An easy way to build your perfect trip
This was our second trip to South Africa with Timbuktu and it was every bit as good as the first. We started by having half an idea of what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go and a combination of playing with the online trip planner and suggestions from Johnny and his team made it very easy to create our perfect trip.
All the accommodation was excellent but the standout experience on this trip was two nights in the signature suite in the fantastic Birkenhead House at Hermanus.
The Timbuktu team is also on hand to help with problems and emergencies. So when i somehow managed to put our passports in someone else's hand luggage between Joburg and Cape Town (!), we had immediate 'out-of-hours' help and advice to aid us through a pretty stressful few hours (fortunately, it ended happily!).

Having booked with Timbuktu for a fantastic safari trip 2 years ago we had no hesitation in approaching Johnny and the team again to plan our 10 day trip around the Western Cape. The website gave us the early inspiration to design what we wanted to do and the team at Timbuktu then arranged everything and at very little notice. The locations were spot on , a couple of days in Cape Town, up the coast to Paternoster, down to Hermanus and a final day or two in Franschhoek. We had just the right balance of independent travel with the reassurance of knowing that Timbuktu was there to call upon if any problems arose.We couldn't fault the service and will be booking again for our next African trip soon!

It was easy to design the trip online with the added bonus of having the team at Timbuktu to help whenever we had questions or last minute requests. Very personal service, and we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Their recommendations were fantastic and the safaris we went on in Zambia and Botswana were of the highest quality and the travel between camps seamless. We also enjoyed a few days on Azura Island off Pemba in Mozambique, which was just idyllic and the perfect compliment and ending to our wonderful holiday.

Surely the future of safari travel - so easy and they're so helpful
This company is surely the future of how safaris and African travel experiences will be organised. My partner and I went to South Africa early this year. The whole experience of booking online was so simple and allowed us to tailor the trip exactly how we wanted. Johnny and his team went above and beyond in providing an unforgettable safari experience. They were always readily available to discuss our exacting requests, extremely responsive, listened to our requirements and co-created a customized itinerary. The trip itself was seamlessly put together and took the stress out of booking flights, overground transportation to and from the safari lodges. We stayed at Dulini Private Game reserve which was by far the best experience of our honeymoon - intimate, luxurious with the most information and friendly guides with evenings spent reminiscing about the day's sightings round the campfire. The tour matched and exceeded all expectations. Friendly knowledgable staff helped us to plan the itenary and every camp gave a different but always extremely enjoyable experience. Safari drives were excellent with guides determined to give us the best view of the location and the birds and game. Staff from Timbuktu were always available before and during the trip to give advice and help if necessary. There were no hitches, we travelled to four locations and all transfers went like clockwork. It was honestly the holiday of a lifetime and I would have no hesitation in recommending the team who will help you plan an unforgettable experience to match your expectations.

Trip of a lifetime - an African adventure tailored to you!
Johnny and the team at Timbuktu helped us plan a perfect trip to the Victoria Falls staying at the beautiful Tongabezi Lodge. The website was easily to navigate and we were able to build a fantastic trip online with personal help from Johnny to finalise the details. We were recommended specific trips and things to see whilst we were there which did not disappoint. A particular highlight was the helicopter ride over the falls. Communication with the team was excellent before we left the UK and whilst we were out in Africa. We will certainly be using Timbuktu again to plan our next African adventure.

A five star company and service; we'll be back!
When planning our family safari we were recommended to Timbuktu to help us through the mass of offering on the market. We were looking for something special where the landscape and wildlife were the stars of the show. Timbuktu were able to suggest and put together a stunning selection of small camps in Zambia including Nsolo, Kakuli and Changwe River Camp.
Our memories will last a lifetime particularly the excitement of our long experienced guide when we spotted an aardvark on our last night drive!
Throughout the trip Timbuktu expertly handled the logistics to make what seemed like a daunting prospect an absolute breeze.
