Expect in Africa exceeded my expectations
5/5

This experience was truly amazing, incredible and seamless. I found Expect in Africa through this website and got in touch for a quote. I outlined my travel dates and plans and in no time, they prepared a very comprehensive itinerary with all the details for before, during and after my safari. They arranged my airport pickup, hotel in Arusha for the nights before and after my safari and even my airport drop-off to jet out to Zanzibar after the safari was concluded.

Lawrence and Raymond are polite, courteous and always punctual. Raymond truly made me feel taken care of during my safari. His knowledge and expertise of the wildlife, birds and landscape is truly marvelous. He made my safari so unforgettable.

The accommodations they selected during the safari was so special. Sleeping in a migration camp in the Serengeti? Not many can say they’ve done that but I can. The tent was so comfortable with all the amenities, it felt like “glamping” but still rustic enough. The animal sounds at night were the icing on the cake to remind you that you’re truly in the wilderness.

I would highly recommend Expect in Africa. They cover all the bases to make your safari experience unforgettable.

Their customer service, attention to detail, and eagerness to satisfy their customers is top tier.
5/5

Expect in Africa Safari is the best safari company in Tanzania. Their customer service, attention to detail, and eagerness to satisfy their customers is top tier. I'm so glad we chose them for our adventure.

Despite our trip being delayed by years due to COVID, Lawrence helped us navigate the delay, change in itinerary, and the addition of three family members. Lawrence took care of every detail of our itinerary, including booking the lodges, arranging airport pick up, and hotel booking prior to the start of the safari. We were able to be totally hands off when we landed in Tanzania.

When the safari started, we met our guide, Ray. Ray is a knowledgeable guide with experience not only on land animals but also with birds and plants. Ray made the safari a trip we would never forget. He would see and identify animals that were hundreds of meters away, giving us details and history associated with each one. We were able to see more animals that we hoped for, including all the Big 5, wildebeest migration, and a lioness attack/hunt.

Ray took care of us during the 7 days we spent with him. He drove us, navigated the terrain beautifully, and set up picnic lunch every single day. He anticipated our needs and answered all of our questions, both about the parks and animals, as well as the history and culture of Tanzania.

Ray, Lawrence, and the entire Expect in Africa Safari team made our trip an experience of a lifetime for the 5 of us. Thank you!

Expect in Africa organised the honeymoon of dreams for us in Tanzania!
5/5

My husband and I booked with Expect in Africa for our honeymoon in Tanzania and had the most amazing experience! Lawrence put together an excellent itinerary for us over 17 days. We started in Stone Town, Zanzibar then flew over to the mainland where we went on safari in Tarangire National Park, Ngorogoro Crater, and the Serengeti, and we also got to see the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River in the northern Serengeti. Our safari guide Joseph was amazing and so knowledgable about the areas we went and all the animals! We also did a day hike at Mount Kilimanjaro which was such a cool experience. After that, we went back to Zanzibar and stayed in Nungwi for some relaxation and also did a Zanzibar spice tour. We loved all of the lodges and hotels we stayed at, and everyone we met from Expect in Africa was so friendly. Every part of the trip was so great, and we made so many memories that we'll have for a lifetime. I would definitely recommend Expect in Africa to anyone going to Tanzania!

Our guide was very knowledgeable. There wasn’t a single question our guide could not answer.
5/5

Our tour organizer, Lawrence took care of all the details of the safari. I did not have to worry about a single thing. All the hotels were incredible and the best in Tanzania. Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience being in the Serengeti.
Our Guide, Ernest, was the best driver in Tanzania and a former instructor so his knowledge of animals and the climate was endless. Great people to get to know.
We did a 8 day safari which included the Tarangine national park for a day. We say most of the big 5 that day. The next day we went to the Ngorongoro crater. Definitely worth the experience. We saw plenty of animals and a Male lion with a fresh kill. Then after that we spent time in the central Serengeti. It was beautiful with endless views and incredible skies. We saw plenty of more animals. The last 3 days were spent in Northern Serengeti to see the Mara river crossing. It absolutely was worth the time and money. We had 3 days dedicated to the Mara river crossing and I saw a crossing of 1000+ wildebeast all three days. It was an incredible “planet earth” experience. Felt like I was apart of a live documentary. The Mara river crossing is why I chose this tour group over others because they were one of the few who offered it. They definitely delivered on the experience. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
The jeep was reliable, safe, and comfortable. They even had cold beers for us during the day when it got hot. Best vacation I have had so far.
Highly recommend this tour group. They take care of you every step of the way once you land and take care of all of the details.

