With Mega Adventures nothing can go wrong, best insider tip I ever got!
5/5

Our safari was nothing but a m a z i n g ! You'd think we were part of the discovery channel. I'm so happy I got this insider tip from a friend who used to live in Tanzania. Mohammed (our organizer), Abu (our guide and driver) and Mudi (our chef) were such good hosts. I'm forever grateful for Mega Adventures' extreme kindness and helpfulness. Without these guys, I'm positive that we'd have spent at least twice as much for half the experience. We saw more then we could have wished for (and more than the other groups we met along the way..) And with the land rover nothing could stop Abu! The Migration, the Big Five, cheetahs.. you name it, we saw it! (Once I've finished the editing of my camera material, I'll share the link of a short movie, and you can see for yourself.) Oh, and the food was incredible! Thumbs up :)

If you're interested in why and how it was so great, here's a longer excursion of what happened:

First we went on a walking safari with a ranger (I advise you to bring water!). It was extremely interesting, we saw so many traces of animals, got to know much about them, and then we just bumped into more and more of them and followed them around. This day we saw a lot of giraffes, and to see them up close on the ground was breathtaking.
We camped in a little town with a pool and showers and good food..

The next day we went through Serengeti and saw the migration.. first you see a couple of zebras, and you're amazed, then some antelopes. Then the antelopes are everywhere and you see a dark gnu, and your amazed, then you see zebras and antelopes and gnus absolutely everywhere, the horizon is just a black line in every direction, made by these incredible animals. Once passed the great migration. We saw a lion on the side of the street, gazing in the sun.. further away another one pops up.. and then another three.. and it just goes on and on. We saw at least 20 lions in total!
Then, all of the sudden the car stops. We've apparently arrived to our campsite - in the middle of the park! This night made us feel so alive! There were hyaenas screaming and running past our tents at night. It's not a joke: you're in the wilderness. You could obviously choose to stay in a lodge if you don't feel comfortable. But for our group this camping experience was something we were grateful and happy to experience.

The following day we started out at dusk. Driving around in complete silence. We couldn't see a thing. Some elephants walking along the horizon as the sun rises.. We almost lost hope in seeing anything.. But then my sister saw something along the road. We thought it was a lion, but as we came closer.. the shape get's more and more obvious: a leopard, and further away another one (this is very rare, since leopards are mainly seen in pairs when they mate). We followed them, as they walked through the high grass. Then one of them climbed the tree and the sun was just right.. And then, as if that wasn't enough, Abu saw something further away - something the leopards hadn't seen yet - a cheetah with three little cubs were gazing and playing respectively. We were just a couple of meters away from these animals, without distracting them, and could peacefully follow them around. These five cats were my highlight! Later on we stopped one meter in front of one of those typical elephant crossings. It must have been at least 20 elephants crossing the street. So playful and nice. We saw some lions on the way to Ngorongoro and got to our campsite just next to the crater. Elephants kept coming there, to drink water from the well. At night buffalos came up the hill to eat..

Following day we went out to see the crater. All of these animals gathered in the greatest unfilled volcanic crater in the world. The sight itself is enough to stay stunned. We went through the park and there, not far away, a black rhino is walking towards the vehicle. Closer and closer, and then across the road just in front of our car. It was such a precious moment. Later we saw another two black rhinos further away, along the horizon.

Even after the safari Mohammed sorted us out and gave us tips on what to do with the rest of our days in Tanzania and Zanzibar. He never stopped to amaze me. Just the kindest person!

It was just such a nice experience, we were all extremely happy and overwhelmed. The food, the kindness, the engagement, the nature, the animals…

Wish you all a wonderful trip if you decide to go to Tanzania, and especially Mega Adventures, then nothing can go wrong!

Pole Pole, Hakuna Matata :)

You Can Touch The Stars In Tanzania

With Mega Adventures.. You Can Touch The Stars In Tanzania
Autumn 2015

Nothing was as expected.
News reports and the latest on CNN say that Tanzania is the best Safari destination.. well, we visited tanzania, it is the best indeed.

Alarabiya News Channel team had 22 days trip to Tanzania .. were full of experience and excitement. That is unforgettable.

Living next door to Masai, we were observing them, learning a lot of their vision and beliefs..
We enjoyed the simple yet very comfortable accommodation in clean private tent for each one of us.. pillows were super!

We couldn't leave Manyara without feeling the taste of its nature in a huge sand storm that turned day to night for more than 8 minutes. Mohammad Atik was next to everyone and at the same time.. he is always there.. don't understand how he does it but we are sure he is talented.

Mohammad Atik and his team of Mega Adventures take care of everything.
We had a proper kitchen cooking all day and a dining table for everyone. Chef was so talented preparing healthy and tasty food.

Briefly, 4 days close to Masai people taught us the concept of Happiness.

We had a "fairy" stay by the huge dangerous active volcano Oldonyo Lengai, the accommodation was so relaxing in the middle of nature , having tasty breakfast and a lot of exotic fruits on the birds songs was magical.

