Our guide, John, was extremely knowledgeable, tireless, resourceful and had a good sense of humor.
5/5

We embarked on the safari in Tanzania, exploring a number of popular game areas in the National park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro conservation area. Having no expectations of what a safari offered, I was astonished that John kept us all completely captivated as he drove the Land Cruiser searching animal sightings. We were not disappointed to see so many animals and John had the knack for knowing where to find them. This was the end of the rainy season and the roads were sometimes “just passable” but John made driving look easy. I always felt at ease knowing that an adventure lay ahead. We were seeing numerous wild animals in their own environment and it was thrilling. Included in the knowledge that John had about the history of various stages of African development throughout history, John had full knowledge of animals, birds and vegetation. It was absolutely enthralling.

Small company that sweats the small details
5/5

African Wildcats is a small company but they make a huge effort. The vehicles were comfortable, the guides were knowledgeable and eager to answer questions, and the accommodations that were arranged as part of our safari were first rate. All in all, our group couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I think I can safely say that everyone’s expectations were exceeded - even blown away!

By the time you finish your safari with them, the extraordinary seems ordinary
5/5

From the original contact to planning out the accommodations and figuring out which parks to visit, Jacob, John, and the team were amazing at making sure that the Safari we had was unique to us and enjoyable. We saw so many extraordinary sights that it was easy to expect them every time.

The details and the handling of the trip made me wish that all my travel could be as seamless! While you might not know much about them before you go, by the time you leave, you have a new friend. It’s so enjoyable traveling with these great guides.

I have used African wildcats expeditions for my last five safaris. Every one of them has been amazing. Don’t overlook this smaller company, there’s a lot of great value for your money here.

Safari njema!

Extraordinary experience, experienced guides, personalised and flexible program'!
5/5

In July we went on a tour with African Wildcats Expeditions with 13 persons.

Communication-
Good communication between us and African Wildcats, all the question we asked them got a fast response! Before the trip we had the change to meet them in Holland to ask even more questions and being able to look at the final details of the trip. When we finished a day there was always a short briefing where they gave us information for the next day. They gave us good dressing tips and a list of items thats a must.

Service-
The service was amazing! Always on time, their english was good, no problems with hotels, good meals and there was always water availeble and they even got WI-FI on board!

The tour-
The way how they made the program was simply amazing! The way they build up the parks and what animal we can see where was just perfect. They included all our wishes, we saw the big 5, we visited a school, local villages and some amazing views. The Hotels they picked had good services, good meals and some had amazing views! They drove very good so we couldn't get car sick and we even got the change to sleep! The tourguides (Jacob & Kiki) mastered english! They also knew alot about the animals, nature and culture, and that was very intresting. You could learn something new every few minutes if you wanted to! We saw various scenery and they made sure we got the best views and best experiences! The Touring cars included every u need, electricity, binoculars, WI-FI, clean water, extra information books, comfy seats and a good driver/guide! We got clear briefings the day before and it was very flexible. If we wanted something to change they provided good alternatives and fulfilled all our wishes.

I can recommend African Wildcat Expeditions to everyone because they simply provide you the best experience you can wish for!

Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

We spent 8 glorious days on safari with African Wildcats in August & from our very first enquiry email to our drop off at our departure airport, I cannot express how amazing the whole experience was. Our guide John was professional, knowledgable, kind & fun - nothing was too much trouble for our Wildcat team in order to make it the trip of a lifetime for us! As a keen photographer I am delighted too with the many wonderful photographs that I got & am extremely grateful to John for finding the wonderful animals and getting the best possible view of them in their surroundings. We learnt loads about Tanzania's history, wildlife & cultures on our days in our trusty jeep with a lot of laughs on the way! Our lodge accommodations & every meal was perfect. I couldn't recommend African Wildcats Expeditions more highly.

Excellent organisers, wildlife & culture-guides, drivers, troubleshooters and communicators
5/5

African Wildcats helped us (via extensive email-contact) to plan and book a safari in Tanzania, followed by whaleshark-snorkeling on Mafia Island.
Together we decided on the best route, types of accomodatiopns, lenght of stay, etc. Their advise and suggestions have proven excellent.