The best tour organizers in the business!
5/5

Lawrence and Raymond from Expect in Africa were such a please to work with and we would HIGHLY recommend using them for your Safari tour in Tanzania! The team went above any beyond when our luggage went missing from the airline upon arrival by spending their entire evening and next morning carting us to different stores to purchase the items we would need on the safari. They also coordinated with the local airline in Swahili which really expedited the return of our luggage.

During the actual Safari, Raymond was so amazing! He knew the answers to all of our many questions and made sure we saw every single thing on our list, including a black rhino and the wildebeest river crossing with a crocodile eating a wildebeest right in front of our eyes! We would chat with other guests at the lodges who were with different tour organizers and none of them had seen the extent of animals and experiences each day that Raymond had shown to us. That really proved to us that Raymond was the best guide we could have ever asked for!

You will not regret booking your trip through Expect in Africa, 10 out 10!

An amazing experience of safari in the northern part of Tanzania
5/5

I had the opportunity to have a tour of the northern parks of Tanzania with Expect in Africa Safari and my experience with the company has been amazing. Lawrence, the manager helped me to arrange the flight from Italy to Tanzania and proved to be helpful, kind and really trustworthy. During my stay in the Country I had the opportunity to visit the Tarangire National Park, the Lake Eyasi, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Serengeti National Park and the Lake Natron. The guide, Raymond, picked me at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and brought me to the accomodation in the nearby city of Arusha, a green and vibrant city in the northern part of the Country, where I spent the first night before starting my tour from Tarangire the day after. Raymond, a really ice guy, fulfilled all of my requests and answered my questions about wildlife and culture of Tanzania. In the Tarangire National Park, famous for the beautiful baobab trees, I saw a lot of elephants and pytons lying on the branches of the trees and I have been extremely lucky to see some lions resting under the shadow of an acacia. I spent the night in the nearby Osupuko Lodge, a really nice lodge just out of the main gate, overlooking on the river which crosses the park. There I could admire a magnificent sunset, definitely the most suggestive I had attended in my life. My trip continued up the Lake Eyasi, about 100 kilometers north the day after. There I could get in touch with the local people, the Hadza, an ethnic group of hunters and gathers who still conduct a traditional way of life. Not far I spent the next full day at the Ngorongor Conservation Area and I had a safari in one of the most beautiful and incredible ecosystems of the world. It si basically a caldera which have been created by the collapse of an ancient volcano and there it is possible to admire lions, zebras, hyppos, rhinos, serval cats, antilopes, impala and several different species of birds. After have passed the night in the nearby Rhino Lodge, on the slopes of the Ngorongoro, Raymond and I headed the great plane of Serengeti, definitely the best place for a safari tour. It spans for 30000 km2 and there I saw lions killing and eating a zebra, leopards sleeping on the trees, I could admire the majestic beauty and class of the cheetahs and tens of giraffes, elephants, hyppos and other animals. Overall I spent 3 days in the Serengeti and I accomodate in the Osupuko tented camp, completely in the wild where I could here elephants moving during and crying hyenas during the night. I spent the last two days of my stay in Tanzania at the Lake Natron, a salted lake bordering Kenya which lays at the foot of the Oldoinyo Lengai, an active volcano which is extemely important for the Masaai who populate the area. They believe that God lives on the top of the volcano and when it erupts, means that God is angry, hence the Masaai are supposed to sacrifice a goat in his name. The colorful dress, the pride of this population and their will to preserve their traditional way of life really impressed me and I really appreciate the effort they are doing in order to defend their uses and customs. Once back to Arusha I had also the chance to have a walk in the local market, smelling the spicy air and being enchanted by the colourful fruits and veggies on the stands, with the opportunity to interact with the friendly sellers.
My experience in Tanzania with Expect in Africa Safari has been amazing. I had the opportunity to discover a new country and thank to the professionalism and passion of Raymond and Lawrence I could appreciate a different culture. I strongly reccomend Expect in Africa Safari and I am confident that future travellers will enjoy Tanzania as I did.
