Dreamy days!
5/5

It was my first overseas trip.Although it was very uneasy, the two guides were very friendly and reliable and enjoyed traveling with peace of mind. The guides were very detailed about animals and I was able to see many animals.I also want to ask them to drive and guide when traveling to East Africa!

Great service, excellent tour of Masai Mara & Nakuru
5/5

Spent 3 nights on safari with my wife. This trip was absolutely fantastic. Antony took care of everything: picking us up from the airport, and dropping us off, door to door, so in reality our guide worked with us for 5 days on the trip.

He took us from airport to hotel to safari lodge, from lodge to lodge, and back to Nairobi for our departure, was on time for everything, walked us through everything that was possible, didn't pressure us and helped us make good choices about what we wanted to do, and was super professional/reliable/knowledgeable as well as friendly and funny. He troubleshot logistics for us when necessary and was better at getting the jeep around the mud than almost anybody else we saw out on safari, and even towed several other tourists who'd gotten stuck with their guides out of the mud (we went during an unusually rainy May which might've precluded us from seeing things, our guide made sure it didn't).

We were able to spot the big five and saw a ton more thanks to him, all of this and at a way more reasonable price than I expected!

This was our first time in Kenya, Africa and first safari, and if we were returning or had friends going I'd 100% recommend working/booking with them.

Again first timers and New Yorkers so we were really stressed and worried things wouldn't go well, after one day with our guide we realized there was nothing to worry about.

Thanks again!!! 110% everything we wanted it to be. Highly recommend working with these guys, and after they saw our incredible photos, recommending these guides to my parents, he was awesome. Once in a lifetime trip, so much easier than I thought it would be :-D

3 day safari to Maasai Mara
5/5

We had a three day safari to the Maasai Mara. Our driver was very prompt to collect us from our accommodation in Nairobi to drive us to the Maasai Mara, including a stop to view the Rift Valley.

We were lucky to see a black rhino within a few minutes of driving through the gates of the National Park. Our driver decided not to take the "main route" to our accommodation, and instead took us on a "bonus" game drive where we saw 5 cheetahs relaxing underneath a tree and a 6th sitting in the open.

Despite being on safari during the long rains, our driver was very skilled at picking good routes to ensure we did not get stuck and we were very pleased to be in a 4x4 vehicle! He was very knowledgeable about the animals and birds in the area and happy to answer lots of questions. Our driver knew the area very well and where best to find various animals.

Highly recommended.

Went to Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara and saw the Big Five with Expert driver Antony!
5/5

We had the most pleasant experience with the expert driver Antony. He made us feel very welcome and took us to Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara. There, we saw the big five and many more animals. We felt most secure with out driver and we definitely would go on safari again with him!

an absolutely disappointing and frustrating experience with Tazama Holidays in the Masai Mara, Kenya
2/5

I just returned from a 6-nights private Migration Safari with Tazama Holidays in Kenya, quite expensive for a single traveller in a land cruiser. And it was absolutely disappointing!

The aim of my trip was very clear from the beginning on - wildlife photography of the wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara.

But their driver-guide, Eric, first only did classic game drives and only after unpleasant vivid discussions finally took me to the Talek River instead to the requested more important Mara River crossing points, with the result that we only got to see one crossing on the very last day (even though I showed him the exact points on a map!)

This driver of a 'photographic' safari (Tazama's own words) did not know anything about the simplest rules how to position the vehicle. He was very stubborn and did not take lightly to criticism. At any sightings he would spend most of the time on his phone (talking or checking messages). He definitely lacks even the most basic communicative skills (except with fellow drivers) as it proved to be extremely difficult to get any info or feedback. The only positive thing: he is a good driver and game spotter. It might well be that you fare better when going with the owner, Antony, himself. But although this was initially the plan also for my trip, this was changed shortly before leaving. You never know what you get!

Shortly before leaving for the trip Tazama proposed to change accommodation, an intimate eco-bush camp inside the Mara Reserve instead a much bigger one outside the reserve. This proved to be an excellent suggestion. However, also here Tazama disappointed as they stated this new camp would be more expensive, but they would not charge it to me. During my stay, however, I got the info that the bush camp was in fact about 20 percent cheaper - quite a sum for 6 nights which Tazama of course happily kept for themselves.

In short, if you don't ask for anything more than very general 'touristy' game drives and don't mind being ripped off for accomodation rates, if you are fine with a driver who does what he wants and does not communicate, go with Tazama.

Once (hopefully more) in a lifetime!!
5/5

My husband and I just finished a 4-day tour of the Masai Mara with Antony. He is super efficient and navigated through the Mara with expertise. He sang a local song when he picked us up and was very friendly and easy to get along with. His English was superb as well! He added a game drive to our itinerary because he knew how excited to we were to see the animals. He makes sure he does everything he can to see the animals you want to see. For example, we wanted to see the Wildebeest crossing and among tons of vehicles he made sure we weee front and center. I would absolutely book with Antony. He is the best guide you will get!!!

Excellent Safari
5/5

We had 3 days in Samburu, 1 at Lake Nakuru, 2 at Maasai Mara, 1 at Lake Naivasha and 2 at Amboseli. Eric was our guide and was excellent, finding us all the wildlife we hoped to see and keeping us entertained. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend Tazama holidays.
