This was an incredible experience from start to finish -- all 10 days were packed full of adventure!
5/5

Paul Tamwenya was our guide, and Paul was instrumental in making this an adventure of a lifetime! Our family of 10 persons (4 adults and 6 children) spent 10 days touring Uganda -- and we all loved every day and every activity organized by Paul. The accommodations were safe and clean with delicious food, the vehicle was excellent, and Paul brought us to the best possible places in Uganda for sightseeing! This included an exciting day with mountain gorillas and a separate visit to chimpanzees in a state park. We loved Uganda and we are grateful to Paul for making this an incredible holiday that we will always remember!

A truly magical few weeks brought to life by an exceptional guide with an extraordinary knowledge
5/5

The time we spent in Uganda with Paul was truly some of the best we have encountered in our extensive travels of the world. From the initial planning stages to the last day of the trip, nothing was too much trouble. Paul listened to what we wanted, understood and found it. During the trip he demonstrated an incredible level of knowledge of the land, its people and its flora and forna, constantly adapting our trip seamlessly in the face of the unpredictable nature of this beautiful country. Truly an exceptional experience, we would never travel again to East Africa with anyone else.

Once in a lifetime experience with an incredibly sincere, passionate and friendly guide.
5/5

My travels through Uganda with Paul were absolutely unforgettable. From the moment he met us in Kampala we felt very safe, relaxed and comfortable. All aspects of our tour were well organised and professional. We saw an exceptional amount of wildlife and Paul's knowledge on birds is second to none. Our lodgings were fantastic with comfort and cleanliness being first class. I can not recommend Paul highly enough and in fact was so impressed I toured with him twice! We still maintain a friendship seven years after our safari tour.

Excellent trip with a very knowledgeable guide,Paul.we only had a few days but as we had different activities every morning and afternoon it seemed like a week. The standard of the accommodation was fine and the staff at a the lodges were very helpful. The trip to see the shoebills was exceptional an Paul's knowledge and use of local guides as well meant that we saw a very wide variety of birds and mammals. In all a great trip

3 days birding

An excellent trip with Paul - very well informed and helpful guide. I particularly enjoyed visiting the swamp to see the shoebills & herons, and Murchison falls. Good accommodation throughout.

A memorable 5 day birding safari in central and south-western Uganda
5/5

We already knew Uganda well and were familiar with many of its birds but this was the first time that we had been on a birding safari and it introduced us to a new dimension. From start to finish it exceeded our expectations. Paul, our guide, was brilliant at spotting and identifying birds as well as being extremely knowledgeable about them. He had the whole safari extremely well organised and proved to be an excellent driver; accommodation and food were good; there were no hidden extras. Paul shaped the whole safari to meet our particular interests and we cannot speak too highly of the safari that he gave us.

Fantastic Uganda birding trip focussing on the Albertine Rift Endemics
5/5

The trip was my second birding adventure with Jungle Safaris. From the minute I approached Paul about going birding in Uganda again, he was very enthusiastic about it and proposed an itinerary where we could find birds that we missed out the last time. I wanted to see more of the Albertine Rift Endemics and also get a first impression of the Guinea-Congo Forests biome endemics in Semliki National Park. The trip was very well organized from the beginning to the end, from carefully selected accommodations to visiting birding hot spots en route while travelling to the next destination, also using local guides to get the most out of it. As a birding guide and person, I can highly recommend Paul – he is reliable and friendly as well as extremely good at spotting birds not only while driving or in the open, but also in the forest by recognizing faint movements in the vines or by hearing distant bird songs in the canopy. With his guidance, I was able to see many rare forest and woodland species. The birding highlight of the trip was seeing Chapin’s Flycatcher in the Buhoma area of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where we had a wonderful day walking in the rain forest. Overall, the trip was very memorable – it was the kind of experience that you want to get again and again. I love birding – and Paul has the knowledge and the passion to show his customers his beautiful country and its birds, always going the extra mile. I can’t wait to go to Uganda again with Jungle Safaris.

Birding in Uganda
5/5

I had a chance to book a recent birding trip with Jungle Safaris. I wanted to see the Shoebill and other birds in Uganda. Ibrahim S was my guide (yes, the one mentioned in an earlier Malawi travel book by Brandt) and we had a fantastic time. We went to Mpamba Swamp and did see the incredible shoebill; we spent a day in the Botanical Gardens for some fantastic birding and then Mpambira (sp?) Forest. Ibrahim is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about birding. Great personality as well. I would book another birding tour with Jungle Safaris.

A trip of a lifetime
5/5

Myself and my wife joined Paul Tamwenya and two other guests on a safri though Uganda and Rwanda. The logistics of the trip were well handled. The trip concentrated on birding but we got to see a lot of wildlife including chimps and gorillas.
Paul helped to make this trip so special, he is a joyful friendly confident guide; he is extremely knowledgeable about birds and all Uganda wildlife; he is well known at the parks and lodges we stayed at and arranged great rangers to join us when needed. Paul is very active in the certification of other guides, he is committed to the cause of Uganda providing world class guiding. He is in a word a "world-class".
You will enjoy his trips.

Great safari and birding trip
5/5

Three day birdwatching and safari with Paul...very bespoke and just the job. First day t the banks of Lake Victoria with amazing views of the Shoebilled stork. Then up towards Murchison Falls Park with great birdwatching en route. Accommodation and food was all of a high standard, Paul and his colleagues were very knowledgeable and the whole trip was pitched well for all the members of the party. Only issues...said breakfast included on the first day which was not the case. Also...we had a potentially serious problem with a burst tyre. This required repair; I wonder if the company need to examine their policy about spare wheels. But overall a fantastic short holiday.
