kids. He welcomed us happily and gave us cold drinks and snacks that were in the car. He told us a little about himself and I was impressed at his excellent English, personable demeanor, and experience. He told us what to expect and my kids were so excited to see the animals that they couldn’t sleep. During the actual safari Mussa showed us every animal there was to see. He could spot the smallest animal from a long distance. I was awed by his skill. He showed us 2 leopards, cheetahs, lions, a lioness hunting, elephants at a watering hole, ostriches, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, buffaloes, and many more animals. He also told us a lot about the animals we saw.
The lodges we stayed were luxurious with tents that were very nice and comfortable to sleep in. They had everything we needed. The meals we had were delicious. They even provided gluten free options for us and I was amazed.
Our first safari was amazing, thanks to Mussa and the Wild Secret Safaris team

Wonderful tour to Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti with Wild Secrets
5/5

My friends and I went for a 7 day safari to Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti in Tanzania with Wild Secrets Safaris which has turned out to be the most exciting adventure of my life.
Our travel contact Rashid was the best. He worked with us and came up with itinerary according to our wishes. The guide can make or break your safari; we count ourselves lucky that we had Nathan as our guide. He was just amazing!!! He was professional, dependable, great conservationist and a skilled driver. He drove very safely, following all the rules, and never exceeding the speed limits. He had a knack for spotting animals that we couldn’t see. He was very excited to point out the animals for us. With him, we saw rhinos, leopards, lions, and many more animals. He also showed us the 3 wildebeest crossings in just 2 days.
Our experience was heightened by the wonderful lodges that Rashid suggested and booked for us. They were wonderful pit stops after a day of game drives.
My friends and I are definitely going back to Tanzania with Wild Secrets Safaris and would want Nathan to be our guide again.

Just Like Our Second Honeymoon
5/5

Wild Secrets Safaris provides top notch services for trips. Their amazing reviews on TripAdvisor pulled us in and then we were hooked by the prompt and professional responses to our queries by Rashid. After I chose the kind of safari package that we we wanted for our 5th Anniversary, Rashid jumped right into action and took care of all the details. Rashid’s attention to details awed me. When we arrived in Tanzania, there was an amazing suite waiting for us. There was romantic lighting, flower petals on the bed, roses in a vase on the bedside table, a flute of non-alcoholic champagne on ice, and chocolates. We were so happy with the little details which made our anniversary memorable. It felt like we were back on our honeymoon. We were very excited to do the next activity that Rashid planned for us.
On the morning of our safari, Mussa, our guide, was there at the hotel doors ten minutes ahead of time waiting for us. He was so friendly with us that we immediately felt at ease with him. He was an excellent guide who spoke fluent English. Mussa loves nature and it just showed from the way he was talking about the animals and the birds we saw. He was very informative and educative. He also had a very keen eye, spotting animals that we couldn’t see with the first glance. He spotted a lioness that was hunting for prey. We saw so many different animals during our 6 day safari and had such a wonderful time in the accommodations that Rashid had booked for us. On each day of our trip, Mussa picked us up in a clean sparkling car.
Wild Secrets Safaris provides only the best for their clients. We couldn’t be happier with the wonderful experience that Rashid and Mussa of Wild Secrets Safaris provided for us. I recommend Wild Secrets Safaris as you will not regret it.

Wonderful 7 days safari with my family
5/5

My daughter in her teens, mother in her 70s and I in my 40s had an incredible time with this company during our 7 days safari with Wild Secrets Safaris. Everything was great from the smooth and flexible booking process that took into consideration all the place that we wanted to visit which Rashid organized into a nice sequential itinerary.
I cannot equate our experience in the parks to anything with Mussa as our guide. He managed the whole trip extremely well giving, with his amazing guiding skills and of tracking animals and the importance of being patient and quiet so as to soak in the whole experience and not spook the animals.
He was wonderful company too with numerous narrations about everything Tanzania. Another nice thing that I liked was getting hot meals for lunch unlike the other companies I saw where they ate out of boxes.
Our accommodation was splendid to say the least and served halal dishes!!!
I loved the whole experience and would recommend Wild Secrets Safaris to anyone intending to travel with young children because they hav the most wonderful guides and comfortable vehicles!

Excellent Safari operator full stop. Even better that they specialize in Halal Safaris
5/5

We had a trip of a lifetime experience with Wild Secret Safaris.

We spent five full days in both the Tarangire and Serengeti national parks as well as the Ngorongoro Conservation area getting up close to countless numbers of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes as well as two leopards and one elusive rhinoceros that we were able to find in the end. Our nine-year-old daughter was thrilled to see all the "big five."

A lot of the credit goes to our excellent guide Mr. Nathan who ensured that all our needs were met and never made us feel rushed. We also appreciated his deep knowledge of flora and fauna as well as his evident respect for the environment and the welfare of the Maasai tribes and all the creatures that lived in the National parks.

All itinerary arrangements were exceptionally coordinated by Mr. Musa and Mr. Rashid who met us in Arusha at the beginning of our trip and sent us off to our lodge near the Kilimanjaro airport at the end.

We stayed in more "luxury" style accommodations that were fantastic and fully met our requirements for Halal meals throughout. Even so, Wild Secret provided us with better prices and value for money than other Safari operators who were providing lower range accommodations in their quotes.

We are happy to recommend Wild Secret Safaris to everyone, but especially to those who are looking for Halal options.
