Responsive and helpful with every aspect of the trip not just the climb
We did the 7 day Lemosho route that was offered by Kili Vikings. This proved to be one of the hardest, yet one of the most rewarding things I’ve done thus far. Charlie from Kili Vikings was a great operator, who took care off every aspect of our trip, not just the climb. He was responsive and supportive, and answered all the questions we had. The climb was super well organised, our guides John, Conrad and Prosba were amazing - they took care of us for the whole week and were always careful so that our well-being is safeguarded, they made the climb that much more enjoyable. Apart from the climb, Kili Vikings also arranged us a safari tour, that was very well planned out and executed. Overall working with Charlie and Kili Vikings was a really enjoyable experience.

Tough hike, amazing experience!
My husband and I climbed Kilimanjaro for our honeymoon in January 2026 with KiliVikings! We chose the 7-day Rongai route. Overall we had a great experience. We booked a group tour, but it ended up being just the two of us and the crew! From the beginning, Charlie was very responsive (even though we arrived on Christmas Day and finished on New Year’s Eve). Our guides, Goodluck and Stephan, were awesome and helpful! They respected the mountain and checked in with us throughout the day during the hiking portion and while relaxing at camp to make sure our questions were answered! The porters, chef, guides, and the entire staff were incredible! We made it to Gilman’s point, which is not the peak but was close enough!
We went at the end of rainy season so it rained/snowed every day of our hike. The mornings were usually clear and it was amazing to see the mountain as we progressed! Charlie arranged a taxi for us to get to Arusha after the hike and helped with everything we asked!
A couple of things that could have gone better/I wish we had done differently:
-Kilivikings forgot to pack oxygen, which was said to be included in the tour. I got altitude sickness during the summit night and I probably needed it but we didn’t have any.
- I wish we had looked at the route success rates before choosing a route. We picked the Rongai route and it was beautiful!!! the forest was incredible! But i think a longer climb (like lemosho) would have been better for us to acclimate.
-We did not end up taking the acclimatization day and I wish we had. Our climb ended up being 6 days instead of 7 because the guide said we likely didn’t need the extra day. We were feeling mostly good until the summit night so not our guide’s fault!
- KiliVikings recommends a 10% tip, but we got the vibe from our porters and guides that that was not at all fair. We ended up paying about a 25% tip (which was extremely deserved but a little more than we anticipated spending).
- Nothing KiliVikings could have done about this but we found it extremely difficult to eat. (The food was delicious we simply couldn’t eat because of the altitude). We live at sea level and have never been so high up so we truly didn’t understand how the altitude could impact us and the biggest hurdle was our appetite. We slept fine and for the most part we acclimated until we started the climb to the summit.
Again, overall, it was challenging, incredible, and a truly unique experience! Thank you KiliVikings!

Unforgettable experience
We had an amazing time, the whole crew was very helpful and attentive. Both Goodluck and Charles were excellent guides and clearly had a lot of experience in Kilimanjaro. Charles was very knowledgeable about the nature in the area and shared a lot of insights along the way. We were very comfortable in the tent, it was huge, and the food during the whole trip was amazing, we didn’t know we could eat so well up in the mountains. Goodluck did a great job assembling the team.
Overall, we had an unforgettable time and everything went perfectly.

6-Day Machame climb and 1-Day Safari
We joined a 6-day Machame Route climb with two people, plus a one-day safari tour in Arusha National Park as an optional tour. Richard, who organized the tour, was very kind and always took the time to answer our many questions. The package also included airport–hotel transfers, and rental equipment was conveniently delivered to our hotel.
For the climb, we were supported by a team of 11: two guides, one chef, one waiter, and seven porters. Our mountain guides, Goodluck and Gift, set a pace that matched our fitness level, which made the trek very comfortable. The tent was cozy, and the meals were delicious. Compared to large group tours, the smaller group allowed for more flexibility, and our team was able to secure great camping spots. With the fitness level of people in their 30s, summiting Uhuru Peak in six days was very achievable. One tip: prepare your tips in advance for the final day, as there are recommended guidelines for tipping ammount.
After the climb, we spent a day on safari in Arusha National Park. It was only a two-hour drive from Moshi, and we saw a wide variety of animals. For anyone who wants to experience the nature of Tanzania in a small group setting, we highly recommend Kilimanjaro Vikings.

5-Day Safari in Tanzania with Kili Vikinhs
My family and I took a 5-day safari trip with Kili Vikings https://www.safaribookings.com/day/t3520. It was a memorable experience.
Charlie R., the owner of Kili Vikings was fantastic. He arranged for every detail, explained everything through emails and answered all our questions ahead of time. He delivered everything he had promised. We had a great time, saw lots of animals and enjoyed every lodge/campsite, each having its own character. For the last day, we asked Charlie if he could change plans and arrange for something different as we had already seen so many animals in 4 days. He arranged another tour for us at one day's notice. We really appreciated the flexibility.
The breakfast and dinners at the campsites were great, but the picnic lunch boxes were repetitive and boring with overcooked dry food, with so many items that we could not possibly eat and were happy if we could find any takers.
But hey, you got to have some nuances along the way to call it an adventure.
Trustworthy
We did the 8 days Lemosho Route with Kili Vikings and it was a great experience, the guides were experienced and spoke great English which made the whole experience unforgettable! And the chef cooked amazing food! Would definitely recommend the agency
Amazing
Had a great time hiking Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Vikings. The group of guides and porters were amazing! Highly recommend.

Successful Lemosho Tour
Thanks to Charlie and his team for this great trip!
I booked the Lemosho route with them to climb Kilimanjaro with 2 friends. We booked a public one but ended up with a "private" tour, having a spacious tent for the 3 of us incl. an area for table and chairs.
The food was probably the best we had in Tanzania, also more variety than e.g. on Safari with another company.
We booked 8 days but ended up with 7 days as we skipped one camp as fitness level and lack of altitude sickness allowed for it (Hotel &transfers got rearranged accordingly by the team).
Our guides also did a good job managing our speed, especially for summit night which was hard due to heavy winds But finally we made it with a perfect timing for the sunrise at 6:30 to Uhuru Peak

5* + - all perfect!
We recently booked a trip with this travel company, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience! The planning process was seamless, with their team offering excellent advice and tailored recommendations. Every detail, from flights to accommodations, was handled with care, and everything ran on time. The local guides were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, making each destination come to life. I felt completely supported throughout the entire journey. If you’re looking for a hassle-free, unforgettable travel experience, I highly recommend this company!
