BEYOND EXPECTATIONS.
Our trip to Kenya was an impulsive decision made by me and my husband. We went through many packages but happened to choose Martin's/Earthwing's tour package of 5 days safari (Also, after reading such great reviews). And I can say we really hit a bullseye!!
Trust him with your journey, and he will make sure you get to experience the best of Safari. He is amazing with his instincts and judgments and is very quick with his decision which is really important for Safari. We not only saw the BIG FIVE but also witnessed the great migration and much more wildlife. Martins's timing was perfect; he is really blessed with this!!! The stay he booked us with was equally fabulous. He has been around like a friend who looked out for us throughout our trip.
Every day was full of surprises. It has been quite an overwhelming and mind-blowing experience.
Martin is a very genuine, sweet, humble, and fun person. I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

Martin had organised a perfect itinerary according to our request (we added a hike on Mt.Longnot) and can absolutely tailor your experience based to your needs and budget. Another reason why you should choose them is because they offer the most competitive prices for a private tour including 4/5 stars lodges and 4WD jeep, we couldn’t be more satisfied. Martin and Fred are excellent drivers, very knowledgeable of the territory and were open to any request we needed along the way. The hotel options were beautiful and the food always excellent. During our Safari both Martin and Fred were committed in spotting plenty of animals and made sure they did their best for us to enjoy the experience all the way through. Unforgettable Safari experience with Earthwings – Our Guide Was Basically a Superhero!
If you're looking for a top-notch, hassle-free safari experience, stop searching and book with Earthwings Tours and Safaris. Seriously. This small-scale, locally run company in Nairobi, led by the ever-reliable Martin, delivers big on service, transparency, and flexibility. From the moment we requested a quote for our 7-day trip to the second we touched down in Kenya, Martin was always available, answering every question (and there were MANY) with speed, accuracy, and patience.
Customization? No problem. We tweaked the itinerary, upgraded a few lodges, and adjusted transport—all for very reasonable extra costs. Martin even gave us insider tips on train travel and lodge options, making sure our trip from Nairobi to Mombasa was perfectly tailored.
Then came the real adventure.
Meet Ruben - our driver, guide, wildlife whisperer, and certified legend. Right on time, he picked us up, and off we went on our 8-day private safari through Maasai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha, Amboseli, and Tsavo East in a rugged Toyota Land Cruiser (fully equipped with charging ports for our camera gear and kept immaculately clean).
Ruben wasn’t just a guide—he was a human binocular with built-in radar for spotting big cats. Seriously, I don’t know how he did it, but within two days, we had seen the Big Five AND the Ugly Five. He wouldn’t rest until we’d ticked off at least four different cats a day, and we drove from sunrise to sunset without ever feeling rushed. His local connections? Also a huge plus—especially when we needed a little extra time at the park gates.
And the lodges? Even the mid-range ones felt luxurious to us! Everything was well-organized, the service was fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for a smoother ride.
We had such a blast that, after our safari, beach time in the south, and some final days in Nairobi, we booked an extra day in Nairobi National Park—just to go on one more game drive with Ruben!

We booked our 3 day Masai Mara Safari with Martin about 7 months in advance which was easy and stress free and the communication with Martin was simple thru Whats App and if i had a question he would answer within minutes. Martin picked us up at our hotel at 7am the morning of our safari and drove us to our hotel at The Ilkeliani Camp inside of Masai Mara Park, we loved it! Martin went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. We saw tons and tons of wildlife, even in the low season Martin knew where to go to see some action, it was amazing and very affordable and well worth the cost. Martin was on time, very professional, and reliable, and also offers
day tours in Nairobi, which we took advantage and i'm so glad we did because Nairobi is a big city with a lot of history and great food. I would highly recommend the tour to Kibera slums. I would definitely book with Earthwings Tours and Safari again!

A priceless experience!
Immediately upon getting picked up by Martin at our hotel, the experience was easy, comfortable and as Martin would say “Hakuna Matata”. We did the 3 day game drive to Masai Mara from Nairobi and it far exceeded my expectations and a lot of that was due to Martin himself. At all times he was attentive to detail, listened and made sure we were comfortable and well cared for. As other reviewers noted, Martin knows how to spot the animals (trust me, if you have never been on a Safari it is an adjustment for newbies to spot a lot of animals). He also went above and beyond to make sure we saw lions on a day when lions seemed to be in hiding for everyone; staying out 11 hours instead of the normal 8. You book Earthwings for the level of care, personalized consideration and knowledge Martin provides; at many times we witnessed Martin advising and pointing other guides to the correct locations for animal sightings. This is what you want in a guide, someone who makes sure they provide the utmost service and hospitality for their clients. Thank you Martin for answering all our questions, sharing meals with us and finding all the great petrol restroom breaks! You really made our trip!
