Excellent 5* service
It is very difficult to travel during lockdown but Gems crew were able to postpone my trip due to travel restrictions across South Africa without an extra charge. Also I was kept informed at all times.

Fast and clear communication
We had good communication with Gems of Africa beforehand. The price was reasonable and our stay at Bakubung was very good. Beautiful lodge, good food, and wonderful game drives in Pilanesberg. We even saw elephants at the lodge!

Amazing - We Want to Return
Our experience with Gems of Africa Safari was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, everything was seamless and so thoughtfully arranged. Our time in Kruger National Park was unforgettable — we saw all of the Big Five and more! Each game drive was expertly led by knowledgeable and passionate guides who made every moment exciting and educational. The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly situated, offering both relaxation and connection to the wild surroundings. And the food — absolutely delicious! Every meal felt like a treat after a day of adventure. We can’t thank the Gems of Africa team enough for curating such an extraordinary journey. This was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we can’t wait to return!

Great experience
We had a wonderful experience on our 3 day safari! The lodge was beautiful with amazing views and the staff was very friendly. The food was great. We had 4 rides (2 mornings and 2 Afternoons) that were 3 hours long! We saw so many magnificent animals up close and it was very exciting. Our guide was so knowledgeable about them and their habitats. Opportunity to learn about conservation efforts.

Responsive
Mpho Thulo was responsive via email (within same day or within 3 working days) and answered all my queries well. I was presented with good options that catered to a wide range of budgets and needs.
We really enjoyed the service and the safari at Bottlierskop Private Reserve! Got up SUPER close to lions, elephants, rhinos, impalas, elands, and many more. The guides were humorous and extremely knowlegeable. Food was excellent. The lodging was gorgeous.
Only room for improvement would be to have gotten confirmation of the driver pick up timings and contact earlier. We had to call the company for it the day before when we didn't hear anything. That said, the driver was EXCELLENT.

Efficient and Super Proactive
Janine has been so professional and accommodating. She ensured she responded to all my requests and questions. I also wanted to change my dates and she did so without concerns. I felt very important as Janine checked up on us before and after the trip. Great Service!