The trip itself was a big succes, not only did we see the big 5, we saw huge herds of zebra and wildebeest, lots of smaller animals, birds, local markets, masai villages (not the touristic kind) and learned a lot about the (Masai) culture and the flora and fauna. Our diver/guide (Jacob) really took the time to show us the things we wanted to see and knew how to plan everything just so that we were never in a hurry.

The accomodations they found for us (tented lodges) were exectly right for us. Sleeping, eating, douching was always a pleasure and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

I recommend anyone looking for a safari in Tanzania to book the trip with African Wildcats.

Perfect Safari With Excellent Guide - The Highligt of Our African Family Holidays
5/5

We are big german family with 6 people and travel a lot. We compared different safari providers and tour companies and finally read about African Wild Cats Safaris. It was well recommended and so we decided to contact them. The good reputation and the very polite team and realistic prices convinced us.
This was our trip:
We started our safari with airport transfer to Moshi, had a relaxed night at the Aishi hotel which was very nice. All transfers very perfect in time.
Safari day 1 we went to Machame village, Chagga-Caves, waterfalls and plantation. There we had an additional local guide and cooked together with the chagga people from Machame village and ate original local food. We picked coffee beans, went through a typical home garden and visited an original chagga house.
The next day we went to Arusha national park. It was our first safari impression with many animals, beautiful lakes, flamingos and a real nice picknick at the lake. We spent the night at Kiboko lodge. This was in the middle of nature, very authentic and with perfect rooms and service. Even there is limited hot water and electricity supply, it was a perfect night with very comfortable lodge, very good food and helpful team. In the morning we had a wonderful view at Mount Meru.
One day later we drove to Tarangire National park. There Jacob showed us lions, cheetah, a hunting leopard, many very close elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, beautiful birds, …… it was great.
Despite our plans, we did not go to Lake Manyara National park, because we wanted to spend a second day at Tarangire Park – for Jacob it was no problem – he was very flexible.
The night at Sangaiwe tented camp was perfect. The tent-houses are very comfortable, clean and spacious. Every tent-house has a veranda with beautiful view, nice big bathroom, electricity, hot water and every comfort you need – this was by far the best place to stay!
Then we went the long way to Twiga lodge for the next trip to Ngorogoro crater. On the way Jacob helped us at a massai market to find a special local blanket. This was very helpful. Twiga lodge is ok for one night because it is directly on the way to the crater road and you have to get up early to reach the park entrance in the morning light.
The Ngorogoro Crater is a must for the safari adventure. We saw a big group of more than 10 lions, many hippos, rhinos, herds of zebras, buffalos, kudus, blue wildebeest, some jackals, hyaena, …. We saw the big five. Went back to Arusha, spent the night at green mountain hotel and went further on to Zanzibar from Arusha airport. Again perfect transfer in time.

Our experience with African Wild Cats Safari:
The team of African Wild Cats and especially Jacob as a guide and driver is perfect organized. All our correspondence was fast, helpful and the prices were well calculated. Jacob is very experienced with safaris and can show you all the interesting places, animals, told as many details of culture, people, Massai life and he is a very safe driver. The children loved the safari with Jacob and we all listened very carefully to his explanations. We had a great time at Tansania with the safari. Jacob was always very friendly, helpful, polite and became a real friend of the whole family. We had great holidays – Thank you again !
In my company I am the quality manager and I surely can recommend Jacob and African Wild Cats as an experienced, trustworthy and reliable safari tour management in Tansania (Christoph)

Unforgettable! Once in a lifetime experience! Best safari in Tanzania.
5/5

We had contact with John and Jacob and together we made a made-to-measure trip based upon their experience and our wishes. They were very flexible and always looking for best possibilities. Our guide was Benson and he was born in the Serengeti where he stayed until he was 18. Ben learned us a lot about animals and the nature in all parks. Also he was very gentle to travel with; we had great fun as well. Arusha Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti: amazing! We saw a lot of animals; even the migration of the wildebeasts! After 10 days Tanzania we relaxed for 6 days at Zanzibar; also very nice!
We do recommend to book with African Wildcats instead of booking with an european/american agency; because you support the Tanzanian people directly!
We had a once in a lifetime experience!
