Excellent in every way
5/5

We had a courteous and highly knowledgeable guide who took us to see elephant, a leopard and lions as well as many other animals.
The organisation was efficient, fitting our budget and our interests. We stayed in a beautiful lodge, falling asleep to the sound of hippos in the lake below.
I highly recommend Buffalo Safari Camps - a great way to enjoy this beautiful country and its rich wildlife.

Efficiently organized safari with a fabulous, knowledgable, friendly guide!
5/5

We used Buffalo Safari Camps to plan and organize our 7 day trip in Uganda. Tim was very easy to work with and came up with a wonderful itinerary that included a night in Entebbe then flying to Kidepo and overlanding from there to Murshinson Falls, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and back to Entebbe. Our son ended up joining us at the last minute and Tim was able to seamlessly include him on our itinerary.
Our trip was amazing! Tim’s friendly driver, Ellie, welcomed us to Uganda and transported directly to and from the Karibu Guesthouse in Entebbe which was very helpful. After our stay in Kidepo we were picked up by Paul who was our guide and driver for the remainder of our trip. Paul took great pride in sharing information regarding the villages we passed through, identifying all the animals and birds we saw, and answering all our many, many questions. He went out of his way find rare animals and waited very patiently while we took our time watching the wildlife. He made sure our time in Uganda was very special.
Asante Sana!

A magical stunning experience in Kidepo.
5/5

I travelled with Buffalo and another company while in Uganda recently. Buffalo was outstanding and professional from beginning to end. Buffalo were flexible and accommodating and went out of their way to ensure a fabulous trip. They are very efficient with replying to emails and the entire booking process was very easy. I did the 5 day trip to Kidepo and it was absolutely stunning, words cannot describe how amazing Kidepo is. The food and the driving was excellent as was the knowledge and friendliness of the crew. This was the perfect end to my Ugandan adventure.
I would recommend Buffalo without hesitation. I will certainly travel with them again. They are the best.

Great value
5/5

I travelled to Uganda end of November 2017 with my mom and we met a friend who was doing charity work in Kampala.
Tim was very professional when I contacted him for a quote. He redid the quote several times to meet my criterias (budget and activity wise).
The trip was awesome. He managed to fit all I wanted to do in an 8 day trip (Bwindi/gorillas, chimps, Queen Elizabeth and Murchinson). It was intense but completely worth it and amazing. Uganda is a very pretty country - but do NOT expect good roads ^^ - and we saw amazing things all along the trip. It was our first time in Africa, and we were definitely wooed! Our driver, Emmanuel, was both super nice, very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a very nice trip. Definitely recommend the company.

Fantastic self-drive trip in Uganda
5/5

Buffalo Safaris exceeded expectations on all fronts. From assistance with acquiring gorilla tracking permits to helping us plan our trip through Uganda Tim and his team were incredibly helpful. The car was great, as was the equipment, and Tim stayed in contact with us during our trip regarding any information we needed, like road conditions etc. We really did have a great time and I would recommend the self-drive option to anyone who enjoys 4x4'ing, camping and the outdoors. Uganda is a special place!

The review below is the personal opinion of Phoebe and not that of SafariBookings.
Great experience, we saw loads of animals, but accommodation and food were very average and limited.
3/5

Overall I had a nice time and was able to see many of the animals which live in Uganda I thought that the range of activities were great and your guides were very knowledgeable. The campsites were very good and the fact that we did not have to carry tents made things much easier. However, there are a few points of issue which I would like to raise.

Firstly, we were only offered one small bottle of water throughout the entire trip which was not an issue when we were at the campsites, but was an issue during the long journeys. This became such an issue on the first day that after the walk up the waterfall - which was extremely hot and sweaty - one of my friends became ill with dehydration. One bottle of water was not enough to sustain us from 6am through to 7pm when we were served dinner and had access to a Jerry can.

Secondly, there was not enough food. The chefs made delicious food, but there was not enough - one girl in my group did not have lunch on the second day because there was not enough. On trips like this in a group of my size (which was 22), there should be more than enough food. Moreover, we were told on day one that we would not need any money for food as a packed breakfast and lunch would be provided. Instead, however, we stopped at a petrol station after 3 hours of driving and were told to pick up something from the shops. This would have been fine had we been told beforehand, but we were expecting a packed breakfast. Then, lunch was simply a wrap - delicious as it was, that and a banana was not enough to sustain us from midday to 7pm. I expected more in this packed lunch.

And finally, I have never been so frightened in a car before. Our driver drove ridiculously fast over potholes and puddles which was incredibly uncomfortable and nauseating. One of my friends was sick because of his driving. Furthermore, he would chase both animals and children to get them off the roads. This was unnecessary and frightening for us passengers. We would rather have gone slower and taken an hour longer to get to our destination than have to consider the prospect of our driver being imprisoned for manslaughter caused by reckless driving.

I hope that these comments will help you to improve your safari in future.

Epic 13 day journey around Uganda
5/5

Libby has already reviewed this trip, but I'd like to add my appreciation of the whole experience. Uganda was incredibly interesting and Emma added to our enjoyment with lots of local knowledge and insights, and I'm sure his good nature helped to keep us on track and on schedule. His skills and know-how most likely also prevented unexpected mechanical delays with the vehicle. It was a very enjoyable trip and everyone got along very well. Would recommend Buffalo Safari Camps to anyone wanting a tailored tour of this beautiful country.
