Was an amazing experience that exceeded all expectations
5/5

From start to finish our trip was excellent and I wouldn't change a thing. We had a fabulous driver/guide that was not only knowledgeable but also as interested in nature as we are. I never expected to see the volume of animals and the up close encounters we experienced, it was an unbelievable trip. The accommodations, the safari vehicle and choice of locations were perfect. Tempo did an outstanding job! Would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Tanzania.

Perfect guiding and accomodations. Wonderful introduction to Africa
5/5

Tembo Adventures is a locally owned and operated Tanzanian safari guiding company. Their contacts within the local community provided closer connections with the many other local people and staff we met along the way. We wanted to see animals of course, but we also wanted to meet people and become acquainted with Tanzanian culture, history, and current times. If you want to go on safari with a local - Tembo Adventures is your company! (Most other guiding choices are actually owned operated by ex-pats, and often headquartered outside of Tanzania. So Tembo is very unique in this way.)

Tembo Adventures were very easy to deal with. They answered numerous questions as we arranged the trip - including changes about where to stay. And the places they recommended were all excellent: the hotel in Arusha, Lodge at Ngoragora, tent camp at Ndutu, and the magnificent Kubu Kubu "tented" Lodge at the Serengeti. Tembo handled all the internal arrangements very efficiently - there were no hitches or problems at all. Tembo also helped us with arrangements not related to the safari as we did some additional travelling to Zanzibar.

Our guide Sevrin was an excellent guide. We didn't come with a list of animals to see, but ended up seeing the Big Five and at least fifty more - all up close, walking by our parked car: lions, cheetahs, leopard, black rhino, elephants, hippos, giraffes, flamingos, and herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelles, antelopes, and buffalo. Severin also has a good eye and always found the perfect angle for photographing. We also enjoyed talking with Severin about Tanzania's history and current times. Climate change, and economic and political issues are on all our minds.

We are English speakers and found all the staff at Tembo very easy to communicate with (as well as all the staff we met along the way). Written English was sometimes a little tricky, but not a problem. For example, the final written itinerary was very clear as to what was being provided at what cost - and what was not covered. And all the terms were fully met.

We highly recommend Tembo Adventures.

Exceeded All My Expectations and Tour Guides Were Amazing!
5/5

I cannot say enough great things about my trip to Tanzania with Tembo Adventure and Safaris! The guides were very knowledgeable, entertaining, friendly, accommodating and so much fun. We saw every type of animal I expected to see and more! I took over 2500 pictures of amazing animals and beautiful scenery. The trip was expertly planned and we didn't have to worry about a thing. All transportation, meals, resorts, coffee, lunch and snacks for game drives...everything was handled for us. Our tour guides took wonderful care of us during our stay and I especially appreciated them accommodating my need for gluten free meals. I have Celiac's Disease and did not have a problem with finding gluten free options while I was there. I would highly recommend Tembo to anyone wanting a stress free, fun and exciting adventure tour in Tanzania!

A spectacular safari with close up encounters with al the wonderful african wildlife.
5/5

One of my favorite days on safari this year was an extra day spent in Ngorongoro Crater with our personal guide Justin Solomon Laizer. Justin's incredible eyes and skill at tracking game positioned us right in the path of a large pride of lions. We stood and watched as the entire group walked up to and around our vehicle before continuing on their way across the savanna. I took several hundred pictures of that spectacular encounter and over 8000 during our 10 days with Tembo. Thank you again Justin and Tembo Adventure and Safari for a most spectacular day that I will remember for the rest of my life.

An adventure I'll never forget :)
5/5

Justin is an awesome tour guide! When you do a tour, do request him. My group came from University of Wisconsin La Crosse on a study tour, and over the course of a week, we went to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara Biosphere Reserve, and Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. We saw so many cool animals, two Maasai villages, and some spectacular views :)

A most excellent adventure led by a highly skilled (also fun and friendly) team of guides.
5/5

Our two weeks with Tembo were filled with the extraordinary wildlife of east Africa. Our guides were highly skilled at finding and identifying all the various animals (including the numerous species of birds we encountered). Because of their knowledge, experience, and desire to provide a first -class safari we were blessed to see more "National Geographic" moments that I ever imagined. They did everything possible to make the trip fulfilling, fun, and safe. Because they are all warm and open individuals, the trip had a real "family" feel, and much of our time on the game drives was spent laughing and joking around. I give Tembo Adventures the highest rating possible !! It was an unforgettable experience.

Service and Trust
5/5

Tanzania is the country to go to for animals, and Tembo Adventure and Safari is the best company to make this adventure a reality. We just completed our 4th tour with Justin and his crew and with 10,000 pictures to prove it, it was again the “adventure of a life time”. Tembo worked closely with us to tailor our group’s trip based on the experiences gleaned from the previous three groups in 2014 and 2015. This year’s twelve person group was mostly seasoned older adult travelers who are photographically inclined individuals. We decided to schedule only four people to a Land Rover for optimum wildlife viewing and photography, and it worked out perfectly. We scheduled two weeks, staying at five excellent tented camps and resorts to allow for maximum safari time along with some leisure time. We headed out every morning well rested and well fed, to find our well seasoned and experienced guides at the well maintained vehicles that were washed and windows cleaned almost every day. I have travelled extensively in my 70+ years, and I’ve filled up 4 passports. This trip without a doubt was the most exciting and truly the “Adventure of a Lifetime”. Justin and the Tembo Adventure and Safari crew have changed my life. For additional details please see my evaluation from last year’s trip dated Sep 11, 2015. Everything I wrote then is still applicable, and Tembo’s service is still totally customer focused and overall an excellent experience. I highly recommend you contact Tembo for any type of Tanzania adventure. They will be happy to tailor your experience based on your interests, timeframe and budget. If you have any questions, concerns, please contact me. pleistocene@verizon.net

The magnificence of Tanzania through the eyes of Tembo Adventure and Safari.
5/5

Tembo Adventure and Safaris did a super job guiding us through parts of Tanzania. They were extremely knowledgable and answered all our questions with depth, facts, and at times, humor. They were kind and thoughtful, and really saw to our every need. I would recommend them wholeheartedly, and am hoping I can do another trip with them.
