Our group of photographers was personally guided by Mr. Jamie Thom with finesse and wit.
5/5

I met a group of photographers by happenstance on a Botswanan Photographic safari led by Jamie Thom, owner of Conservation Safari Company a few years back. We all bonded during our 2 week Overland tour of Botswana. Sharing new experiences in the African bush has a tendency to bring people together and we have all become fast friends. We decided to reunite, from all corners of the world, for a Namibian photographic safari. You can guess we contacted Jamie immediately! He expertly listened to our expectations and quickly organized an itinerary that pleased the entire group. But even above his excellent organization Jamie's photographic advice was priceless. He helped all of us stretch out of our photography comfort zones with his solid advice and encouragement. Given Jamie's expertise about nature, wildlife, and photography I highly recommend Conservation Safari Company to anyone interested in completing an African safari.

Perfectly adjusted to our needs, professionaly organised, no detail missed.
5/5

We traveled as a small group of 5 people of different ages (70, 60, 50, 12). It was not very easy to prepare the agenda not boring to younger participants and same time not exhausting to those not that young. Jamie and Garrick from Conservation Safaris did the job perfectly. They advised us on the agenda, tho lodges and all logistics in Botswana and Vic Falls. We touched the desert life of humans and animals in Central Kalahari, we were wandering on plains and marshes of the delta Okavango, Unforgettable views of young cheetah looking for her mother, mating leopards, a hippo chasing another hippo on the land, lion cubs looked after by several male adults, kudu antelope playing with wild melon... Just amazing. Walking safari through the bush drives some extra adrenaline even if you know you are under good care of two experienced trackers... And, as most Europeans, we felt some hesitation not being given formal voucher, tickets and so on prior to our safari trip. Just an agenda sent to us by Jamie. And everything worked perfectly - punctual light aircraft flights, in all lodges we were warmly welcome, all the pick-ups, transfers arranged in very professional way. Thank Jamie, thanks Garrick - with clean conscious I do recommend Conservation Safaris to everybody who wants to spend good holidays on safari trip :)

An extremely well organised exciting holiday with memories that will last a lifetime.
5/5

Jamie's email communications were extremely informative and covered every aspect of our tour. His attention to detail and information was excellent which resulted in a hassle free, wonderful and most enjoyable holiday. The standard of accommodation and service was fantastic. The local companies he used were extremely professional and went out of their way to look after us all. Our time in Rwanda The Gorillas and The Mountain Lodge was amazing. What an inspirational country. It would have been nice to see more. Duma Safaris were fantastic and our drivers, Shange and Msangi were amazing and lovely men. Their local knowledge was outstanding and they provided us with wonderful and amazing game viewing. The whole experience was beyond my expectations and I have visited most of the areas we went to previously, though about 20 years ago. Thank you Jamie for providing such an amazing and exciting holiday with memories at will last for ever. Thank you for your patience and effort in looking after us all and making sure that my gluten and dairy free diet was well catered for. I didn't expect that.

Gorrillas and the Great Migration
5/5

We had a ball, full days with so many firsts. This trip I really wanted to sit with the Gorillas, see a Rhino in the wild, a Cheetah and the great migration . We were so spoiled we did the lot and so much more, we were amongst the mega heard and there were so many big cats, Lions, Cheetah, Leopard and even the smaller ones Serval and Genet. The food was wonderful, the campsites spectacular with camp fires and the rawness of animal calls late in the night. The tents were large and all canvass and the mattress comfortable after a warm shower and three course meal. All the Safari guides were friendly and knowledgable as were the camp staff, we have all exchanged email addresses and communicated since. The vehicles were cleaned every day and were reliable and comfortable, we had plenty of fresh water to drink during our Safaris. The entire trip was well organised, we were able to meet every flight and check in point on time which can be hard in Africa sometimes. Jamie's skill as a professional photographer means you do come home with some very special photos, he provides the patience to sit and wait for the right moment and when that comes WOW! you have a classic memory for life. Also some very nice candid personal shots of us, very special. My second trip to Africa with Jamie and wont be my last!

Safari of a life time
5/5

It's hard for me to settle back into my life at home after such an exhilarating trip through East Africa! Our group was ideal size of 8 and a mixture of well experienced Africa travelers and first timers. The pre-departure information was so good the newbies were just as prepared as the others. Everything ran like clockwork, the camp staff and drivers were fantastic, catering to all our needs with a smile, and their own personal experience and knowledge was clearly extensive. The vehicles were well equipped with charging facilities, fridges and they were water tight (a consideration if you are traveling in rainy seasons...). The timing of the trip was perfect as the game viewing far out stripped our expectations. Jamie's experience as a tour operator and as a professional photographer made this trip a safari of a life time for me.

An excellent itinerary that ensured smooth transfers and showcased an array of wildlife experiences
5/5

It was great to stay at 2 different lodges at Kwandwe and being ushered off to our first game drive before checking into our lodges was more than welcome. Despite the unexpectedly cooler weather, the wildlife at the reserve was remarkable. The transfer from Zambia to the Elephant Camp was seamless and in addition to the beautiful Vic Falls, the morning walk with Sylvester, the cheetah, was truly amazing.
Botswana definitely provided much warmer weather and the wildlife there was very special. We thoroughly enjoyed the mokoro and seeing the diverse bird life, leopards as well as a pride of 10 lions together were just some of the additional highlights while there.

Jamie is so good at his job we nicknamed him "The Oracle"!
5/5

I have traveled many places and spent several years in Africa. It is a place that draws me back time and time again. This trip with Jamie was the best yet. We had a small group and with Jamie's experience and planning we were able to watch the African sun set with a leopard, sit and watch painted dogs and their pups hunting and playing and an elephant swim across the Chobe River. Our meals, accommodation and transport were all enjoyable and exceeded our expectations. Jamie's knowledge of the African bush and wildlife is incredible and has us returning for another safari in 2015! He is a pleasure to deal with and very informative and supportive during the planning and booking stage as well. I highly recommend Jamie Thom Conservation Safaris to anyone intending to travel to Africa and I have done so personally to all my friends!
