The tour turned out to be EXACTLY as outlined by Paul Justine. No surprises. Honest.
The tour was planned several months in advance by us. The money was wired to the agency in 3 tranches. This is a honest Safari outfit. The outline of every day - including meals, hotels, additional costs - is clearly spelled out in advance. The vehicle (Land Cruiser) was comfortable and the driver/guide (in our case, Edwin) was polite/friendly/very knowledgeable. All in all, our Safari was enjoyable, thanks to the detailed organizational skills of Tanzania Roadside Expeditions.

Unforgettable experience!
Tanzania Roadside helped us to organize our 5 days safari. Idriss was our guide and he was perfect, always ready to answer all questions we had and also with spotting animals. What is also really important we felt really safe for whole time with him!
I can totally recommend organizing a safari with them and for sure if I will go to safari again I will organize it with them! Thank you for amazing time!

Paul promptly answered our numerous questions and clearly laid out what was covered in the tour.
It was quite intimidating to wire our safari payment directly to Tanzania, but Paul Justine, the tour operator, gave clear directions and also confirmed when he received the payment. There were 4 of us traveling on this particular two-week safari to Kenya and Tanzania and when the one couple had to back out within 3 weeks of our trip due to an unexpected and severe illness, Paul graciously returned their money in full! Each guide (one for each country) displayed great knowledge of the animals, where to find them within the park, and each one was friendly and accommodating. We had given the tour operator a monetary range and from there he chose a variety of fun accommodations from a hotel to a canvas tent (complete with shower and toilet!)

Best private safari for best value
Highly recommend picking your safari with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions. We did an 11 day tour, starting in Kenya before heading to Tanzania and ending with two days in Zanzibar. From all my research, Roadside was by far the cheapest for what we were looking for, but that didn't detract at all from the luxury private safari experience. Bonus!
From the first communication, Paul and team were always helpful and quick to respond to any questions - and we had a lot. They were also supportive of the numerous changes we made to the tour as we decided what to add/drop multiple times over.
During the tour, both guides were very professional and knowledgeable (as well as the city guide in Stone Town). We got to see the Big 5, not an aspiration we had before going, but Idris really pulled through our last day on safari and got us to the rhino a minute before it disappeared back into the forest.
All the hotels we stayed at were great. We were uncertain about the Rhino Lodge when we first showed up as it didn't look to be the same level as the other hotels, but the Cape Buffalo, Elephants and other animals that wandered right through the property as you sit out on your porch are worth the rustic vibe. As a vegetarian, I also had plenty of food options at all the hotels and the brown box lunches we had on safari days were also full, so I never felt hungry.
If I'm ever fortunate enough to do another safari in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to book with Roadside again.

Incredible experience

It was the best experience of my life. With our guide Wolta is going perfect. We saw all animals ... top 5 (giraffes, hippos, lions, zebras, rhinos, gepard, etc. I can this tour operator recommended.

Dream-Trip with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions
We had a wonderful trip to Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Paul is a very competent organizer and always responded promptly during the planning phase and when we had questions. The joy of meeting each other was great when we were picked up at the airport. Justine, our safari guide, my husband, and I got along very well. Justine was very attentive and enthusiastic, ensuring that we had a great time and could see the Big Five. Communications from first contact, making travel arrangements - ongoing during the vacation, as well as after our trip - were prompt and accommodating. Drivers organized by Paul were always on time and very friendly. Paul customized our African experience to suit our needs exactly as requested.
James, our Safari driver is the best in the business. He located and identified every species that we wanted to see and much, much more. His kind, thoughtful, respectful mannerism endeared us immensely. He always patiently waited while we photographed the wildlife that we saw, no matter how long it took to get the desired photo. He is a true professional.
We cannot express enough how much these 2 gentlemen went above and beyond our expectations to make our safari tour a cherished life-time memory.

An amazing experience from start to finish
My friend and I booked a 5 day safari with Roadside expeditions to see Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorogoro. Paul was very helpful when we were booking the Safari and answered all our questions. The Safari was pretty much exactly how he described it. The only surprise was how close the wildlife would get to our vehicle. The 1st day in Tarangire we parked to watch a group of elephants grazing and they ended up walking so close to us we could hear them eating. James our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
When I go back I won’t hesitate to book another Safari with Roadside expeditions.