In Oldonyo Lengai the earth was too hot, with the contrast of the too cold river there.. we experienced the beautiful harmony of the nature. We didn't leave the location before walking almost "forever" to reach the shore of Lake Natron. The team of Mega Adventures made the walk easy by telling us so much interesting stories about the lake and the Masai there all the way until we have reached the flamingos.
The pink color there is the trend. Flamingos are thousands living in the most tranquil peaceful land on earth.

Next is a big adventure... to the WILD.
We planned to spend another 5 days in Serengeti. With the very strong 4 wheel unbeatable vehicles we have crossed the long way from Oldonyo Lengai to Serengeti in comfort and good services all the way, and most of all safe driving by Frank and Mohammad Atik.

Serengeti, that endless land has no rules for animals but a lot of strict rules for humans. Mega Adventures team offer professional guidance about the land, animals, weather, food and the most luxurious accommodation in the wild.
I couldn't help myself take a photo of only one corner of that tent in early morning. I will go there again. We all do. We miss that healthy well done and 5 stars served breakfast, lunch & dinner.
The place is on a plan to visit on every vacation.. few days there can refresh body and soul.. I don't know if you would beieve this.. stars were too close to us staying by the fire in the middle of wild and listening to cute animals like zebra or giraffe having dinner behind the trees around us.. there we have changed our life perspectives.

In a shiny morning, was time to move to the icon Kilimanjaro.. we call it the love mountain .. you will easily fall in love there.. Kilimanjaro is where love is in the air. Hard to climb it but not impossible specially when there is Bouga Bouga leading you to the Top.

The nature and the people make the green icy mountain and the waterfalls around "a must to do" thing, at least once in a lifetime.

It is Zanzibar time after kilimanjaro , "Zanz" the place of blue crystal water, the place of mixed cultures, the place of open hearted people.

Frank is the one who was always choosing the easiest and shortest way to magical adventures. He is a way much better than Google map!

Mega Adventures super cars made it to the land of coffee, sailing to the turkoise shore, to the spices market and so much more .. Zanzibar does not sleep, the city is simply alive.

We wish we could open our hearts to show our love to Mohammad Atik, Abdul Fattah Atik, Frank, Bouga Bouga, Stanley, the best team of Mega Adventures.
We were there and we will go again and again. See you soon Tanzania .. hakuna matata.

So good I did it twice.

the "luck" in seeing the animals largely thanks to guides who sees everything and are very knowledgeable. I was on the "budget" safari, the food was outstanding (thanks you Charles) and everything was clean and lovely.

Amazing Trip!
5/5

We had a really nice weekend! Even if we were just in the smaller National Parks, we saw many animals (more than expected) and were lucky to see lions hunting! It was amazing! Many thanks to our great guide, Hussein, who informed us quiet a lot and speaks English very well. Our accommodation was very nice. It seemed like every wish would be fulfilled and the meals have been tasty!
This weekend-trip exceeded our expectations!
Many thanks to Mega Adventures!

Perfect Tanzanian adventure in wild nature with the best!
5/5

I was volunteering in Tanzania and together with my friends we decided to do the safari. My friend recommended the Mega Adventures Travel to me. From the very first moment I knew it was a good choice. Dodo (CEO) was super helpful, he made a lot of effort to help us with safari, organize everything for us, explained a lot about the nature and nationals parks. Safari itself is an unforgettable experience and I will remember forever how we slept in the midle of Serengeti under the stars with all the wild animals. Food was delicious, we saw all the animals from big 5 and enjoyed it very much. I felt like princess, everybody was looking after us and it was not only about the money. They really tried hard to make the best from the safari for us. Asante sana! :)

*marvelous trip*
5/5

Our safari was a fantastic adventure, that we will always be in our minds and hearts. During our 3 days we saw not only all of the big five but so much more. It s the most beautiful and breathtaking environment you can ever imagine. We made the the safari in a big group with 7people and i would really recommend that. The guides were great fun to be with and i really felt they knew what they were doing and were doing it with all of their hearts. They could tell us so much and i felt always safe with them. Everything was well organized and the food and equipment up to western standards, and also very delicious (not talking about the equipment here).
If you are staying in tanzania you really have to make a safari and i would surly recommend you to go with this company for us it was just the right choice so we could truly enjoy this marvelous trip

Traveling on a college budget - affordable and well worth it!
5/5

Based in Moshi, TZ, Mega Adventures was affordable, respectful, and exceptionally accommodating. I took four separate trips with Mega over the span of 3 weeks - each was incredible. Days trips to the Materuni, Lake Chala and Kili and a 4 day camping Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. All of my guides spoke great English, were very knowledgeable about wildlife, and were extremely patient to stop for pictures often!! Tanzanians driving can be quite nerve racking, but no worries Mega drivers know what they ade doing and are very safe. Camping was so fun! The sites were absolutely beautiful - sleeping in Serengeti is kind of awesome and sleeping under a huge fig tree on the rim of the crater was gorgeous! We had a full breakfast lunch and dinner every day - the food was really good (I've never eaten so much or so well camping). Be prepared for lots of bumpy roads and the free"African massage"! I hope to go back to Moshi very soon and look forward to working with Mega again!
